He's a lone body and I totally respected that he preferred to be on the outside looking in because he got to analyse everything in a 3D perspective. His meeting with Fiona was totally out of the blue but the only way he gets to jump at his chance after hiding his feelings for so long. Their story is one of great sadness and I respect Kristen for writing about what happens when photos are put into wrong hands. It's an issue I've dealt with personally. ...more

This was my first Emery Lord novel and it certainly will not be my last. This book broke my heart, made me cry and then mended me all back together only to break my heart twice over. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Just a simply stunning novel of a girl finding herself amid a difficult circumstance while finding new friends and her faith.

After 'Under the Lights' I wasn't too sure how I'd feel about this book. However, I completely fell in love with this. Riley was such an empowering character. She'd been raped, got told she was lying by the entire town and had a child but only saw the positives. All at the age of 17. I loved every scene with her daughter Bryony. There was so much love and affection in this novel.

Angie Thomas delivered a fresh, raw and relevant narrative that showcased the harsh realities that black people go through in life. Starr's character really relayed the vulnerability of the situation and her character only empowered me more to speak up on issues that I face as a gay, genderqueer Teen.

After 'Walk the Edge' I wasn't too sure how I was going to feel about another book surrounding the Reign of Terror. But I'm so glad I read the last book in this series. Violet and Chevy's story needed to be told. Not their love story in essence but the story of how they're moving on from the events and focusing on the future, bettering themselves.
Honestly my favourite book of this series. ...more

Initially it took me some time to get into Lady Midnight, getting used to the new characters but once things kicked in, then it really went somewhere. I'm unhealthily obsessed with Mark and Kieran and need more from them. I also cannot wait to see what's going to happen with Kit. My only negative is that I feel like Church should have appeared more. ...more
