To really enjoy this book I had to suspend the reality of legal police and court procedures, once I had accomplished that, it was very entertaining.
Molly Gray is a maid. Yes, Molly the Maid, and she works at a large New York hotel with a doorman and everything. Molly isn't normal, she doesn't understand the same as most people, she is very literal and lives by rules. But she is a happy person and loves her job. Being a maid is an important part of hotel service and there is pride in any job well done.
Molly is friendly with the wife of a rich man who regularly stays in the hotel. The wife is rather deceitful but is more of a 'good egg' than not. The husband is an abusive ball of poop. Everything goes well until Molly finds Mr. Black dead. Yes, dead, dead in his bed. From there it is a downhill slide.
What a cute book, the characters are just right!
