This is a really mixed bag for me and there are spoilers ahead. I really wanted to love this book and it started off really promising but then I struggled in the middle and then was thrown for a loop with the ending.

So this is clearly the first in a series having read the whole book but that isn’t clear originally as you get a fair way through the prophesy by the middle of the book.

I loved Zaya to begin with and she came across so strong and fierce but then as the book went on she became weaker and just seemed to follow whatever directions she was given by the various people around her. She had such a strong view on Lycans and then happily went off to find her hybrid fated mate and jumped straight into bed with him practically the minute they met.

I loved the underlying chemistry with Ryder and wish that there was a bit more of that with Corbin and Ayrn rather than the insta-sex we got with them.

This definitely gives me underworld vibes but there are some real issues here that detracted from the story for me and made it a challenge to continue.
