AMAZING! I mean this may be one of my favorite books ever. I had a feeling this story was really going to impact me and so I took my time with reading it. As you get older, you look back more and more at how the world has changed from your parents and your own perspective. In order to not age myself too much, I’ll avoid listing all the ways (all I’ll say is mobile phones!).
When I started reading, I wasn’t sure where this was all going to go. The life story of Cyril Avery and those that impact his life doesn’t do it justice! A chapter/time period would end at a climax and I needed to know what happened next and slowly the revealing process would begin only to end in another cliff hanging moment. I didn’t want it to end and so terribly sad it has! (I really wanted to hear Cyril’s speech at his mom’s wedding, which I did NOT see coming but loved it!)
I can’t praise this touching, well written novel enough. Thank you for a great story and trip!
