When I requested this book off of NetGalley I had such strong hopes for it and it ended up COMPLETELY blowing me away. I read this book at work and I'm glad that I was alone while I did because so much of this book had me tearing up. It was raw, it was beautiful, it was funny. Most importantly, it was so real.
Cass's grief was just...it made me feel some things. I (thankfully) haven't lost either of my siblings, but over the years I have lost a number of people in my life. I have felt the hurt, the anger, the lingering behind it all and I think that's what made this book one of the absolute favorites that I've read this year. It's what made me love her as a character.
I loved the romance behind this book as well. Normally I'm an advocate for dual POV but this book was about Cass and her grief and how her brother's life affect her. There were parts where I wish we got Vince's perspective but I'm also glad that we didn't have it at the same time. Speaking of Vince, I loved that man right away. I just want to put him in my pocket and keep him around. He just felt so warm and comforting.
I'm not usually one for a third act break up, but it was so necessary for this book. As someone who has fallen into the pit of depression that grief can lead to, I loved how that was touched upon. My only wish was that at the end, I kind of wanted more than just a quick apology. I kinda hoped it showed more of a building up of trust again between the two. But to quote Martha Dunnstock in Heathers the Musical, "I'm a sucker for a happy ending."

I absolutely loved the concept of this book, but it personally just ended up falling flat to me. It didn't take me too long to get into the book, but my interest for the story kept coming in waves (and more often than not I had found myself disinterested). I feel like it this story was trying to be too many things at once but ended up feeling underdeveloped in the end. I was neutral about the characters, the writing at times felt awkward and dialogue forced, and I feel like the story itself went on for too long. I feel like there were certain plot points that more than likely could've been left out and I would've enjoyed the book more.
I definitely see myself checking out more from these authors in the future, but this book personally wasn't for me.

But I love Talia. Her writing and her characters are always end up being of my favorites. I’m an absolute sucker for friends to lovers. I get why some people don’t like it as much because “if you’ve liked each other for so long you would’ve been together,” but this story showcases how that always isn’t true. As someone completely oblivious to feelings sometimes, you don’t always know or understand your feelings.
I liked the multiple timelines in this book. Sometimes I feel like it can be a little jarring, but it definitely worked to show their friendship over the years and how much they meant to each other. Because when it comes down to it, your partner should be your best friend and before being anything else, that’s what they are to each other.
I loved seeing both of their growth at the end, but I wish we got to see a little bit more of Rahul’s. Just like maybe a chapter more of it honestly. While Jasmine’s character development felt shaped out, Rahul’s felt a tiny bit rushed and almost nonexistent. ...more

I enjoyed Chloe and Drew. I thought that as a couple they worked really well. I love how well they complimented each other’s personalities. The way that Drew so easily did what he could do to ease Chloe’s anxiety.
I wish we got to learn more about Drew. More about his past. He felt a little underdeveloped because of it in my opinion. But he was just so sweet.
My favorite character most definitely was Bodhi. He’s the true main character in this book...more
