"I would kill for you, and I have. I would do it again, every damn day. I’d turn myself inside out for you. I would die for you. I don’t just like you, Sloane, and you fucking know it.”
Excuse me as I scream into the void over how much I LOVED this book! Quippy, funny, unhinged shenanigans. I've loved every serial killer Brynne has written to date and Sloane and Rowan are no exception.
I might even say Rowan's a Top Ten Book Boyfriend. (I LOVE AN OBSESSED MAN WHO'S RAVENOUS FOR THE FMC).
I used to think I wasn't a rom-com lover, but it looks like all I needed was two serial killers and the murder and mayhem that comes with their annual game. This was slow burn but so freaking delightful because we got to see the two get to know each other over the years. We got to feel that tension build to a crescendo, the pining that yanked on our heartstrings, the flirting that made our cheeks burn. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE SMUT. It was perfect. Not overwritten but still enough to make me pant (some of my fave kinks were used hehe).
The only drawback I have, and that's if I'm being super nit-picky, is that the story lulled a bit in the middle for me, but everything else? PERFECTION.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SEQUELS. THESE KANE BROTHERS WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME. ...more

"...we only wanted to kill and potentially frame one other for murder some of the time..."
That's the state of affairs between Kyrie and Jack, rival serial killers who work in academia together.
The tension between these two is so thick and delicious. The chemistry? Off the charts. Not to mention their banter is some of the quickest and wittiest I've read in a while.
"Must you always test my limits, Dr. Roth?" My smile is as bright as the sun in a desert sky. "Yes," I whisper around the tightening pressure of Jack's hand. "Always."
Their relationship evolves from disdain to all-consuming so beautifully. Not to mention the writing is stunning! I love the way the character's internal debates and feelings are written:
Kyrie: "I am the sun whose light reflects on his cold, remote mask. And I am the celestial fire that will destroy him"
And Jack: "She owns me. Every fiber of my being, every cell coursing through my marrow, she is the one dominating me, and I'm simply the depraved monster subservient to her commands"
Kyrie is a phenomenal FMC. I support women's rights just as much as I support this woman's wrongs. She's gone through some serious trauma and has darkness within her, but masks it with a smile and bubbly personality. Her ability to camouflage herself, to make herself seem less threatening when she's a wolf in sheep's clothing? Spectacular. And the way she playfully terrorizes Jack? Chef's freaking kiss.
Jack on the other hand, is a dark force to be reckoned with. He's aloof, purposefully so, but taken completely unawares by his bubbly colleague. He hates that he's drawn to her and I was living for the way his thoughts progressed from denial to acceptance. The things this man says had me in a literal puddle:
"Any man who even imagines touching you will be sliced into ribbons of flesh...and then I will fuck you in a pool of blood while their heart still drums its final beats"
"I don't think I've ever heard anything as sweet as your begging, petal. Do it again."
Ugh, brb. Gotta go stand in front of my fridge for a second.
Delectable tension aside, I thought the unraveling of the plot and the history of these two was well done! The main conflict was a bit predictable, but I've always been the type to focus on the journey rather than the destination type of reader.
Also not to be dramatic, but that third act conflict? I was a sobbing MESS. Did I expect to cry when reading a spicy serial killer dark romance? No. And that makes this book that much more excellent.
Marrow comes out March 23, 2023 and I highly, highly recommend it if you like:
-hand necklaces -somnophilia and kinky smut -witty banter -"who did this to you" -hero with a pierced dick -strong fmc -mmc who says terms of endearment to fmc in a different language. -compelling tension and relationship
Thank you to Brynne Weaver and Trisha Wolfe for this advanced reader copy. All thoughts are my own....more

This is an absolute MASTERPIECE. 5/5 STARS.
I went into this book blind, the only knowledge I had was: this is MM and it's about stepbrothers making OnlyFans content together out of necessity.
Well, surprise, it's exactly that and MORE.
Holy fucking shit. The chemistry between Avi and Kyran was excellent. HELLO enemies to lovers. The sexual tension was thick enough to slice through with a knife (and honestly got me so hot and bothered NUMEROUS times while reading. Sorry, tmi?). But the CHARACTERS!! Yes this is fiction and the circumstances are a little farfetched, but the author managed to make these two feel so freaking real. Seeing their relationship evolve from combative stepbrothers to business partners to an actual romantic relationship? Witnessing Kyran's healing and slowly embracing his true self? And Avi's unconditional love and support? I AM A WRECK.
Also there's sports (American football), text messages, and dual POV if I haven't sold you at this point yet.
This book is long and worth every single page. It has all of my favorite things in one convenient package. This was my first Nyla K foray and DEFINITELY not my last. I will be going through their whole backlist from this point forward, thank you very much.
Holy shit, this was phenomenal. I'm still shaking from the adrenaline and I'm a wreck from sobbing over the last few chapters of this.
ForewarningHoly shit, this was phenomenal. I'm still shaking from the adrenaline and I'm a wreck from sobbing over the last few chapters of this.
Forewarning, this is in the realm of bully romance: Lilah experiences verbal and physical abuse throughout the story, and there's barely any empathy from her pack throughout. It's rough. I feel so strongly for Lilah and I can't help but admire her strength and perseverance. She's smart, she's kind, she's a fucking fighter. She's the suffer in silence type for most of this, finally gets the nerve to ask for help near the end before she's shattered, and these alphas better GROVEL LIKE THEIR LIVES DEPENDED ON IT in Pack Darling: Part Two because she deserves the world.
In regards to the MMCs, we've only had glimpses of who they are underneath their carefully crafted exteriors. I'm most intrigued by Finn and Jett. Hunter and Orion are next. And Atlas is ranked last.
This is slow burn to end slow burns. There is smut on page but not involving the FMC. There's a MM scene and some MMMMM action as well.
Read for: -Rejected Mates -Slow Burn -Strong FMC -Omegavese, RH/Why Choose -MM, MMMMM scenes (I fucking hope an F gets thrown in there next book) ...more
This takes place about a year after the first book in I loved Baby & the Late Night Howlers but I might just be obsessed with Lola & the Millionaires.
This takes place about a year after the first book in the series. You can technically read it on its own, but I think it'd be a much more fulfilling reading experience to go in order!
Lola is a beta who used to chase alphas. After getting sexually abused by some antagonistic alphas (from book 1!) she now has PTSD and is struggling for a semblance of normalcy while putting herself back together. We watch her learn to manage and overcome her trauma as she forms friendships and relationships with an all-male pack.
I adore Lola so freaking much. Even though she's going through some major shit, she still shines. She's hesitant to trust others, especially alphas, but seeing her slowly start to open her heart and lean on these men makes my heart so soft.
Emotion and angsty goodness in this book aside, there's delectable spice in this!!! A few of the scenes had me feeling some type of way lmao.
I can't wait to jump into part two!
Read this for: -omegaverse (duh) with a beta main character --why choose/reverse harem -pack with a male omega -toys used during ~intimate moments~ -considerate men who want to protect and spoil fmc -age gap -Onscreen MF, MMF, MMMMF; Implied MM, MMM, MMMM...more

THIS IS ENEMIES TO LOVERS DONE RIGHT.
Why didn't I read this sooner?!
I loved how toxic this Dramione relationship was. Draco remains deplorable for the majority of the book and I could yell from the rooftops how much I appreciate the author for not ~magically making him a hero~ once he and Hermione get together.
And Hermione, this unreliable narrator yet respectable character. Loved that she held her own while going after what she wants.
Overall, my mind is fucking blown, I'll probably reread this again this year, and the Draco from this cover art is currently my phone wallpaper (I'm that obsessed).
Side note: this was my first intro back in the fanfic world in YEARS. I haven't read anything since high school when fanfiction.net was my go-to.

I can't wait to get into the duet following this book. Back up undies are on deck, if you know what I'm saying.
Updating my rating because I don't know what past me was on to rate it what I did before.
----------- April 3, 2022: I could've done without the high school drama set up in the beginning, but once you get past that and into the dare itself, I could NOT put this down.
Can we also talk about how dope this cover is though!? Wow....more

Now usually This book!!! I am sham-frickin-wowed, absolutely obsessed, and may be a bit feral for Daddy Rhodes. Talk about big, beefy, and beautiful.
Now usually when I review a romance, I mostly review the mmc because let's be real, we're reading for the fictional men written by women, who would never exist in real life. However, I NEED to gush about the fmc, Aurora. She is so real, human, and relatable. Yes she's 33 and acts a little immature, but who doesn't every now and then. What matters is she's trying her best to adapt to her new life, learn what's necessary to thrive, and make the best of it. I loved seeing her development throughout the story and I was rooting so hard for her. She might just be one of my favorite fmc in contemporary romance.
My love for the thoughtful, silver fox, zaddy that is Tobias Rhodes, is obvious, but I will admit his character depth was remarkably shallow compared to Aurora's. Granted the whole shebang is told in Aurora's POV, so we only got whatever Daddy Rhodes shared out loud so I'm not gonna harp too hard on him. I came for a grumpy/sunshine, and this man right here is the grumpiest of grumps, I was squealing with glee. Besides his stoicism, he's dependable, hardworking, and will be there for his loved ones come hell or high water.
Rhodes recognizes that this is a period of growth for Aurora and is incredibly patient and supportive. Their trust in each other slowly builds throughout the book and I adore how they approached advancing their relationship.
Then there's all the other characters! The supporting cast is endearing and easily lovable. Amos is perhaps the only teenager I would ever tolerate lol. But each character brought so much personality and color to the page, my heart is so full thinking about all their relationships with one another. This truly is small town romance at its best.
All Rhodes Lead Here is more pensive than the other MZ books I’ve read, but that only lends to create such a down to earth story. The found family/found home theme running throughout the book had me feeling so soft. This is the slowest of slow burns but it pays off, I promise. I laughed, I cried, I empathized, and I got angry while reading and I loved every moment of this book!
PS: out of the three MZ books I've read, this one is in the lead for best smutty scene. ...more
