Throne of Glass was the series that first got me back into reading, and this end is certainly bittersweet. I have faithfully followed these books for years and I am both sad and happy to have finally finished this book. Aelin has come a long way, and I'm very glad none of my babies died. That isn't to say there aren't any deaths in here. No, Maas plays no games. This massive book made me cry twice, full on sobs I had to hide at home and in public. Some people may complain about the lack of plot. I do not see such a thing. This is a war book guys. Of course most of the story is going to focus on battles. Still, there was also the overarching journey of everyone making their way to Terrasen. This is a brutal book, and dark things are within these pages. It was hard reading some of the things in this, especially the scenes of Aelin's torture.

This has come a long way from ToG. From assassin to queen, Aelin has come a long way. Same with Dorian and Chaol. Manon most of all I think. Her journey especially, is what broke me. Her and the Thirteen.

There isn't much more for me to say. This is the end I hoped for. It kept me reading night after night, page after page. I am a little sad it is over, but I look forward to Maas' next series, and the continuation of ACOTAR. This series will always hold a special place in my heart.

Also, loved the Night Court cameo she managed to sneak in.
