WTF, did I just read? This was my first ever, bookstagram made me do it. I seriously didn’t know Serial Killer Romance was a thing. Go figure. But seriously, why is it a thing? This girl does not want to get with a serial killer, like ever. Either way, I guess I was intrigued enough to try it.
The writing was surprisingly easy to read, and the flow of the story was so smooth…it sucked me right in, despite the disturbing premise it had going on. I loved how almost every sentence was its own paragraph. Before I knew it, I was a quarter of the way through the book.
So…I’m about 20% into the second book and I’m not all that interested in picking it back up…because it’s primarily been filled with nothing but raunchy sex…I do not need a play-by-play of their entire sex life. Since this book was filled with a lot of actual ‘story’…hopefully, eventually, I’ll get to some actual ‘story’ in the second book, too. Because I have to admit I am curious to see where it’s all going.

This book deals with both life in a cult…and life after escaping that cult. There’s also a mystery involved with a fire that happened at the compound and it was the catalyst that enabled the two characters we follow, Avery and Cole (although those aren’t their real names) to escape the cult. Once rescued, Cole returns to his birth family and Avery is left feeling scared, alone and confused. There are many questions at large, including who set the fire, and who else escaped the fire. I was invested in Avery’s journey to recover her memories and know the truth of what exactly went down the night of the fire. For the most part, I really enjoyed this despite some oddities with the plot involving Cole’s character.
This series of novella-length books are some of the craziest shit I’ve ever read. You could read them for that reason alone. But, if you need more; this was taken from the blurb;
The rule is simple: don't bleed.
For as long as Molly Southbourne can remember, she's been watching herself die. Whenever she bleeds, another molly is born, identical to her in every way and intent on her destruction.
.
While I’m glad I’ve read them all the same, I still don’t believe these books are not without faults; one of which is the stilted/sparse writing style the other is character/plot development suffers from the short format, and the aforementioned writing style. But overall, the first book will kind of blow your mind, the second book fills in a few blanks and has a surprising ending and the final book, which I never knew was coming, gives you some, and I’m stressing the word some, insight as to how Molly ended up like this.

You should really read up on what the Miranda Obsession is...there's a Vanity Fair article that I found when I googled it. I think it might help you enjoy this a little more than I did since I didn't look it up until after I listened to it....more
