I listened to the audiobook, narrated by the author.

The book was a mix of autobiography and political commentary. Bell is interesting, thoughtful, funny, and honest. The biographical portions were poignant and cathartic. As a white person, I felt called out to do more, and I will take his call outs to heart.

I felt like Bell spent a fair bit of time talking about how Totally Biased failed because of Everyone But Him, mostly in Chapter 8 (My Awkward Failure As A Late-Night Talk Show Host), which honestly didn't match with the humble, honest, and self-examining tone of the rest of the book. That chapter was also pretty repetitive, while the rest of the book was much tighter. I wonder if that chapter was tacked on at the last minute?

In general, though, the book was amazing - heartfelt, entertaining, and galvanizing. I will definitely be checking out more of Bell's work.
