4.5 Phenomenal Omegaverse Stars

"I feel like I'm a little bit...crazy? This morning, when Ronan answered his phone during breakfast, I instantly whined for his full attention. That one was so embarrassing, I nearly ran out of the house to begin a new life.
…And then cried about how horribly sad I would be if I actually left."

In this story, we meet Megara (Meg), a 24-year-old omega who is utterly alone in the world. Her mother was a lone alpha who expected Meg to become an alpha as well. Mother taught Meg all the essentials of being an alpha while subtly demeaning anything to do with being an omega. When Mother died suddenly when Meg was only 14, Meg was left to grow up in group homes, completely shocked and appalled when she presented as an omega.

Now, as an adult, Meg suppresses her omega instincts, ashamed of her designation and doing everything to deny it. Desperate for a job and healthcare coverage, she pretends to be a beta and applies to be the social media manager for an NFL team owned by the Ash Pack. But the Ash Pack are her scent-sensitive, fated mates, and her life is about to be turned upside down.

First, this author is so incredibly talented that I'm blown away! She brought out all the feels in this novel. I laughed, cried happy tears, sobbed, and felt devastated. I was so overwhelmed by all of the feelings this author was able to evoke—it was really impressive

That said, not all of those feelings were positive. One of the four alphas, Declan, is an absolute jerkwad for about 75-80% of the story. Yes, I get that he has deep-seated emotional trauma, and yes, I understand he wasn’t quite as terrible as it seemed from Meg’s perspective. Still, some groveling, apologizing, or making amends would have been nice, instead of simply moving on together after the issues were resolved.

Anyone who reads my reviews knows I’m not very forgiving when it comes to men treating the FMC like trash. But somehow—I’m pretty sure black magic was involved—I was able to forgive Declan and didn’t have any lingering resentment by the end. I honestly don’t know how the author pulled that off.

Anyway, this book has become one of my all-time favorite sweet-omegaverse novels, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
