it was amazing

Loved this book. This a raw, inside look of the medical field inside the high stress environment of the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. It is a glimpse into the underworld of medicine. This book is fiction but it is gripping and feels real. The author details the roller coaster ride of Dr. Philson who is accepts a job at Children's Hospital of Biloxi to build cardiac ICU and improve the care for underprivileged children in an institution that has limited resources and is still recovering from the after effects of a major hurricane. I couldn't put this book down. It is emotional, thought-provoking, and will leave you wondering what will happen next. It is a warning about the detrimental effects of Burnout, in healthcare and in every profession. Dedication taken too far can have catastrophic consequences on your personal life. This book should be made into a movie, it really has it all. This is must read!
