bookshelves: dystopian

A quick, fluffy dystopian read. I liked the sense of humour, the schizoprenic mom, the non insta-love. The only thing that really bugged me is that Penryn, a 100 pound teenage girl with no formal training, could kick everyone's asses - soldiers, street gang members, angels etc. Even though I easily "believed" in the more fantastical elements in World After like fallen angels, zombie sisters, and scorpions bred from humans, the supergirl part of the book just did not work for me.

Steve I think it would be more realistic if the teenage girl's fate depended on speedy thumb typing of a text message. :-)
