did not like it

Nope.

I hated the main character from the start. He is a 14 year old boy leading a gang of ex-convicts. He is the anti-hero, with the book opening detailing his rape of farmer's daughters, and frequent visualizations of just about every person he meets dying to his blade in their chest or cutting off their head. Yeah we get it. You have to be cruel and disgusting to be the leader and you are the young boy that is so "bad" he frightens ghosts.... Riiight.

At some point I just stopped caring.

At least it was short. Although it should have ended after (view spoiler). That would have made a much better book.

Dude I totally agree with that spoiler

Kaora Haha! Sorry it sucked for you but also glad you've joined the dark side.

Anne This one has such divided reviews! I liked it, but I also agree with everything you said...if that makes sense?

Kaora Haha. Some people are into it. For me I had a hard to believing in a teenager being followed by a bunch of convicts and as a result couldn't get into it.

Greg (adds 2 TBR list daily) Hersom It's definitely not for everyone. It's one of my favorites but I won't deny that I'm a little twisted.

Artemas Good review. I also did not see what all the hype was about with this book.

Sanja Bizarre!

Luna. ✨ Great review kaora, I'm still on the fence with this one some things I love most things I didn't haha

Soto If you read the book, you'd he was 11 years old at the start and the entire "frightening" ghost thing was clearly explained it wasn't him that scared them at all.

Brant In the end, it's just a book of fiction - a story arch. Seems like people are reading it as if it's a non-fiction biography. There is so much worse on the internet, movies, and the news that are gratuitous. This book should make you want some justice and wrangle with difficult situations. But if you just don't like it because it's too hard to read, then don't. That's the great thing about a book - you can' close it, not continue and never open it again.

Miss Naseweis I 100% agree. This "I'm such a bad boy and have to stab and kill everyone and everything" was so overdone.

Holden Matthews-Cochran Well... This is what grimdark is about my guy. I think this guy did it VERY well, the rape was just part of it and to get the reader to know, 'this guy is fucked up. Don't think this is going to be a soft story.'

Kaora Cool "guy". Your own review is the place for those thoughts :)

Kenneth Bjerhof If people think Grimdark is all rape and unlikeable characters, then they clearly don't know what Grimdark is.

And completely agree with your review, it was a battle getting through it, mostly because the only real character in it was Jorg and he was incredibly unlikeable and just seemed like an attempt at making an "edgy" character.

Anders Completely agree with this review. If this books title was "Look mom I am so edgy" it would probably be more fitting...

Thomas Thanks for the spoiler, cunt
