The Great Gatsby is an incredible book. As a high school student I don't think I appreciated it as much as older people. It shows what people think is the American Dream. Jay Gatsby was a charmer and his money wasn't clean, he was a bootlegger.
I agree with most of the reviews on here, it would not have had the same sensation if the narrator was somebody else for example Daisy or Gatsby. Nick was a great choice as a narrator because you were told equal amount about Gatsby and Daisy. I'm astonished by how long Gatsby waited for Daisy. You don't see that often which makes the book A little more interesting. Gatsby had this dream of having Daisy and being wealthy. Unfortunate I look at Daisy as a Fairy because fairies aren't real and Daisy is so perfect that Gatsby can't get her it's to good to be true.
What I did not like was how is was written at times because I didn't always catch on.
