“This Cruel Love” de Nikki J. Summers es el segundo libro que leo de esta historia y es una historia stand-alone, dulce con algún que otro elemento dark.

Ryley Emerson está muy feliz con su novio de secundaria Justin, y no ve otra felicidad distinta a la que está viviendo en este momento. Aunque los múltiples engaños de Justin hacen que su corazón se rompa en cada momento, intenta ayudarlo sin saber dónde se está metiendo en realidad, cayendo en las garras de Jackson Caine.

No sé porque, pero esta historia se me hizo un poco larga. Desde el principio estuve enganchada a la historia porque quería saber que pasaba y que unía a ambos personajes. Y es en el final cuando se le añade un poco de acción lo que hace que mejore.

Esto no es sólo sexo para mí, Riley. No quiero ser tu chico de rebote. Quiero ser el chico.

Ryley tiene un novio que de verdad es mejor que hubiera huido de él, pero ella intenta ayudarlo, lo que hace conocer a Jackson. Me hubiera gustado ver un poco que dejara atrás ese comportamiento un poco soso y se hubiera puesto un poco más echa una furia cuando descubre quien es Jackson.

Jackson si es un personaje algo oscuro con una venganza planeada, con cada paso super meditado. Me gusto esa parte suya, pero le faltó algo más respecto a la relación con Ryley. Hay pocos capítulos desde su punto de vista y por ello no se conoce muy a fondo el deseo que tiene hacia Ryley. Eso lo he eche muchísimo en falta.

Quien sí me llamo la atención fue Cillian. Ese hombre abría la boca y cada frase que decía me ganaba más. Gracias a él y solo él hizo que Jackson abriera los ojos y también Ryley. Por ello le debo mucho a este personaje.

Ryley Emerson is happy with his high school boyfriend Justin. She sees no other happiness than the one she is living right now. Even though Justin's multiple deceptions make his heartbreak at every moment, she tries to help him without knowing what she is getting into, falling into the Jackson Caine's spell.

I don't know why, but this story got a little too long for me. From the beginning, I was hooked on the story because I wanted to know what was going on, what brought the two characters together. It's in the end when a little action is added that makes it better.

This isn't just about sex for me Riley. I don't want to be your rebound guy. I want to be the guy.

Ryley has a boyfriend who really should have run away from him, but she tries to help him, which is what makes her meet Jackson. I would have liked to have seen her leave behind that slightly bland behavior and get a little angrier when she finds out who Jackson is.

Jackson is a rather dark character with planned revenge, with every step extra thoughtful. I liked that part of him, but he lacked something else about the relationship with Ryley. There are few chapters from his point of view, and therefore it' s not very well known the desire he has towards Ryley. I have missed that very much.

The one who caught my attention was Cillian. That man opened his mouth, and every sentence he said, earned me more. Thanks to him, Jackson woke up, and so did Ryley. So I owe a lot to this character.
