The Slow Burn is the second book in the duo series "Moonlight and Motor Oil" I am not sure if Kristen Ashley is planning on doing more books, I have a feeling its just a duo series since it features two brothers and two sisters. I will say that reading this one took much longer than I had originally planned on, there were many mixed reviews on Goodreads but when I saw this on sale a few days ago for 0.99 Cents on Amazon I just knew that I needed to read this one and since Kristen Ashley hasn't disappointed me I knew I had to pick this one up and WHEW this book was grand. I just couldn't put this one down.
The Slow Burn is highly connected to the first book "The Hookup" so I would recommend reading that one first because there is a connection that is built between Toby and Addie. Addie is a single mother, her sister has just become happily engaged with Toby's brother. Toby is determined not to take hold of Addie, she is everything he has ever dreamed of but if it didn't work out the complex family dynamics would make things even more difficult and he would never want to put them both in that difficult position. But it becomes evident that he can't seem to let go of her and before Toby realizes it he is claiming her for his own but there is some answers to the past that both Addie and Toby will need to face up to before embracing the bright future ahead of them.
I wasn’t in love with him. But I knew if he gave me even the barest hint he’d even think of going there with me, I’d take that fall. And when I did, if it didn’t work, I also knew it would annihilate me.
The Slow Burn was FANTASTIC in every way. The first chapter does start out a bit slow, so stick with it for a few chapters and you will become HOOKED, honestly, the bantering and the fights between these two in the beginning is simply to die for. I honestly couldn't stop laughing because well...Toby is your typical KA alpha male and Addie is passionate and prideful so yeah there is some conflict between them. But love seeing them make up and the sex in this book is on point and just as steamy as you come to expect from a KA novel.
I wanted to taste his mouth and other parts of him. I wanted to feel his skin and see what his body looked like under those tees and jeans. I wanted to fuck him. I wanted that to be wild and intense and so enthralling,
I really enjoyed seeing these two get together so quickly in the story and see the "On The Rocks" trope which is a trope that KA normally features in her books (one of my favorite kinds of tropes since its so relatable to real life) Its so refreshing to see this couple fight for each other and the life they want to build for each other. I appreciated seeing Addie learn to let go of her pride and let those that surround her love her and support her the way she needs it. She is such a devoted mother to her son and is such a fighter for him.
Life wasn’t about disappointment. Life was a journey. The journey of finding what I’d seen on my sister’s face the night before. Finding your place. Finding your people. And settling in so when those cold winds blew, you had warmth to see you through. Toby was going to understand that. I knew it. No. I vowed it. Because I was going to teach him.
There is plenty of fun drama and emotion that just drives this book and I am not going to lie the ending was really emotional and not a big fan of what happens there (and those who have read it will know what I am talking about) but there is a HEA .....but a conflict with a supporting character. I was really intrigued to see how she implemented all of these elements and made it work out in the end for both of them. I wouldn't mind seeing KA write the son's book because there was a hint of it at the end. Who knows? Maybe KA will grant my wish in this :)
It was about being reminded about the magnificence of the universe, and how you were an integral part of it, and you should not waste a moment, you should find time to savor its beauty while you had your time amongst its majesty.
Overall I found The Slow Burn to be a fantastic book here, its a story of acceptance, fighting for the one you love and embracing the gifts that come your way.....TRULY MAGNIFICENT!

I was able to listen to it on a long drive, and it was sweet perfect. These narrators really are a great balance together. Both Kate Russell and Sebastian York are special favorites of mine, and they brought the best qualities of this book: front and center in a most brilliant way.
Hit The Spot begins with our heroine, Tori, who is a waitress at a local restaurant and has a passion for her work. But when she first meets our hero, Jamie, she is torn between sexual attention and disdain for his. He is a typical playboy and she refuses to be like all the other women that fall at his feet. But Jamie is stubborn in his pursuit of Tori, and for months he doesn't give up on winning her over. But then a moment happens between Jamie and Tori, and the stakes between them only go higher. And the chemistry that has been boiling just beneath the surface is about to come up to the top of the focus. But Tori can't resist what she feels for Jamie, and somehow through all these months, has slowly been winning her attention and heart. But their relationship will hit spots of damage and it will take time and focus to work through the spots to their HEA.
Hit The Spot is a fantastic read and I couldn't get enough of it. Honestly, this was the best medicine that I never knew that I needed. It was packed with all the light and laughter I was sorely in the need of while also delivering on a steamy romance that won me over pretty quickly. I always get drawn to the playboy heroes, and seeing them fall head over heels for their women and Jamie does exactly that here. I found it so entertaining seeing how he had to prove himself to Tori. He isn't the easiest of men to be with, but Tori knows exactly how to handle him in ways that work best for their relationship. While on the surface it may seem like a simple romance, it is anything but. And I really admired how J Daniels really added depths to this story in all the right places.
Hit The Spot is a story that you won't be able to put down, its a story that swept me easily off my feet and entertained me from beginning to end and I didn't want to let this pair go. Their story is packed with laughs, jaunts, delights and adventures. Buckle your seat belt, because this ride was a wild one! ...more

Introduction Down With Love is the first book in the "Laws of Attraction" trilogy. This was a book that I read from my Hoopla library subscription and I had a blast with this one in audio. It was so entertaining and I just loved the interactions between the couple. It had a mix of laughs with angst so this author really handles the bantering so well between this. It does have a borderline of enemies to lovers, but its more they are just opposite so that causes some fun conflicts. Just from reading this book, I can see why this trilogy is so well loved by so many readers and I am not sure why it took me so long to read but I can't wait to read more of it in the coming weeks!
Summary Down With Love is a story about two people that have completely different views on weddings and marriage. Our hero, Max, is a bit cynical about marriage. He works with couples and deals with divorce and seperations and sees the negative affects of long term relationships. When Max finds out that his brother is engaged, but also has hired a wedding planner for their wedding, he is conflicted when there is explosive chemistry with the wedding planner. Charlie Love is a wedding planner, and believe in love and relationships. Charlie and Max go head to head at times as they have differing beliefs, but sometimes love gets in the way.
My Outlook Down with Love was such a BLAST! I absolutely had so much fun with this one. I love stories with event planners, so it was so interesting to see this dynamic here because this couple was so fun in their interactions. They had me laughing all over the place. I was so entertained in seeing them work through their differences and working with their families. I just love a cynical hero and Max was the epitome of it and seeing him fall for love's tricks was so enjoyable. This author definitely knows how to entertain her readers. I am so curious to see the next one, I have really missed this author's voice in her stories.
Overall View I found Down With Love to be a lively entertaining romance that curled my toes and kept my heart happy and light! An endearing romance to enjoy!
I found this story to be so much fun! I wouldn't say its my favorite Meghan Quinn at all, but I would say it was entertaining especially in the secondI found this story to be so much fun! I wouldn't say its my favorite Meghan Quinn at all, but I would say it was entertaining especially in the second half once these two actually got together. And it had a outcome with the brother (I LEAST EXPECTED haha) Meghan Quinn definitely threw me for a surprise on that one.
My primary issue that I had with this book was the flashbacks in the first half of the book, I really had no interest in them. The way this story was written, I just wanted to put it down because they were "meh" and just didn't appeal to me. I am highly picky about flashbacks and honestly I don't feel like they were needed, or if they were implemented it could have just been a couple of beginning chapters to get the important background between the couple. I just didn't feel the need to care. And I found the heroine a bit frustrating in the first half. I didn't really see why she was so anti the hero. Like he was so devoted to her, but she was fighting him so much even though you can see she feels the connection. She was just a bit flakey and the hero deserved a heroine willing to fight for him as much as he was willing to fight for her. My other issue was the conflict in the third act, with how the heroine was with the hero. She should have done a bigger grovel, the hero deserved better.
Now there were quite a few aspects that I did enjoy in this one. I loved the hero pining so much after the heroine. The friendship between the three friends was pretty amazing, I love seeing male friendships and its done so well in this one especially the friendship between the hero and the heroine's brother and when it all comes out, I just SWOONED the way that they stood by each other. It was pretty awesome. The romance itself was super swoony. It had me in my emotions so deeply. And I do feel like if you are looking for lots of feels, this is a story that you need to pick up.
Overall I found this one to be a charming, laugh out loud, unrequited love romance that leaves you with plenty of swoons! ...more

First Impressions Eternal Rider is the first book in the Lords of Deliverance series but this series is also connected with the Demonica series as well. I have really been remiss in reading this author, and I am not sure why I haven’t read these books yet, I have always enjoyed her writing style and the way in which she crafts her world-building. I think because I have read the first two books in the Demonica series and they weren’t my favorite of her work, but when I saw that this one was available at my library, I just knew that I had to get back to this world and I definitely am thrilled that I got back to this author and yeah its a classic fantasy/PNR series and I am wishing I had read this years ago, but it’s never too late to pick up a kick-ass series like this one. I really have a soft spot for mythological fantasy and this one was so well written and I was so drawn into this world very quickly, and if you haven’t read this series, you definitely need to change that.
His hand sliced through the air in a silencing motion, and he stalked to the window. “Have you seen any rats?”
Her mind spun at the sudden shift of subject. “Rats?”
“Rodents that resemble large mice.”
“I know what rats are,” she gritted out. “Why?”
“They’re spies.” He peered through the curtain into the darkness. Thick fog diffused the yellow lamplight, creating an eerie glow on the street below. “Have you seen any?”
Rodent spies? The man might be hot as hell, but he was a loon. As inconspicuously as possible, Cara inched toward the door. “I didn’t see any furry little James Bonds.”
Summary We get introduced to the four horseman of the Apocalypse, and Area is also known as “War” and if he falls to evil and breaks the seal, then mankind will fall too. And with his own brother Pestilence plotting his destruction and that of the world, Ares has his hands full keeping evil at bay and protecting his siblings. Then enters Cara mThornhart who is the key to his salvation. Cara is a human but with certain gifts. When a hellhound puppy is brought to her, and she heals his wound, the hellhound binds her to him and changes her destiny in a way she never imagined. She is now seeing people as they really are, demons and other mythological creatures within the human society, but it is Ares who ends up saving her life and they join forces as it becomes apparent that Cara is the key to saving the world. But as Ares and Cara work together, a sizzling attraction builds between them and they soon realize that their connection is powerful but can it last with Cara’s dying or will they find their way to their HEA….
Was he actually looking forward to seeing Cara again? The goofy way his lips were curved into a smile said yes, and horror of horrors, he realized he was experiencing some sort of crush. He needed to kill something.
What I Loved This book was simply superb and I had such a fun time listening to this one. I wasn’t sure what I was really getting into with this one and I quickly jumped into this one, I didn’t even look at the blurb before jumping into this one, I just had a gut feeling that I wouldn’t need to and yeah I didn’t need to at all. I was quickly swept up in this story and the way that this author captures your attention very quickly. I really had a blast with the Area/Cara pairing. I actually adored Cara as the heroine, she has such a spine of steel and I felt her reactions to her reality shifting, to be quite realistic. I really admired the way that she handles Ares too. He is a handful (haha) and I really felt like Cara just handled him so well and knew when to stand her ground and when not to although it takes a learning curve. Ares is a dreamboat of the fantastical world, he has such a tortured soul but at the same time, he has this vulnerability that is so raw and sexy at the same time. I really liked that he was willing to do what it took to protect the world and those he cared about. The ending worked its way for a HEA with so much surprise and flair and surprised me as I didn’t see that twist happening. But that is what I really respect about Larissa Ione, she will always deliver in those shocking turnabouts when you least expect it. We are introduced to some fun characters and I can’t wait to get more of it.
“I’ll listen to you, but you need to treat me with a little respect. Because it doesn’t sound like I’m a pawn. Sounds like I’m more of a queen.” A vein in his temple began to throb, and she grew bolder, the sense of power emanating from the mark on her chest filing her with the mettle she’d lost after the break-in two years ago. Lowering her voice to a tense whisper, she nipped his earlobe. “Checkmate.”
What I Struggled With There wasn’t really much I struggled with at all, the pacing was a bit off in moments in the first half but it wasn’t often so doesn’t detract much from my rating
The Narration I have come to really love this narrator, she does such a superb job and she really portrayed these characters so well. Her voice is lovely and draws you into the world very quickly. She handles the level of emotion just right and brings a new level of narration that is delightful and makes for an entertaining listen.
Overall View Eternal Rider is a action-packed fantasy romance that will bring a new level of intensity, raw sensuality and adventure to the reader! Larissa Ione delivers in every way and will only engage you in a fierce manner that will have you wanting to grab the next installment as fast as you can!
Let a woman too close and while she sucked your cock, she sucked your brains and manhood right out of you too…
Blush For Me is the third book in the Fusion series and I have been having a fun time wThis review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance[image]
Blush For Me is the third book in the Fusion series and I have been having a fun time with this series. I have become hooked on Kristen Proby's writing style and I just get such a fun kick out of her books here. This latest series is pretty wonderful and I love these group of women and their friendship that we see here. I knew I wanted to listen to this book and I was shocked, delightfully so, to see that this series is available on audio at my local library, so I saved myself a credit which I won't complain about that. Blush For Me is a story that we see that is your typical fling trope with some tart and sweet thrown into the mix.
Our story begins with our heroine, Katrina Meyers, who is one of the five women who have started their restaurant together. Kat is in charge of the bar and the specialty in wine. So she takes a trip to a wine conference, but she has a great fear of flying. But her neighbor on the plane, a mysterious but sexy man, helps her through her fear and she is shocked when she sees that he is at the same wine conference as she is. Sparks fly between these two, and they come to an agreement....to a sexacation. A fling of sorts, with no strings attached. Neither of them ever could think that they would meet again. But even though the sex is off the charts, there is something more between Kat and Mac. When Kat returns home though she is shocked to see her "Mac" in her restaurant. And at first, she doesn't know how to react to his presence at first. But both Mac and Kat know that there is a lot more between them than just a casual fling, and they mutually decide to see is between them and explore it.
I will admit that I simply had a fun time with this book, I wouldn't say it's my favorite of the series so far, but a delightful romance that is written here. I am not always on board with the fling trope, but it seemed to really work for the set up of the story. I do think that these two make a great pairing though. Kat can be a bit too stubborn for her own good and a bit "bitchy" at times. I mean she really can be mean at times, although she doesn't mean too but she takes no crap from anyone and can go too far at times. But this is where our fabulous hero comes in. He knows how to handle Kat and her feisty attitude especially in her manner towards him and lets her realize when she crosses the line.
And the SEX is off the charts in this book. WHOOEE!! These two have sparks of SPARKS that is for sure. Mac is very alpha in this book, he likes his own way at times but boy he is the one that dominates the sexy times and its HOT!! I just loved how he is with Kat though and they really know how to get it on. I do think that Kat knows how to handle Mac outside the bedroom so beautifully. She doesn't let him go too far with his alpha ways. But we also see a great friendship that builds between these two as well a great admiration for each other and their passions in their careers and lives.
There is also a bit of a side plot dealing with some drama with Mac's family that I really took a heart to. I really enjoyed seeing this plotline develop and Proby did a great job in not having it detract from the romance and I really loved the bit of suspense that we get in the end of the book, it totally worked for me and seemed to flow evenly through the story. The narrators for this book are two of my favorites and they are SUPERB to listen to together and they really brought out Mac and Kat's personalities so endearingly.
I found Blush For Me to be a story of sensuality, personal growth and a engaging love story that will give you happy feels. OUTSTANDING!!
Burn is the first book in the Dark In You series and somehow I didn’t even know about this series!! I know I am a crazy person but seriously I am realBurn is the first book in the Dark In You series and somehow I didn’t even know about this series!! I know I am a crazy person but seriously I am really remiss….the moment I discovered this series I knew that I needed this book in my life. Its a four book series that focuses on one couple: Knox and Harper. I LOVE series that surround just one couple, its not very common so I just gravitate towards them. Now this series is a bit different from her shifter series “Phoenix and Mercury Pack” series. This series revolves around a world of demonkind and my goodness the world building is stunning. I just fell in love with this world that Suzanne Wright has created for her readers and I might even like this series more than her shifter books *gasp* I know I know…crazy talk but seriously these books were so so good and I couldn’t put them down, I read four books in three days because they were so dang good.
Burn, the first book in the series, begins with our heroine. Harper Wallis, is a tattooist and runs her own shop with a few friends. Harper has always had a fascination with art and is very talented and working in a tattoo shop is the perfect environment for Harper to explore her talent and give back in a small way. She is a member of a small demon lair in north Las Vegas. She loves her simple way of life and doesn’t look for complications, but a very BIG one is about to enter her life. While going out with her cousins and friends to an underground championship of battle between demons, her cousin is going to compete. But then their nemesis who will be battling with Harper’s cousin has her attacked and now she is unable to compete. So Harper has to step in as the challenger. Harper isn’t one to show her battle skills in an arena but she is more than willing to do so now considering what happened to a member of her family. Needless to say she conquers easily since she has certain abilities that very few know about. But then after the battle, she is called into Knox Thorne’s office. Knox Thorne is the prime of the Las Vegas Lairs and one of the most powerful and influential demons in the United States and no one dares cross him.
I don’t just call on the flames of hell, Harper. I am the flames of hell
What Harper doesn’t count on is that after meeting Knox Thorne for the first time, they both learn that they are each other’s anchors. Now anchors are pretty important. Every demon kind has an inner demon that can be hard to control and some demons can go rogue if their inner demons is uncontrollable but an achorbrings balance to that control and is needed to survive in most cases. And now Harper is Knox Thorne’s anchor but there is much more to it than that…there is a sexual need that develops between Harper and Knox. At first Knox just believe his demon is fascinated with a new toy and will soon get bored with Harper just like he has with all the previous affairs that Knox has been in over the years. There has never been one woman who his demon has wanted to be with but Harper isn’t like any woman he has ever been with. She is unexpected, always surprsing him…making him laugh in the most odd moments of the day and his demon continues to be even more fascinated and intrigued with each day passing and even more possessive.
Brace yourself, because I’m going to annoy you, ignore you, and surprise you for as long as we both shall live.” He smiled. “And I’m going to spoil you, fuck you, and – of course – order you around for the rest of our lives.
Harper at first doesn’t know how to handle a man like Knox Thorne, his life is so opposite from her simple one. She knows that she will never be fully accepted in his world though. She is a phoenix but was raised by imps when her mother gave her up for adoption and her grandmother forced her birth father to care for her who just took her on his travels but in the end she ended up taking care of him. It was really her grandmother that showed her any true love and affection and loyalty. She doesn’t trust Knox to not break her heart since she has been disappointed by so many in her life and relies on herself and her small imp family.
But even though Knox doesn’t know what this relationship will turn out to be with Harper, he knows he has to take the risk on Harper because she is worth it to him. He has never been with a woman like her and is sexually intune with her but also fascinated with her on an intellectual level as well. But there is a threat to Harper and neither Knox or his demon will allow any harm to come to their….mate.
I found Burn to be such a thrilling, on the edge of your seat, laugh out loud fun and sexy story that will give you the satisfaction you look for in a power packed romance such as this one!! Not a story you want to miss out on…I guarantee it. GRATIFYING IN EVERY WAY...more
Brooklynaire is the fourth and the most recent installment in the Brooklyn Bruisers serThis review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance[image]
Brooklynaire is the fourth and the most recent installment in the Brooklyn Bruisers series by Sarina Bowen. I swear that you just can never go wrong with picking up a book by Sarina Bowen. Her books are so sexy and endearing and relatable. I feel like each of her books could REALLY happen in real life, her flawed characters are so perfectly written. Now this book is slightly different from the previous books BUT its the most anticipated book of the WHOLE series!! I want to mention first that this is Nate and Rebecca's book. The events that occur in Brooklynaire are events that slowly build in some of the other books in the series so if you have read books 1-3 then you will recognize many things that happen in this book, but we get more focus on the pair here that we get teasers of in the previous books. I do want to point out that I recommend reading this series in order. I normally don't say that especially with books that could be read as stand alone, but I feel like I got more out of Brooklynaire because I did read these books in order. You get glimpses of Nate and Becca in the previous books and the chemistry between them and this is where we see them finally come together and it was DIVINE!!!
Brooklynaire begins in the present day where Rebecca is the office manager for the Brooklyn Bruisers team and she loves her job and has been working for Nate (the new owner of the team for seven years) and they have a close friendship although we get the feel from the first chapter that there is more underneath the surface between them than just mere friendship. But then Rebecca gets a head injury and for weeks she is out of a job and Nate is taking care of her when Becca allows it. Flashbacks occur where the reader sees when Nate and Becca first starting working with Nate and his buddies before they were making the big bucks and the friendship and how Becca was as much a part of their success as the big brain of Nate. But with Nate and Becca being together more, there is more than meets the eye in their relationship. But Becca works for Nate and that puts a wrinkle on their relationship and could prevent them from finding a way to be together unless they find their own way through uncertain waters.
Nate is about ten times more magnetic than an ordinary guy. You’d think after seven years I’d be used to him. But nope.
I simply adored everything about Brooklynaire, to be honest. I have been looking forward to reading Brooklynaire ALL week, to be honest. And yes I listened to this whole series in one week. So I was super excited for Nate's book. Now he is a character I have loved seeing throughout this series. Now, don't get me wrong, I have a love for the billionaire-millionaire heroes and I am so not ashamed of it. But there is something more unique about Nate because he is such a NERD and a sexy one at that. We see how much he loves people around him and will fight for them. He is close to his family, and loves working with technology and his computer programs and is quite goofy at times. My only complaint about his character is that in previous books he didn't seem goofy....he was more socially awkward. But we really don't see that much in this one and I would have liked to see that more, to be honest. However, his character was so blended so well in this story.
My life is constant noise... When you kiss me, everything goes quiet. That's the only time I can forget everyone else.
Another aspect of the story I found different was the POV and the narration. Now we get 1st POV from both Nate and Rebecca and then we have another POV that I want to say is 2nd--maybe? I haven't read a POV like the third aspect before in a romance and it was really interesting. It was more from the viewpoint of the other programmers that have been friends with Nate for YEARS and how Rebecca becomes a part of the team before the world even knew they existed. So I am guessing this is why the narrators were different from the previous books and even though I enjoyed them I do think the narrators from books 1-3 are my preference for these books. But these three narrators did a superb job anyway so I was really impressed with how they handled the unique qualities of this book which is written a bit differently than the others I have tried out from Sarina Bowen.
Now onto our heroine, Rebecca who was such a lovely character. I admit I have been wanting her book ever since reading book one. She is loved by everyone and that speaks for her type of character. She is energetic and sweet and fun to be around. She opens her arms to everyone and loves them unconditionally even if they are a pain to be loved. When her father died she gave up a college degree to help support the family and this is where she got her job as the office manager for Nate. She works for him when it was a handful of programmers with a few computers and a ping pong table before they became big and well known and infamous and before Nate became one of the most renowned billionaires, back when he was just a computer nerd. We see how well she understands people and she can be a bit crafty in her matchmaking skills as we have seen in previous books. She is very gracious though, she allows her sister and her live-in boyfriend to move in with her in her private space and doesn't complain even if she wants to. But she can be so stubborn at times so she does have some flaws.
Everything worthwhile is complicated.
We see the friendship that builds between Nate and Rebecca and that underlying sexual tension. Nate has wanted Becca for YEARS but has never acted on his feelings until one fateful night when they end up in bed together and find out that there is much more to their relationship than just friendship. But Becca is not up to having a relationship with Nate and at first you think its just the conflict of Nate being the boss and Becca his employee but as the story develops we see its much more than that for Becca and she has to overcome certain fears and self-worth that she finds lacking in comparison with Nate. But a good friend helps her see things more clearly and that the love that Nate and Becca have for each other is attainable and that they both deserve a chance to be together no matter what others may think or say.
Overall I found Brooklynaire to be a stunning, heart felt romance that brings together a "tug at the heartstrings" friends to lovers tale that is bound to exhilarate the reader in every way....a MUST READ FOR 2018!!
Hard Hitter is the second book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series by Sarina Bowen and after having a blast with book one “Rookie Move” I just knew that IHard Hitter is the second book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series by Sarina Bowen and after having a blast with book one “Rookie Move” I just knew that I had to have book two in my life. I just couldn’t resist. And as a plus this series can be found in the Audible Romance Package, so if you are a subscriber I can’t recommend these books enough for you. They are superb and the second book succeeded my expectations. I wasn’t sure how this author could make anything better than book one but she did it….somehow much to my great delight
In Hard Hitter, we are introduced to Patrick O’Doul and Ari Bettini. Now Patrick O’Doul is the team captain of the Brooklyn Bruisers and one of the more experienced players. He is also the one in charge of fighting in the rink. But Patrick is getting older, and is starting to feel his injuries more and his energy levels are going down and he can’t afford that. So when a friend hands him some drugs to help him he makes some mistakes but then he realizes he can’t afford to be doing drugs no matter how much they seem to help. When his coach orders him to see Ari, the team’s massage therapist, he is resistant. He can’t stand the touch of others and he is dreading going to see Ari even if he is attracted to her.
Ari has recently gotten out of a long term relationship where her ex became abusive and unhinged and is still causing her problems. But Ari is a glass half full type of personality and hardly anything gets her down. She is a message therapist and yoga instructor. She loves her job with the Brooklyn Bruisers and being able to help the players with their bodies. She is determined to help Patrick, even if he seems to abhor human touch. She knows it is something involved in his past, but she wants to help him and while she assists him in his therapy sessions and aids in his injuries, a relationship begins to slowly form between them especially when he is there for in when she is in danger. But will their careers come between the relationship and will they find the balance that they need?
I simple had a blast with Hard Hitter and its O’Doul’s book. Now in the first book, we are introduced to the team captain and yeah he can put the reader off to be honest. He is a bit too cocky but he has this confidence that is addictive and a bit endearing. Now in the beginning when we see him start on the drugs, I was really nervous because I wasn’t sure how Sarina Bowen would handle this situation. But it isn’t as bad as it sounds, because Patrick doesn’t get addicted to drugs but we do see him have a moment of weakness and lack of judgement but not everyone can be perfect right? I liked that he has some weak spots and vulnerabilities and makes some mistakes and this one will bite him in the booty eventually. Even though Patrick does have a dark past, the book doesn’t focus on that. He isn’t a brooding type of character that is typical of this which I really enjoyed. Patrick has overcome his past for the most part and moved on and become someone that others look up to and admire and respect. I loved seeing more in his character and seeing all that he has overcome.
“Fuck no. You’re the only one who gets to touch me.” “Okay,” she said, pressing on his shoulder, asking him to lie flat again. “It was only a suggestion. I was trying to make you more comfortable.” “Not possible,” he muttered. “I only want you, Ari. For this and all things.”
Now on Ari’s side of things we do see the strength that she has. I loved her determination to forge a fresh start for herself away from her ex although he is becoming a nuisance. We see how even though she has a career she craves a family….a husband and children. She wants to have someone to come home to. I really connected with her character because she knows what she wants and isn’t ashamed of it. She is older though in her thirties, so she has learned through trial and error what is worth searching and fighting for. But she makes her own mistakes and even though she could be a bit judgmental at times, she learns and becomes a better person in this book which I really enjoyed seeing.
You are priceless…I hope you know that.
The romance that develops between these two is so heartfelt. I really liked the whole message therapist and player set up because it brings forth a level of trust and intimacy from the very beginning, before things get hot and heavy between them which I really admired from Sarina Bowen. But there is also the level of dependence they have on each other….in a healthy way though. Patrick struggles with touch and he has to trust in Ari to help him overcome his fears. Ari has her ex acting crazy and violent at times, and Patrick is there when she needs help. I wouldn’t call this a damsel in distress scenario to be honest. Because she is a fighter, and isn’t afraid of doing what is necessary. But he helps her when she needs it and I liked that she didn’t spurn his help. I know in some books the woman has to do everything and be the strongest and fight her own battles which is all well and good but in this book it shows that we all need help sometime and its not a bad thing to accept it when its the right time and place and situation for it.
I found Hard Hitter to be a phenomenal story that swept me up in this story and I just never wanted it to end! A fabulous addition to a great series that is guaranteed to capture the heart of the reader and is a true jewel to enchant!...more

No Other Duke But You is the most recent installment in the Playful Brides series by Valerie Bowman. I have read the majority of the books in this series and I have had such a blast with these books. This author is HIGHLY underrated and when it comes to witty regency romance, she is one of my favorites to read. She has such a sharp wit that she puts into her stories. I wouldn't say that this book is my favorite of the series, however, it was a delightful page turner that had me hooked from the start.
No Other Duke But You begins with a friendship that we see between Thomas, the Duke of Huntley, and Lady Delilah. These two have been friends since they were young and really "get" each other. Thomas has been secretly in love with Delilah though but Delilah has NO clue. She is really blonde in this manner because most of their friends know how much Thomas is in love with Delilah but she is blind to it. Probably due to the friendship that she feels for Thomas. Delilah is a co owner to a matchmaking business but after making all the matches she wants to get married but is in no rush. But when her mother gives her an ultimatum she sets her eye on the most renowned Duke, who is gorgeous and charming and a man who every woman wants. But now Delilah wants him and what begins as a innocent endeavor begins into a mess of complicated relationships and where love comes to one when you least expect it.
So this book was CRAZY but delightfully so!!! I honestly never saw the development of this story and how it grows and boy it is kinda ridiculous in what happens to the characters that come into play in this story. I really liked both of the main characters, and even though Delilah is a bit clueless I understood it because Thomas hides his feelings for her really well. I did enjoy seeing their chemistry grow and so many sweet heartfelt moments that we see develop between them that happens before and after the first kiss which is where their relationship really shows the change in their dynamic. I did like how Thomas' friends become matchmakers themselves (and their stories are all in previous books) so it was fun to see some of my old favorites again and see them get Thomas and Delilah together.
Overall I found this book to be such a charming story that lifted my spirits and left me with all of those happy feels!!!

Texas Legacy is a story that I have been waiting for YEARS for. Now for those not familiar with Rawley or Faith and that means you are missing out on one of the best trilogies I have ever read in romance. This trilogy was written back in the late 90's but some of the best love stories. I only never knew if Lorraine Heath would write this book but when I saw this on Edelweiss I was SUPER excited especially since its a story I have been waiting on for over ten years for. That is a LONG time to wait on a story. Let me tell you. hehe
Faith is the blood daughter of Dallas and Cordeligh Leigh (who is the couple in Texas Glory) Rawley is a boy they brought into their family who was being abused and sold by his father to men. Cordelia formed a strong attachment to Rawley and they brought him into their home and raised him. Faith and Rawley were childhood friends, always playing together but then as they grew older that friendship turned into something deeper than just puppy love. But Rawley didn't feel worthy of Faith, that he was too dirty for her and so he left the only home he had ever known and left her without saying goodbye. But when his father Dallas, has a heart condition and his mother pleads with him to come home he returns home and to Faith. Faith has never completely forgiven Rawley for leaving without even a goodbye. She has loved him for years, but now they Rawley is back for good, the feelings they have for each other. But both Faith and Rawley have old wounds that need to be healed before they accept what they can have together.
Texas Legacy was such a beautifully written story and even though I was *crossing my fingers* for it to be a full novel, I am still happy that Lorraine Heath actually wrote this book because it filled my core with such happy feels. We do get some fun interactions with the Leigh Family and seeing them with their children mostly grown and how playful they are with each other. We see Dallas and Leigh still so in love and happy although fearful of the future due to Dallas' heart condition. But the focus of the story is Rawley and Faith. Faith understands Rawley's past once she learns more than he realizes that she can because Faith underwent a form of abuse by someone she trusted and she became a single mother. We do get a flashback of Rawley and Faith on the evening before Rawley left the ranch and why he left and you can see how much Rawley and Faith were into each other, they just weren't completely open to it. But when they see each other again six years later we see that they are both more mature and independent and sure of themselves. I really enjoyed seeing them reconnect and learn each other again and become open to the love that has always been between them.
I found Texas Legacy to be a fun heart filled romance to give you the tingles and the good feels. Its a story of redemption, healing and letting love in!!!A TEXAS JEWEL!!

Mystic is the second book in the Cat Star Legacy series, and this is my first time actually picking up this author. This is also one of the ARC's I neglected last year and completely forgot about but I am making an effort on working on that list because the guilt is the worst lol and I have to say thanks to Sophia @Delighted Reader and her review, she had me highly intrigued and wanting to read this book and even though I am way late to the game with this book, I am so happy that I picked this book up because yeah this story was good. From the first few pages I was swept very quickly within the story and that doesn't always happen so Cheryl Brooks is definitely getting added to my list of new to me authors I have fallen in love with. I am also really eager to look at her other sci fi series and see how they connect to this one.
Sula is on the hunt for a virus, a virus that killed the man she loved a year previously, one that is more deadly than anything else and reduces one to ash when exposed. But with her on the hunt for the origins, she is also being hunted by the ones responsible who don't want her to know the truth and with her life in danger and alone she wonders how long she will make it. Until an angel appears and saves her life from some ariel creatures. Aiden is a Zetithian mystic, he has special abilities, a winged creature who can see parts into the future. While flying over the wild terrain, he sees Sula in danger and rescues her and takes her to his home. Even though both keep deep secrets from everyone, there is a connection between them and soon their secrets are revealed and join forces including some comrades that join them alongside their adventure to discover the truth.
Mystic was such a fun adventure filled story and I just love these type of road trip adventure sci fi romances, they are simply the best for sure. Mystic definitely had me falling quickly in love not just with the story but the endearing characters, the fated love, the mystery and danger aspect of the plot and plenty more. We also get a virgin for our hero, he is a member of a species that only mate once so it was quite different to see the heroine be the one with experience and be the teacher in the bedroom. Both Sula and Aiden make such a good pair, their story builds slowly, definitely not your typical fated love romance.
We such beautiful intrigue and delightful plot points that thicken with each chapter and with such engaging writing, you just fall deeper into the story in such a dynamic way that leaves the reader eager for more. I was so intrigued with where the story takes you and hope she continues with the series. I can't wait to grab up the first book.
The Iron Knight is the fourth book in the De Russe Legacy, but what is really nice abouThis review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance[image]
The Iron Knight is the fourth book in the De Russe Legacy, but what is really nice about Kathryn Le Veque's style of writing her series is that you don't need to read the books in order of the series. She writes each book to be read as a stand alone if you want. This book was part of the Audible Romance Package and I really had a blast with this book and like usual its packed with so many unique elements that only Le Veque brings to the pages of her stories. What I really like about Le Veque is how well written her books are, they are so rich and detailed and such endearing characters.
The Iron Knight begins with Lucien De Russe, who is also known as the "Iron Knight" he has never been injured in a battle and goes into one with full speed. Lucien has lost his wife and tears through battles and wars hoping to lose himself from the pain and grief that has haunted him and has put a rift in the relationship between himself and his children. A grown son who won't speak to him and a spoiled girl who he can't control. But on one fateful day in 1410 A.D. he is injured and at forty he is to retire his battle armor. Now the king has decided to reward him with a young bride, one that Lucien has no desire to marry. While out on a ride he hears some screams and finds two women stuck in a carriage that is sinking in a lake with a battle between soldiers and bandits. Without thinking about it he rescues the two women and everyone flees instantly including the women's escort.
Lady Sophina de Gournay has been living with her father ever since she became widowed and raising her daughter all by herself. But then her father, who has recently remarried wants his daughter out of his home, he is tired of her presence. And so he arranges a marriage for her and now Sophina will need to remarry once again. But on her way to her intended's home, she and her daughter almost drown from an attack. And the men escorting her abandons her but there is one man who rescues Sophina and her daughter from drowning or worse.
Sophina and Lucien are drawn to each other, from a single ride back to Lucien's home sparks fly between them and its an instant love connection for them. Both Lucien and Sophina are mature adults, they have both experiences love matches in their late marriages and they recognize the signs of how powerful their connection is. But there are some obstacles standing in their way including the fact that they are both betrothed to other people and are both people of honor. But Lucien has found love again and he isn't the Iron Knight for nothing, he will find a way to have Sophina and her sweet daughter with him....
The Iron Knight was so wonderful to listen to and I first off want to give my shout out to the narrator: Brad Wills. I just love and adore this narrator so very much. Now I know that not everyone loves him like I do, but he has such diverse talent and the way he can add in multiple characters so flawlessly is something you don't see from many narrators. And he did such a wonderful job with implementing the voices of all the characters that come into play with this story.
I will admit that before I started this book, I had some apprehension for it mostly because I knew that there would be some conflicts outside the couple, of a more "forbidden" type nature and I wasn't sure if I was in the right frame of mind to read a book like this with this trope because I do need to be in the mood for it. However I can say that this book ROCKED!! I don't know why I doubt Le Veque's work because its amazing. I may not be a fan of her covers, but the books are amazing. This is where you ignore the covers and read the books because they are some of the most well written medieval romances out there. I know some readers that have hesitated in reading this author because of the cover designs and I am telling you TRY KATHRYN LE VEQUE out and you won't be disappointed. Both her physical/ebooks and audiobooks are superb.
What I found most interesting was the family bonds in this book. We have the close tie between Sophina and Emmeline. They understand each other and have the type of mother daughter relationship that anyone could envy. Then we have the relationship that Lucien has with his daughter Susanna. Now Susanna was injured at birth and now struggles in walking. But she is very spoiled and mean and even abusive to the servants who are afraid of a little girl. But the hero is at a loss as to what he is doing wrong with her. But what was really amazing...is the moment that Sophina comes into play something changes with Susanna slowly. Then we have another set of women that you end up falling in love with as well. Lady Juno is Lucien's intended who is accompanied by her father and her cousin Aricia. I just loved the parts that June and Aricia play in this story and the aspect of Aricia being a transgender character. This is not something I don't think I have ever encountered in a historical romance before. And it was so interesting and I am so glad that Le Veque wrote this character in. I do love how gracious Lucien and Sophina are with Aricia and welcoming her and accepting her.
We do have some villains in the story, the main villain being Sophina's fiancee who is a thief and a crook but has remained innocent of charges because he has family connections to the Queen. However, we see in this book how evil this man is and will work anything to his advantage but he gets his justful end that he deserves. I found it very interesting to see how the plot played out overall. There is such a focus on relationships in this book both romantic and platonic friendships. There is such depth of dynamics that come into play with this book. Now for the romance....the ROMANCE folks was simply fantastic here. I just love the building of their relationship. The laughter and teasing that comes into play at the beginning, and the emotion and intimacy that grows with each chapter.
I found The Iron Knight to be captivating and sweeps you back through time, with history and vibrant emotion and a tale that weaves its way through your soul and leaves you with a smile!! STUNNINGLY PENNED!!
Pucked by Helena Hunting is the first book in her Pucked series. I will be honest, evenThis review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance[image]
Pucked by Helena Hunting is the first book in her Pucked series. I will be honest, even with my love of Hockey, I haven't read too many hockey romances. After listening to an author interview on a podcast, I really wanted to read a Helena Hunting and I thought I would start with Pucked, one of the more established books from her that is highly popular. I found this book in the Audible Romance Package and I am so glad that I took a chance on this author because even though this book isn't perfect....it was a fantastic book that I devoured. If you are new to Helena Hunting, I highly recommend this book.
Pucked begins with our heroine, Violet Hall. Her step brother has signed with a new NHL team based in Chicago. Thanks to her step brother, she knows the reality of what hockey players really are and what players they are especially when there are any puck bunnies involved. While going to the first game to see her step brother in action, she catches the eye of one stunning hockey player...the team captain and the star of the game...Alex Water. She is caught by his beautiful eyes and while at the after party with her family, she finds herself being thoroughly kissed by Alex who isn't afraid of her weird nervous antics or her love of literature. But she knows what hockey players are like and she doesn't want to be played by Alex. But Alex slowly works down her barriers and before even realizing she is jumping head first into a relationship with Alex. But she wonders if she will be enough for Alex or is his career more important...
What a great book this turned out to be and man I loved both of these character. Both Alex and Violet are wonderful characters that worm their way into your heart. Now at first, I was curious to see how the author would handle the hockey sport angle. Some authors when writing sport themed romances don't always give enough focus on the sport and yeah Helena Hunting knows her hockey and I really liked seeing it implemented in this book so very seamlessly. It makes you want to watch the sport, that is how well it is done in this book. I would like to point out that its not overdone though, the focus of the book is, of course, the romance.
Alex isn't your typical hockey player and isn't the playboy that everyone thinks that he is. He is pretty down to earth surprisingly. Yes he has this big rumor about him and yes he was a bit of one when he first was signed on his team, but he has matured here and we see the way that he is a good leader on his team even if his temper sometimes gets the better of him on the ice. I love his relationship with his family, especially his sister. He is a sweet talker though and knows how to talk to Violet and he can be so thoughtful and a bit foolish too. He is a man and a bit of an idiot at times especially toward the end...but boy he knows how to grovel so WELL!! And he definitely redeems himself fully.
Violet, is smart and sassy but socially awkward in certain situations and sexual innuendoes tend to pop out of her mouth at random times. She is quirky and a bit of a nerd but is sweet natured. She is slow to trust, hasn't had the best luck in relationships and doesn't look at hockey players very highly thanks to her playboy of a step brother. We see how she battles within herself to open herself to Alex. She wants to believe that he is sincere, but just doesn't know what to believe. Violet is a heroine that you can admire though. She is just getting settled with her career as an accountant, wears glasses and loves to read and is not ashamed to be sexually aware.
The romance that develops between Violet and Alex are full of ups and down but boy I loved seeing them get the ending that they both deserve in the end. On the first look at this pairing, you don't think that they would fit like they do. They are a bit different from each other, however, they really balance each other out and boy the sex is HOT yet silly and fun at times too.
I can’t wait to have my mouth on you again. I’m gonna eat you like I’m on death row and you’re my last goddamned meal.
There is such unique dynamics that come into play in their relationships and misunderstandings that happen from time to time. But you see how much they are into each other, and are making a go of their relationship and not caring what others think. It has a bit of a forbidden feel, but not super strong, but Violet's step brother doesn't want them together and Violet....she is badass when it comes to handling her brother because he is a bit of a hypocrite. Both Alex and Violet are smart and intellectuals though so it adds some depth to the relationship....more than you see from most sport themed romances.
And yes we have a big HUGE scenario that happens at the end....because its a romance and something has to happen right? Especially in a contemporary romance. However, I really fan girl over Alex and the way he makes amends with Violet. He definitely does it in the best way that makes Violet see the real Alex and that he makes mistakes but he never falters in his love to her and I just adored seeing his devotion to Violet and never giving up on her.
Overall Pucked is a sensational romance that is packed with sexy times, fun and flirty moments that leaves you with a smile and such character depth to keep you wanting more....a love story to leave you giddy and wanting your own pucked type of love!! SUPERB!

I have adored this series so much, some of my favorite books that this author has ever written. This Rock Chick gang is so fun and I love their friendships and how they support each other no matter what happens. Of course, with Rock Chick Reckoning I was a bit apprehensive for this book, I was sure I was quite in the right mood for a rock star romance but I picked it up because I was hoping that Kristen Ashley wouldn’t let me down and man…..SHE WON MY MOOD!!! I fell in love with this book and it might just be one of my favorite books of the year so far!! (and yes the year just started so that probably isn’t saying much) hehe
Rock Chick Reckoning begins with our heroine, Stella who is the lead singer and guitarist in the Gypsies band that remains local. Stella breathes and lives music, But there is one place in her life that she aches for….having Mace in her life. He broke up with her over a year ago and she still misses him but her life is going to run into his unexpectedly. When one of her band members girlfriend is murdered and Stella is almost killed with Mace saving her life, she is not the only one in danger.
All the Rock Chicks have their lives threatened and she knows that it won’t be easy surviving this especially with being near Mace again and all the pain he reminds her of. There is an enemy, and with the feds and the Lee Investigations team getting close to bringing down their enemy, he is coming after them with everything that he has and threatening the Rock Chicks and anyone connected to them. But Stella refuses to let this stop her from her music but this is where Stella and Mace come to terms with past mistakes and start anew with learning each other’s secrets and opening their hearts to each other.
Rock Chick Reckoning is a story that is full of emotion and action and I definitely think that this might be my favorite of the series. There was something so raw about this book that just speaks to the reader, the emotion that is immersed in this story is captivating and I wanted Stella and Mace to find the peace they both deserve. Both Stella and Mace have painful pasts: Stella with suffering abuse as a child growing up and learning to survive by living in the black. Then Mace who lose his teenage sister when she was kidnapped and was murdered as revenge against their father who refused to give himself up for her. And it broke something in Mace that he keeps hidden away.
Last night, instead of sleeping,he just lay behind her, listening to her breathe and thinking that sound was sweeter than any song he’d ever heard her sing. And his Stella had a beautiful voice, never heard better
What is the most emotional portion of the story is seeing Stella and Mace open themselves up to the pain they have suffered in the past so that they can open each other’s hearts. And I have to say that at first in the story, you have the typical bantering and fighting between Stella and Mace that we have seen with the previous couples, but it changes in such a moving way once they move past their distrusts and illusions and find out the truths about each other. This is where their relationship really grows and seeing the depth that we see is powerful. Despite the danger that they are in, we see them come to terms with who they are and the pain they have been tortured with for so long. Its truly a story that really makes you look at yourself in a different way and admire these characters and what they achieve.
My heart went into my throat. I leaned back against Luke, his arm moved to wrap around my chest and we watched two people we both cared a lot about. They were in love, they were healed and most of all, they were outrageously happy.
Overall I found Rock Chick Reckoning to be a head over heels installment that will delight and intensify your reading experience, packed with laughs and tears, its a story you won’t ever forget. UNFORGETTABLE
Rock Chick Revenge is the fifth book in this wonderful series andThis review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance[image]
*May Contain Spoilers*
Rock Chick Revenge is the fifth book in this wonderful series and I had a blast with this book. I swear that Kristen Ashley will never write a bad book EVER....every book that I read from her is simply amazing. And Rock Chick Revenge is no exception. Now I thought about giving this book a higher rating but my one complaint about this book is the handcuffing to the BED.....and leaving the heroine there, that just rubs me the wrong way. But honestly, I still LOVED this book quite a bit, despite what the hero does. Now this book I was nervous about and waiting until the end of three weeks of my loan to read it and boy it got close to losing it hehe but I read it just in time with a few hours to spare. :) This story does have a revenge plot with the heroine hating men...now she has had some bad experiences granted but I don't really like these type of gals most of the time but typical KA she won me OVER. She does no wrong in her writing style that is for sure.
Our story sets off with our heroine, Ava, who hates men and she is trying to help a friend Sissy out of trouble with her husband. Sissy is trying to divorce her husband who tried to come onto Ava in a very obvious and not so cool way. And Dom "Sissy's husband" is part of a crime family and divorcing him will NOT be easy. So Ava has one person she knows and probably the one man she doesn't fully hate, to help her out. Who could find some dirt on Dom to free Sissy from him who is currently in hiding from him. But when she arrives at his place of work, she realizes she has made a mistake, she hasn't seen Luke in years and she still loves him. Luke and Ava were childhood friends and both really cared for each other. Ava had abusive sisters and a mother who always saw her as fat and plain but Ava has worked her tail off to shave off the weight, changed her hair to prove to herself that she is worthy of Luke. And boy Luke is mad when he sees her (since he was more than fine with how she was before). But when Luke senses that Ava is in trouble he knows that he has to help her and now that she is back in his life he won't let her go. He isn't a badass alpha for nothing. But there is more danger to Ava than Luke or Lee and his team realizes and with lots of kidnappings, shootings and rock chick club shenanigans....Rock Chick Revenge is a story guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I'm not stupid, I know your heart's involved in this and I've never, not once in all the time you've known me, given you the idea that I won't handle it with care
Rock Chick Revenge is a book that I got so many kicks and giggles out of. Its such a well-written story for sure. Now Kristen Ashley's style of writing is definitely NOT for everyone, so I know that there are some romance readers out there that will not enjoy Kristen Ashley and most especially in her way of writing alpha males. But I adore me some alpha lovin' and the way that Kristen Ashley writes her heroes are so wonderful and work for me in every way. Now I do want to mention that this hero is like all the others...they love handcuffing their women to their beds. But in this book the issue I really had, was Luke leaves for a while when he gets called away on a job and just leaves her handcuffed for hours and I just wasn't okay with that situation. Luke is a great hero though in many other ways, I love the way that he accepts Ava for who she is and has always loved her. He is a bad boy at times, and very caveman in some ways but I got a kick out of him. He wants Ava back in his life both the old Ava that was sweet and funny and the new Ava who is kick ass and keeps him entertained. I did like quite a bit their fun bantering and seeing who would win the argument. Which in hindsight, neither of them really do. It's more of a mutual compromise which is very relatable for real life.
Daisy said to me that I was trying to find ways to protect my heart but I was doing it wrong. She told me the best way to protect my heart was to trust it to someone who will protect it for me. More silence but his body went completely still. “That’s you. It’s always been you.
Now Ava is very BITTER against men and so I was worried if I would like her character much because I don't care for men haters at all. But Ava has had many bad experiences with men screwing with her in different ways so I can see why she could become bitter but when Luke comes back in her life, she starts to see that not all men are the same. Some are bad apples and others aren't so rotten. We see her emotional growth though in this one, in learning the difference and accepting the good and bad parts of herself. I did relate with her in some other ways especially in body image and all, since I think many women can relate to that. And even though she started her changes for a man, it ends up being more for herself in the end and I loved that.
Another fun aspect of the story that I always love is the SUSPENSE. I love a good action set up with lots of intrigue and suspense and boy Kristen Ashley can write suspenseful elements so well. In this book, we have different factors but I enjoyed seeing the story develop and see the pieces of the puzzle really come together in this book. And yes we get so much fun times with the Rock Chick Gang. I love all the members of this gang so far and how they support each other even if that means going against their men at times. (Although there are some men in the group too:) But they really have a strong bond and have each other's backs one hundred percent.
What I did know was that I was someone special to Luke and I always had been, just like he was and always had been to me. And that knowledge made my world tilt so much, I was certain I was going to fall off.
The romance between Luke and Ava is full of a battle of wills, lots of tension and witty bantering and hot sex of course in the only way that KA writes her love scenes. But we also see Luke and Ava come to terms with the past and build something together. They have some issues to be resolved of course, but they also both have loved each other for many years and this is their "second chance" to have something precious together. I adored the way they come together and despite the other conflicts to their story, its very well written!!
Overall I found Rock Chick Revenge to be a powerhouse of a romance....its packed with plenty of emotional punches, rock chick dramatics and tension-filled action to keep you on the EDGE all the way through!!!

I was instantly pulled into the story and I was amazed by how charmed I was by this one. I had forgotten how much this author can have me laughing and it was all over this book. It has strong sexy vibes, she definitely knows how to write her heat. You always get plenty of opposite attracts in this one and even a bit of a grumpy sunshine element where the heroine is a bit of the grump. I liked the dynamic of the hero being in security and the heroine a doctor studying to be a surgeon. you will be entertained as these two maneuver into a relationship and their differing background. I think what I enjoyed the most is seeing them learning to rely on each other and let go of their family ties. Both of their families aren't supportive of them being together, and even though there are mistakes made along the way, they learn to be together and fight for what they have and not let their family bonds get in the way of their relationship. Dirty Charmer was beyond lively and I was utterly charmed all the way through this one. I can't wait to see what this author does with this series! ...more
