Maria (mariasaleem) | 6 comments I've been a special princess and not reading as much since I went to uni and even less with a 9-5. Everybody else seems to be doing just fine! I forgot that forcing doesn't help. So I should read whatever I'm in the mood for.

Currently reading: Maybe You Should Talk to Someone A Therapist, Her Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed by Lori Gottlieb and it's so good! Tells the author's career history (how she got to be a therapist), her landing into therapy, of course, and anecdotes from her own practice

Here's what I enjoyed this year:

The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic (Shopaholic, #1) by Sophie Kinsella you're allowed to judge lol, but it was a happy read AND had deep nuances too, like sexism in finance, imposter syndrome and hope in chasing your dreams. To be honest, it touched me quite a bit.

Lost to the World A Memoir of Faith, Family and Five Years in Terrorist Captivity by Shahbaz Taseer (despite what it looks like, guys, I don't read non fiction that much. But this was a killer punch. Recommended).

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson - a fun summer read. Would recommend! (if you can get past the YA vibe and really enjoy the friendship moments!)
