I liked this book much more than the first book, maybe it was the fact that it was an adventure/traveling story for the most part. My only qualm with this book is that there was no love triangle... does that make me a bad person? I really liked Asher, and completely understood why he did what he did, misinformed and misguided as it was; however, everyone is all about Kadesh... um he lied for like 2 books for NO reason at all. Actually he had a reason, a dumb reason, but it's cool because he said I love you, and now lets fight my betroth, who apparently is CRAY CRAY, and let's fight Horem because he too is CRAY CRAY. WTF... But I liked Asher, and I liked when Jayden was pretty much alone or with Asher, she seemed stronger, more herself. I am not delusional enough to imagine anything with transpire between the two, but when she's with Kadesh she's more dependent and less like the girl who faced the wrath of her betroth and the desert to find the man she loved, who she thought was dead.
