There were some crafty qualities that really piqued my interest, such as a clockwork heart, a Prince with a curse and a killer sea-monster. I really give this 3.5 stars bc it was well written and entertaining, but just did WOW me. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series, so hoping for a WOW factor there. ...more

Not only did I ask myself if I would hVe made the same decisions as Claire and Agent Brody, but I’m left wondering what our Afterlife will really be like and if it’s possible that it’d be anything like what it was in the story. This was an amazing survival story in a world so skewed that it really makes you question the lines of which we live in. Afterlife is one of the best dystopian books I’ve read in a long time!...more

Lady Hardcastle and her ladies maid Florence Armstrong are a hilarious duo of female sleuths who just love snooping around and causing a ruckus. I absolutely loved this story and the adventures they had. I laughed and gasped and wondered the entire book. I chose to listen to the audible narration for it and was not disappointed at all. I absolutely loved the voice and expressions of the narrator. Highly recommend this book to anyone who need a good whodunnit that is light and funny....more

In the city of Saint Louis, Missouri a lawyer who is struggling with the loss of his beloved wife gets pulled into a murder investigation. Multiple young black delinquents are found buried in a field. Hired by one of the victims little sister, Justin Glass throws himself into figuring out the case of The Lost Boys and bringing the person responsible to Justice. This book touches on the constant issue of how the legal justice system doesn’t function efficiently and that it’s hard to decide where to start to fix it, but it takes someone to begin. It also brings to light a well known issue of white cop vs low income black communities in big cities. This was a quick read that keeps you thinking about the whodunnit, but also causes you to look deeper inside and contemplate the larger issues being addressed. Love books like this!...more

This is a must read for all who enjoy anything about World War II. I’ve never read anything from that period in the point of view of someone who wasn’t working for the allied forces. I love the story of young Pino Lella who journeys from boy to man at the peak of the war, and whose desire to do good brings many challenging choices. The heartbreak of war is depicted very well and just fills you to the brim with emotions. For a novel of about 500 pages the story makes it go quickly. ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed the twist on this classic premise and how the characters felt like they were very well thought out. Creeepyyyy stuff!! Can’t wait to read more from this author!...more

I absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait to read the rest in the series. I am enthralled with the idea of the Eldran and Wildran species, and can’t wait to see what is next for Dion and for Chloe! Highly recommend this book to all who love a good fantasy read, just note there is some gore and violence that is a little tough to swallow....more
