“Promise me” de Ashlee rose es un libro new adult en el que se divide en dos partes, el comienzo de su amor y años después de la partida del personaje masculino. En este también forman partes elementos como el suspense y los trastornos, siguiendo con temática bully pero tampoco es que se aprecie mucho.

Darcey siempre tienen en su punto de mira a Conor ‘King’ Royce, mejor amigo de su hermano y prácticamente el chico que cualquiera puede desear. Connor la desea, quiere que sea suya, pero para eso tendrá q hacer que las salvaguardas que ella tiene bajen. Pero la distancia y el tiempo impedirán que ambos tengan la relación que ellos esperan.

Al principio del libro me encantó como los personajes tienen ese tira y afloja que los estaba consumiendo, pero en parte divertido. Una relación que Connor tenía ganas, la quería, pero múltiples factores que hace no sean tan rápidos el comienzo.

El cambio de una parte a otra, el tiempo y el espacio, es duro para lo personajes y rápido para el lector, aun así, Connor añade una vuelta difícil. Darcey supo mantenerse en pie durante ese tiempo, siendo un personaje que, aunque paseen cosas difíciles, nunca dejará de superarse.

"Aunque seas lo suficientemente mayor para que te toque, no sucederá. Todavía no, de todas formas. No olvides que me perteneces, nena".

Te envuelve en una historia que me pareció muy tierna y que se notan los rasgos que identifican a la autora. Además, te engancha y en nada lo lees, sin olvidarte de que te enamoras de Connor.

Darcey always has Conor 'King' Royce in his sights, his brother's best friend, and practically the guy that anyone could want. Connor wants her, he wants to own her, but for that to happen, he's going to have to bring down the safeguards she has. But distance and time will prevent both of them from having the relationship they expect.

At the beginning of the book, I loved how the characters have this tug-of-war that was consuming them, but it was partly fun. A relationship that Connor wanted, but multiple factors make it not go so fast at the beginning.

The change from one part to another, time and space, is hard for the characters and fast for the reader, yet Connor adds a twist. Darcey knew how to keep himself up during that time, being a character that even if difficult things happen, she will never stop improving.

“Even though you’re legally old enough for me to touch you, it won’t happen. Not yet, anyway. Just don’t forget you belong to me, baby girl.”

It wraps you up in a story that I thought was very tender and that you can see the features that identify the author. Besides, it hooks you, and you immediately read it, without forgetting that you fall in love with Connor.
