Mandy (mandypants) The UK and Ireland should be separate countries. The UK consists of Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and England. The Republic of Ireland itself is another country. Hope this helps. Just thought I should answer your question. :-)

Lisarenee | 7659 comments So if someone doesn't specifically refer to the author's country as Northern Ireland I should assume it's the Republic of Ireland? Thanks.

message 24: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments I found another series you might like by Jake Needham. He is an American expat author and script writer living in Thailand. Not sure where you'd count him.

Laundry Man
Killing Plato
A World of Trouble
The King of Macau

It's set in Thailand and although I've never been there, he makes you feel like you can taste and smell and feel the atmosphere. Another Jack to add to the list, Jack Sheppard is an American expat Law Proffessor and financial guru wandering into friends' problems and trying to stay out of trouble.
