I wouldn't recommend it if someone is still going through their healing journey, but i would recommend it to anyone else. it was such a fast read, i was IN IT, ENGROSSED, couldn't stop reading. i was very glad for the 2019 chapters that gave us respite and reassurance that the main character has escaped, has put km, countries, years and healing between her and Cieran. as well as giving us a certainty that she has figured out how to be by herself without men, to get to know herself and fight for her no's instead of surrendering cause of the exhaustion to fight for men to listen to you (even thou, valid, i would never judge her for this, especially after being in her head the whole book). the way she described her codependent relationship to men in general, and how she would just fade and disappear in a depression haze where she wasn't even sure she existed was so raw and it was so well worded, it gave words to many years in my life. I LOVED the relationship she has with her dad so much and it felt so real and sad to read how she was distancing herself from who loved her the most because her dad would have understood something was wrong and she didn't want to see it crumble. also I don't give a fuck about this man and his insecurities about being cheated on, good for her for getting out of it however she could. the ending was still sad tho, hopeful but sad....more
