I didn't like this one as well as the first or fourth books, but it's still good military sci-fi.
I did think that a revolutionary named Rob S. Pierre launching a reign of terror on Noveau Paris was a bit heavy-handed, but I guess the historical allusions are part of the fun....more

I think I'm going to have to re-read the others, too, even if they aren't free. I like the older books in the Honor Harrington series much more than the recent ones (which tend to spend a depressing amount of time on the interstellar politics of a made-up universe). The older ones are much more character-oriented....more

It's sensible, even critical to the main premise of the novel, but I still found it distracting. Then I got over it, and the rest of the book kept me up past my bedtime....more
