My only nitpick---well two nits---is 1: the end seemed to unnecessarily focus on characters from the previous book. Felt forced and thrown in, and actually made the ending drag. And 2: I wish this book didn't rely so heavily on the previous in the series. We don't even get a couple pages on how Bates and Vince meet....more

I actually wish they were just a little more fleshed out. At times the ambiguousness got to be a bit much and I longed for plain speech without all the riddles, but I'm nitpicking. This was awesome. Curious now about what else this author has out there.
9/28/23 update: I've now read several more books by this author and can honestly say that nothing else of Addison Cain's is quite like this one....more
