This challenge is a nod to the complexities of Brittish urban planning and is inspired by one of my preferred quotes in Good Omens.

Many phenomena - wars, plagues, sudden audits - have been advanced as evidence for the hidden hand of Satan in the affairs of Man, but whenever students of demonology get together the M25 London orbital motorway is generally agreed to be among the top contenders for exhibit A.

Rules:

*Read 5 books from each of the 5 categories listed below, plus a bonus book, for a total of 26 books.

*You must link the author's names to the first/last letter. i.e.; Yasmine Galenorn, Gail Carriger, Carolyn Jewel, Jeaniene Frost, etc.

*Author name chain cannot be broken. Must link all 5 books within each set AND between sets.

*One 'non-genre' book may be used in each of the five rounds, BUT the genre concept must then fall into the title. i.e.; you may choose a book without shifters in it(like a thriller, mystery, or romance), but it must have one of the related words in the title. Words such as shift, shape, wolf, dragon, cat(any kind), moon, etc. in the title would be acceptable.

*Rereads are allowed.

*Three anthologies are allowed but the core of the work must meet the theme requirement for that 'circle'. These are your 'Free Spin' tokens as you are permitted to use any of the authors who have work in the collection.

This is just a tip for putting to gether your list. Mine went together quite smoothly because I went backward. Just start at the bottom with your first choice then you can sort your folders by author and the alphabet aspect is already lined up for you! Easy(ish). ;)

Nope, you can read in any order you want. :) You can also change out any book you want (challenging, but you can) at any time during the challenge.

Did you see my tip on starting from the bottom? If you start there, then you can sort your to read folders alphabetically. :).

It might save your head....or your poor wall. hehe

A lot of my problem is that I only have about half my books on GR.

So - start with #5 YA???? Isn't it just the same problem, but backwards????? Or am I just being dense cuz it's getting late?

Yeah, start with one YA book. Then I went to my YA folder, sorted alphabetically, and just went straight to the appropriate letter of the alphabet. And so on....

When I got to a new category, I just changed folders, sorted alphabetically again, and went from there.

The 'not all books in GR, will make it harder. As long as you have the majority of your authors represented though, you should be OK. You can just list authors if you like and choose the books as you go.

OK - I just realized that my Magic set won't work anyway.... I don't have a YA with a last name that starts with "I". :(

I'll work on it this weekend. If I'm lucky there will be some Project Runway reruns on. Hearing "Make it work" over and over should help!!!

How was City of Fallen Angels? I've only read the first but have some more Clare on my list for this challenge. Good? Fair? OK I guess? Good god, why did I read that?

City of Fallen Angels was good. I gave it 5 stars but I think to be honest I was expecting it to upset me at the end and have a huge cliff hanger. I was expecting that from her previous books. I think because I went into it knowing that the story would be continued in another book I was ok with it.

I had checked this book out from the library once before too and didn't get to far in (50 pages maybe). I really think it was my mind set that stopped me from enjoying it as much the first attempt.

A lot of the story is from Simon's point of view and I find him a little whiny but later there was a lot more Jace and Clary.

Overall I'd say you have to be in the right frame of mind, Ok with the cliffy and whiny Simon and it is good.

Word of advice, when you read the second one make sure you have the third one on hand to read right after. I HATE cliffhangers.

This was really hard to sort out, does it have to make a loop or just a chain, if it is a loop my last book doesn't work as it doesn't link to the first.

It just has to be a chain. The first letter of your first authors last name must be the same first letter of your next authors first name.

Your first person is Scott Tracey so your next person needs to have a first name that starts with T .

It is easiest (for me at least) to start at the bottom then work up, since you can sort goodreads by author last name. It is easier to find a last name beginging with a specific letter than a first name.

Only 1 more to go. Man am I cutting it close.
