The future is here, and it’s wearing an extremely threatening reindeer jumper. In all seriousness, AI is causing a lot of hand-wringing in the creative community. At least twice a week, well-meaning family members ask us “Is ChatGPT gonna take your job?” Here are some ways we’ve been embracing AI, without fear of being replaced: 🤖Use it as a starting point. AI can do some preliminary research, give you a broad outline, or even some clever puns. But these always have to be cross-checked, proofread and, more importantly, filtered through a creative direction. 🤖Use it to save time. AI time-management tools can help identify inefficiencies and re-jig your calendars. These can be super helpful, but always needs a human lens to check that the extra efficiencies aren’t coming at creative or personal cost. 🤖Use it to up your weird factor. AI comes up with some truly strange and unsettling stuff. But sometimes that’s where the magic is; in the weird phrasing, uncanny visuals or off-beat terminology.
