The first half of the book left me feeling very nostalgic, taking me back to my own little stint as a young teenager working at a local carnival – yep I had carney folk as family!
The story, set in the 70’s had a lovely vintage feel to it and even though the story was predictable with no surprises or typical Stephen King horror I enjoyed it.
Had I read this instead of listening I think I would have been much more harsh with my rating but audio books are sometimes more forgiving with slightly weaker stories if the narration is done well.
