Promising take-off, disappointing landing!
Flying is NOT my favorite thing to do, I admit I'm usually slightly nervous until the plane is safely on the ground! This story starts with a delayed 3:29 flight from Hobart to Sydney, but the kicker is "the Death Lady" who has decided to upset the passengers by doing predictions for the entire plane!!! Also known as one wacky fortune teller!
NO THANK YOU!!
First of all, I don't believe in psychics, but still who wants to be burdened with such predictions! I would have wanted to get off the plane A.S.A.P.!
This ended up a mixed bag for me. I was engaged in parts of the storytelling, but some chapters felt like filler and I found the "Cherry" chapters completely uninteresting. There was simply nothing to bring her to life (okay, she is the death lady ...more

Little Lottie has wandered off.....
Her mom is frantic and the search begins....
I was intrigued enough to finish. There was misdirection and red herrings along the way. I had a few theories (all were wrong). Overall, it was too long for a missing child story. I was more than ready for the "wrap up"! The narration also became too frantic and dramatic. Alex seemed like she was about to unravel at any second and her voice was making me anxious. I kept thinking, "Please find her before I lose my mind".
If you don't mind the plot holes and an OTT end, it might be entertaining enough.
I think I've read too many books with this trope, so I'll give it a rest.

A quick little popcorn read!
My first by this author who has many fans and has written a bunch of popular psychological thrillers in the last couple of years. The Passenger is free on KU (at the moment) and I have it on my list to read soon.
I enjoyed his straightforward writing, pacing, and the first person narration from the main players. It is the kind of book you can just zoom through even though the plot was mostly predictable with an underwhelming feel.
The characters are standard with some to cheer for and some to detest. One character I really liked added some wisdom of forgiveness and not being consumed with anger forever. This is a revenge story though, and a fairly standard one.
It was a quick one which doesn't require much thinking, grab your coffee kind of read!
Thanks to NG and the publisher for my arc. OUT March 13, 2022

Celebrated policeman Grant Cliveden dies from a poisoning and student barrister Adam Interesting characters and plot in this courtroom/murder mystery!
Celebrated policeman Grant Cliveden dies from a poisoning and student barrister Adam Green is on the case! Adam was a character I became invested in and was cheering for him along the way. I also enjoyed the phone call chapters of his mom checking up on him and always trying to find him a wifey.
The courtroom drama was surprising at times and the twists were unexpected. The conclusion was a bit far fetched, but possible. Thanks Jayme for putting this series on my radar! I do plan on ordering book two and continuing following Adam and his legal journey!
