I'm waiting to read Fettweis' take on China*. And North Korea. And the next 12th June (view spoiler)[(but being skeptical about the current administration he said: “they’ll screw up”) (hide spoiler)]
(*"I think they don't see themselves as a military rival". Fettweis said in a Cato Institute presentation . He's not worried about the rise of China.)

When I came here in 1938, I was asked to write an essay at George Washington High School about what it meant to be an American. I wrote that . . . I thought that this was a country where one could walk across the street with one’s head erect.—from a Kissinger farewell speech as secretary of state, January 1977
"The statement: Henry Kissinger is a war criminal, is a statement I've been making for many years. It's not a piece of rhetoric, not a metaphor, it's a job description." - Christopher Hitchens
"Kissinger’s Jewish detractors, nevertheless, have portrayed America’s first Jewish secretary of state as a cold-hearted manipulator, if not a “self-hating Jew” (Sheehan 1976: 173), who did not hesitate to sacrifice Israel’s security for goals and personal aggrandizement." In: "A Jew for all seasons: Henry Kissinger, Jewish expectations and the Yom Kippur War" by Gil Ribak
"Apart from the obvious that he was a monster, my only strong memory of Henry Kissinger is that I lost all respect for Zsa Zsa Gabor when she dated him." Norman Finkelstein on X

"We're in year 65". Thence 35 more years to go. 2049: ends marathon.
With Abe's rush-visit to the USA next week, many wonder about Asia; how will Trump handle the "pivot"? Some speak of "unpredictability", some of "isolationism"; others about "the deal-maker" or even the "outsourcing". True, many "unknowns". The Dragon is watching, in the meantime.
Of the 28 points-plan of Trump's presidency I call for the attention on the 9th: -"Direct Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator".

UPDATE Well, the "candid" Abe/Trump meeting happened a few days ago; one said: "...sends a reassuring signal that despite Trump's rhetoric, things remain more or less on track," .
Yet, the real conundrum still remains : CHINA. I'll be listening and reading and....whatever

UPDATE
A quote from the chinese Global Times, about Monday's conversation between Trump and Xi: "diplomatically impeccable and has bolstered optimism over bilateral relations in the next four years.” "Trump is probably the very American leader who will make strides in reshaping major-power relations in a pragmatic manner.” The paper spoke of "new era". Ain't that good news?
"As a Senator from New York, she supported the 2003 conquest of Iraq. As Secretary of State, her role in the destruction of the Libyan state was much more crucial. First of all, her pressure was important in getting Obama to wage this war. Second, she brags in her memoir Hard Choices of her diplomatic skill in building the NATO-Arab alliance that used the deceptive “no fly zone” U.N. resolution to overthrow and kill Gaddafi. More surreptitiously, she sabotaged efforts by African and South American leaders and even by U.S. military officers to negotiate a peaceful compromise. Finally, her revealed emails show that her closest advisors planned to use her role in the overthrow of Gaddafi to present her as the champion of a successful regime change strategy, to help her win the 2016 presidential election."
