It engaged me so well, and the storyline was just...wow. The book is set in a dystopian world, where, there is a reality show, The Hunger Games, where, from 12 Districts, one boy and one girl are selected from each. The rule to win these Games is to kill other children/teenagers, and the last survivor is the winner. But when Katniss's little sister is chosen, she volunteers as her replacement. And that is how she lands in the terrific world of The Hunger Games. Katniss is such a delight! And Cinna was such a good character among the vile people. Peeta, though has a different vibe. I love them all so much! Jumping to the next book right away. ...more

Although the first one was enjoyable, this one held a lot of meaning. I loved the character development of Oraya and Raihn. The weight of responsibility and grief changed them. I loved how mysterious and, at the end, how dark but beautiful, Vincent's character was. Everything matched so perfectly. I enjoyed this one more than the first book. Also, I would love stories from other characters, for example, Septimus or Mische. This book deserves 5 stars. So good. It is such an enjoyable read. Thanks!...more

The right amount of everything- the fantasy, the political-aspect, the world-building. It just proves that this story was definitely worth a shot. I loved this OMG Reading from the POV of Des is even more interesting! I loved this book sooooooo much! Reading Des's tale was a thrilling experience! I loved this novella so much more than the first and second books, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THEM! The story starts with Larissa's (Des's mother), tale of escaping the tyrant king, Galleghar Nyx, who also happens to be her child's father. Then we read the tale of a young child called 'Bastard' just because he doesn't use his magic, or rather, his mother doesn't allow him to. He's been known as fatherless, weak child. But then he learns about his true identity. And his mother is killed. Then rises Desmond Flynn, full of vengeance and determined to kill his father. Not to claim the throne. Joining a 'gang' as Callie calls it, he becomes a part of the army of the Night Kingdom. Until one day, he kills the king.
Hmm... KNOCK KNOCK. Callie has murdered her stepfather, Hugh Andes and needs the Bargainer's help, as he is called on the Earth.
The novella was just sooooo perfect! Can't wait to read the final book, Dark Harmony ASAP. ...more

As Callie learns more secrets about her mate, Des, The Lord of Secrets, The Night King, the story grows darker and darker, there's a lot still to be revealed. The casket children, the sleeping women and the missing soldiers...all the mystery finally starts to fall into pieces, and still, there's a lot more to discover. Then I found this one and it I recently read Daughter of the Pirate King duology and loved it so much! So I was looking more for a siren/pirate read. Then I found this one and it was famous, so I picked this one up. I truly liked it. In fact, this was amazing. It was so close to a five star read. But I had higher expectations, and unfortunately this book did not fulfill them. Let me tell you why. 1. The book was...slow. The whole book was too slow and the ending was rushed up. Now, there is a lot of spoiler ahead. So pls stop reading if you want to avoid them. (view spoiler)[ Like, really, 30% of the book was done and we were not still at the part where Elian and Lira met. Okay, avoid that. But can you avoid the fact that 60% of the book was on Saad where Elian still doesn't discover who on the earth Lira was? And then, in the last chapter, everything hushes. They fight, the war is over, Lira is the Sea Queen. ALL. IN. ONE. CHAPTER. I mean, seriously? Are you just kidding me? 2. Hushed up romance. You will expect romance when you read the blurb, would you not? And there was romance, but forgive me for saying so, it is....terrible. I mean, out of nowhere they are kissing and then they are fighting each other and then again kissing?? Literally, it made NO DAMN sense. This book was a very beautiful read! I loved the whole Full-blooded Fae and prophecy part. It was really nice, though Arwen was a slightly naive character that might at some times seem too young, she was a lovable character altogether and I loved Kane even more! He's my fav character, alongside Mari. Arwen wasn't exactly a strong female character, but she was...different. Kane was...magnificient! Mari was a chaotic and cheery, and always kept the atmosphere light! Loved the characters, the plot twists. I hope the next book will reveal the answers to so many questions this book has formed. The story was rather slow at the beginning and middle, but as it approached the later parts, it became fast paced and more action, and gave more fantasy vibes than from the beginning. So, read this book. I loved it overall, there's definitely a need for improvement, but somehow, it manages to become interesting. ...more
