“She was quickly becoming my reason for getting out of bed in the morning, the reason my smiles came easier. She’d brought joy back into my life, and I’d fight like hell to keep it.”
Calla has been put into a situation where she is starting a brand new chapter all on her own, and that’s includes finding a job. And that turns out to be harder than she expected. Thankfully, a friend makes a call and lands her an interview to be Theo’s assistant. Theo has just received the keys to the new New York talent agency office and has 6 months to prove that he can be a leader. The last thing Theo wants to do is hire an assistant with no experience, but after finding out his last assistant won’t be joining him, he’s left with no choice. As time goes on, Calla and Theo develop a connection. One problem, there’s a strict no fraternization rule and must keep their feelings a secret. However, neither expected to fall in love with each other and must decide if love truly does conquer all.
“I’ve had enough of people telling me I can’t have you. The only person who can tell me to stop is you.”
This is my first read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. I’m a sucker for a forbidden, boss/assistant romance, and especially when they can’t hide their feelings any longer and cave in. The tension between Calla and Theo was brewing and was so much fun to read. You just can’t help but cheer them on and root for them. Calla and Theo are complete opposites—Calla being a small-town, sunshine-filled woman, Theo a city-boy and a big time grump—but they really do complement each other. They work great together as boss and assistant, but they are even better partners.
“Theo had no idea, did he? That home had been a foreign concept to me until he crashed into my life.”
The flow of the story was perfect and the writing was very easy to read. There was a little spice sprinkled within the book, but there was so much more intimacy between the two main characters that showed true love exists, even if you think you don’t believe in it anymore. The communication between Calla and Theo was mature and healthy (which was a big plus in my eyes). I truly loved reading this story and about this found family in Saint Stephens Lake.

I don’t think you understand, I’M OBSESSED!
“How do you tell your best friend you think she’s the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen? Not just because she’s gorgeous on the outside but because you know all her insides are beautiful too.”
Wyatt and Wren have this sort of chemistry you would never see coming, but once it’s there, you can’t get enough of it. They are pure opposites: Wren is organized, quiet, lives by a strict schedule, and has her entire future planned out; Wyatt is fun, outgoing, a total casanova, and lives life in the moment. I love reading books with the opposites attract trope because the banter is top tier, and trust me when I say that Wren and Wyatt’s banter lived up to that expectation!! I love both Wren and Wyatt and thought they brought out the best out of each other—they are truly made for each other and I’m happy they were able to get the HEA they deserve.
“I shouldn’t have done that. “You’re right. I should have done it.”
This story was so much fun to read. I giggled way too many times, I laughed out loud at Wyatt’s fun outbursts, I sympathized with both Wren and Wyatt for their own reasons, and boy did I blush when they realized the inevitable. The slow burn was so addictive. The writing was easy to follow along. The chemistry was off the charts. The character development was done so well (especially with Wren). I could not put this book down, and trust me when I say I lost sleep from reading, but it was totally worth it. I’m obsessed with this book, this series, and the entire Newhouse U world—I just can’t get enough. I’m so excited to see where the rest of the series takes us, and I know I’ll love every single moment just as much as the first two books.

Nayla is living her life to the fullest as a full-time model, but with dreams to become a lawyer. Adrian is a grumpy carpenter with a traumatic past effecting his every day life, especially relationships and intimacy. Nayla and Adrian stumble upon each other one day in a coffee shop, and their magnetic pull to one another was instant. Neither Nayla or Adrian believe in relationships, but there’s something about Adrian that makes Nayla want to get to know him better. Adrian has never felt this way about a woman and does everything he possibly can to push Nayla away, but they always find their way back to one another.
This was one of those books where you just couldn’t stop reading because you had to know what was going to happen next. There was so much push and pull between Nayla and Adrian and I was addicted to the tension.
Nayla isn’t afraid to tell how it is as she is one strong, smart, independent woman. She’s totally full of life and when she sets her mind on something, she doesn’t give up. Adrian constantly tried pushing Nayla away as he was scared of the development of their relationship, but watching her help Adrian break down his walls was truly beautiful.
Adrian is definitely a grump, but he has his reasons. The trauma from his childhood and past girlfriends has affected his view on relationships, and even himself as a person. I was constantly rooting for Adrian throughout the book. I love how he not only wanted to be a better person himself, but he also pushed Nayla to follow her dreams on going to law school. The way he convinced her to pursue those dreams made me tear up.
The mental health representation in this book is real. You get a sense of what it’s like to be in someone’s mind who has been through something traumatic and is afraid to pull through. It can be frustrating with the constant back and forth and the unknown, but that’s the reality of it and that’s exactly what Adrian goes through. This is definitely an emotional read at times, but that’s what makes it real.
I loved this book. It is my first read from this author, but I will definitely be reading more of their work. Emotional, spicy, tension-filled love story with a beautiful HEA. Definitely recommend!!

✨Marriage of Convenience ✨Royalty“Even if it took the rest of my life, I would make sure she knew she was worth everything to me—no one else mattered.”
Liam and Amy find themselves in situations that require them to be married—it would help Amy’s image for the promotion she’s working towards, and it would get Liam’s family off his back. Both don’t believe in marriage and/or love, so Liam came up with a proposal that would benefit both of them. Liam and Amy attend events together and put on a great show for the world to see. But playing pretend with a Prince starts feeling more and more real as time goes on.
To me, there’s nothing better than a big, broody, over-protective man married to a “badass boss bitch” woman who doesn’t take no for an answer. The banter between them was immaculate. Having two stubborn main characters fall in love? Priceless to read. Liam and Amy are perfect for each other and became better versions of themselves as time went on. Watching Liam’s walls break down when it came to Amy was so sweet. And the spice? Phew, I was blushing. When Amy was wanting to “cash in” on Liam’s offer from the plane, you bet I was squealing and kicking my legs in the air. I couldn’t contain my excitement.
I loved each and every one of these characters (well, except for Leo for obvious reasons), and I was especially able to see myself in Amy. As a plus size woman myself, it can be hard to accept love from others, especially intimacy. The way Liam continuously expressed his love for her curves and her plus size body made my heart melt. Being able to relate to characters immediately makes me want to continue reading, and this book did not disappoint. I also loved the “found family” aspect in this book. It made me so happy to see Natalie, Amy’s best friend and Liam’s SIL, have her village. Amy and Liam didn’t think twice and were always willing to help Natalie and her new husband, Jaxon, with their kids. The love in that entire household was so sweet.
Even though this is an interconnected standalone and it’s not necessary, I do recommend reading the first book in the series, as this does seem to reference moments from that book quite often. I am so excited to read Preston and Lucy’s story next. I feel a good enemies to lovers story here, and I can’t wait for the banter between them!!

Madalyn is someone who was bullied all throughout school for being a goodie two-shoes book nerd, up until recently when she, basically, took over Sophie’s life after she went missing. “Maddie” became popular, joined the cheering team, and is dating the football star. Miles, Sophie’s brother, is back in town to try and figure out what happened to Sophie. Miles has the reputation of an angry, bad boy, and everyone in town thinks he killed his sister, But Madalyn knows better. Miles is the first boy she’s ever loved. She knows he wouldn’t do anything like that to his sister.
Eventually, Madalyn starts to get creepy text messages from an unknown number, and they start to become death threats. Miles said this happened to Sophie before she disappeared. This could mean whoever was stalking Sophie, has now decided Madalyn is their next victim. Miles and Madalyn decide to try and work together to come up with clues on who the stalker is, which then turns into a tension-filled relationship. Both Miles and Madalyn have had feelings for each other for a long time, and it was about time they showed each other that.
This book was very suspenseful and kept me on my toes all throughout. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this to feel so YA, but I liked it. Definitely included the vulnerability of a young girl’s first true boyfriend love and the consequences of it. It also gave A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder vibes, but with A LOT more spice. Like seriously, Miles being a virgin and had that kind of mouth? ...more

Asher is in desperate need for a nanny for his deaf daughter. And with such perfect timing, Phoebe has returned back from college for the summer, and she just happens to know ASL. Phoebe has babysat for Asher before, and that did not turn out well, so he’s super hesitant on agreeing for her to watch his daughter. However, he finally agrees after some much needed convincing. Suddenly, Phoebe and Asher are realizing they have feelings for each other, but they know they can’t cross that line because not only is Phoebe the nanny, but she’s also his boss’s daughter. And she’s 14 years younger than him.
Asher is super protective of his family and the ones he loves. He also loves to show off his dominant side in the bedroom. Phoebe is a bit of a hot mess, but she’s so good with Olivia, Asher’s daughter. They develop such a beautiful relationship, which made my heart so happy.
