Melvin grew up most of his life on the Yavapai-Prescott Tribe reservation. He first got exposed to hip-hop after listening to Three 6 Mafia. After listening to rap music at a young age, Melvin started to freestyle rap with his cousins and friends. Melvin then started to proceed as a music career and recorded music with his cousin's Jesse Ray Rice (Tha Breadman), Justin Rice (Donnie Don), & his Brother Jason Johnson (Lil Smurf). Then he noticed that his other cousins and uncles has talents as well (such as): Drawing, Tattooing, Acting, & Making Art out of Wood. Especially his father Ted Gustavo Rice, could draw and drill art out of wood or stone and make tables out of them. He also found out at the age 16 years old that his cousin Stan Rice, was in Billy Jack 1971 playing as Martin. While Melvin was in his teenage age, Ted made his son a wolf howling and a eagle flying coffee table. While growing up Melvin still is finding his red road but still wants to help others first.
In 2010 Melvin Star Rice started to begin his career in Rap music. He recorded his music in his bedroom then releasing them onto SoundCloud. He Record music with his cousin Jesse Ray Rice (Tha Breadman) in the beginning and then started to do solo music from their. Melvin then met Jason Johnson (Lil Smurf) in 2012 from his Uncle/Godfather Robert Luther Rice (GoodKnife) Sweat Lodges on the reservation. Melvin and Jason became really good friends to the point they called each other brothers. GoodKnife spiritually adopted Jason as his godson. While making music with Lil Smurf and Tha Breadman, Melvin wanted to do more then just make music.
In 2017, Melvin was working at Hassayampa Inn as a Laundry person. While one day Melvin was ironing one of the sheets with his supervisor, Melvin started to see a young Chinese Boy in the 1800s who kept peeking out when Melvin looked at him. On one of his days off he spent time with his family on the reservation and notice that his Uncle/Godfather GoodKnife was in a hurry to leave to go smudge someone's house. Melvin volunteered to help and go with his Uncle. GoodKnife told him if he wanted to go to jump in because he is leaving now. So Melvin did and they both was on there way to the house. While on the way to the house, couple blocks away Melvin started to have his side stomach ache like something was twisted it, at the same time GoodKnife back was hurting. When finished Melvin noticed he had a size of a quarter goosebumps on his arms and saw how happy the family was so Melvin wanted to jump into the Paranormal field. Melvin then created GhostLand-Paranormal Investigators. On 2019, Melvin started a new job at the Prescott Resort & Conference Center and met Chenoa Durden and became best friends with her. One day sometime gave an impression that Chenoa used to do Ghost Hunting long time ago so Melvin started to bug her to go Ghost Hunting with him. Of course Chenoa denied Melvin but Melvin never stopped asking. One day after Melvin got finished baring his father Ted Gustavo Rice in March 12, 2020, he started to be in a deep severe depression stage. Melvin never came out of his bedroom, never went outside of the house, he was locked up in his room. Chenoa drove to his house and told Melvin, go head a buy a camera and everything I do I do free plus being part owner free. So Melvin started purchasing a lot of Ghost Hunting equipment and both started to go around in Arizona and Ghost Hunted. Melvin not only looks up to his Uncle GoodKnife but he also looks up to Ed & Llorainne Warren as his idols. Melvin uncles & cousins has been Smudging families homes from generation to generation. My family is like the Supernatural (TV series) but as Native American. If we don't do it who will? No trying to push other Paranormal Investigators down but some of them don't know what they are actually doing when trying to remove evil entities and if they do it wrong or during the process of removal if they get pushed, thrown, or even worse. What will they do? Will they get back up and keep fighting or will they just run away? Melvin says.
