Wilkes (Heart River Valley: Rugged Mountain Men, #3)

It's back to Heart River Valley and the brothers who are sinfully hot, too hot for their own good, and certainly hot enough to make me blush as I read!
This time, as the title tells us, the focus is on Wilkes. Wilkes is the brother whose heart was broken by his high school crush. At that time they were friends, well they were until Wilkes realised that feeling in his chest meant he wanted to be more than friends and he kissed her. When she kissed him back he knew it was right for them both. The problem? The very next day she was gone, without a word. There has not been a word in eight years...
When Wren left eight years ago she was terrified. Threatened by her stepfather after overhearing a conversation about his criminal actions she was taken away and told to never speak of anything that she knew. For eight years she has lived with that but now he is dead and she feels free. Free enough to return to the town she grew up in. To find Wilkes. To explain everything. And she does. And he still cannot resist her, the chemistry is too strong but so are the emotions. Is Wilkes about to ghost Wren?
A broken snowmobile will bring them back together a few days later and this could be the moment when the walls between them break and crumble when they both open their hearts and when they both admit to the depth of feeling they have never lost.
This is a short, steamy and incredibly romantic story. There are moments when you may want to shout at Wilkes, or Wren, or both of them - in frustration that they apparently can't or won't see what is in front of them - such is the power of the writing. A fabulous story, a beautiful second-chance romance and now one less gorgeous single man in the Heart River Valley!.
