Proposed merger to ECAC Hockey

This article is redundant to ECAC Hockey and should be merged in. Most of the material is already there; what material is not can easily be added. Powers ^T 23:01, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I would do the same that Ravenswing is suggestion. Different sports should have different articles. One is men's hockey the other is women's hockey. -DJSasso (talk) 11:52, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- That's not two different sports; it's one sport. Besides, ECAC Hockey is a single league, like SUNYAC or Hockey East or even Big Ten. Powers ^T 17:55, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  - That is two sports, one is men's hockey and one is women's hockey. They are variations of the same basic sport but they are two separate sports with their own teams playing in their own leagues. ECAC has two leagues, one women's and one men's. -DJSasso (talk) 19:46, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    - It's not two different sports, it's one sport played by two genders. I admit I should have written "conference" instead of "league" -- it's a single conference, with one history, one commissioner, one headquarters, and one web site. I can find no other athletic conferences that have articles split by sport, let alone that are split by gender. Why treat ECAC Hockey differently? Powers ^T 20:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Strong support. It's one sport and one conference that just happens to have divisions for both sexes. Don't forget that this is the ONLY D-I hockey conference in which all member schools participate with both men's and women's teams. — Dale Arnett (talk) 07:36, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
