Anon

Hi Sarvagnya, I see that the anon is making edits only to talk pages. S/he appears to be fanatical about Tamil language. Ignore them if they're just trolling in talk pages. Tell me if they cause any trouble with articles. We need to warn them using templates like {{test-n}} etc., before taking action on him. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 06:13, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!!

Thanks for your award. It surely feels good to be recognised. I will continue the effort.

Dinesh Kannambadi

Belgaum article needs a neutral approach

I wont so-called vandalise if u modify those article so as to have an NEUTRAL approach rather then a present pro-kannadi.

And please I wont appreciate such swearings and warnings when I know im not doing anything wrong. (mahawiki 08:10, 28 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Truth will prevail

Make that article and border-problem para NEUTRAL.

Vandalism on Belaon page

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you.

STOP PUSHING YOUR POV ON THE BORDER ISSUE ON BELAGAVI. IF YOU WANT TO WRITE OR MAKE CHANGES WHAT YOU ARE WRITING THERE, CITE YOUR SOURCES. (mahawiki 08:37, 28 August 2006 (UTC)) I AM DEMANDING NEUTRAL APPROACH.STOP POSTING AGAINST MAHARASHTRA GOVERMENT.[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. References are already for the Mahajan commission report. Stop the vandalism NOW!! (mahawiki 08:37, 28 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Sarvagnya, the issue needs an involved reading and I don't have that much free time now. Please ask in the noticeboard. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 09:27, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:3RR

Hi. I read your comment on the notice-board. Please do not revert further. You have already broken rules. See WP:3RR. I will give my suggestions soon. If you continue this then both of you will be blocked regardless of who may be right. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 18:57, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Belgaum

Hi. I have made a few changes in the article Belgaum. See this. I have kept the use of Belgaum as a name as Belgaum is the more popular name used by the people and more importantly the media (as it is verifiable). I could not fathom what you people were fighting about. Please do not remove any citations from the text. Make changes to cited text only after discussion on the talk page. Do not revert each other again for 1-2 days on any article. I do not have time to make chages to the Belgaum district article but you could copy-paste the "Border Problem" section for now. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 19:36, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I have made changes to both the article now. Hope you agree with the changes. Mahawiki has agreed to the changes. If you have any problem with the changes I have made, please use the talk page of either article. I will look into the matter again tomorrow. Regards - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 20:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Those anon edits were a very bad idea. I had almost filed a case at WP:RFCU. Anyways, I am glad the the issue has cooled down. Please don't engage yourself in a revert war again (anywhere). It wastes a lot a time. As this case proved, it takes only a few minor changes and the solution is acceptable to all parties. If you again get involved in an edit-war just walk away from the article for a few hours after reporting the incident at a relevant place. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 20:22, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding Deccan Herald - my bad. I should have checked further. Though it doesn't make a difference. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 20:24, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As I said - it takes only a few minor edits and a third party to resolve any dispute. I wouldn't go as far as to call his edits vandalism. This is vandalism. All other sorts of edits cannot be reverted more than 3 times per WP:3RR. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 20:27, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mahawiki's edit were MOST CERTAINLY vandalism Sarvagnya 20:33, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is editing article when admin adviced against it,editing as anonymous, deliberately provoking by removing Belgaon(its in Marathi,BTW,offical language of state of Maharashtra!)??Isnt it vandalisation??Truth is out! 21:04, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Final say in the matter

I am not going to reply to anyone now. I would appreciate if both of you stop bickering on my talk page. I am very much aware which versions were being fought. I do not consider any edits involved to be vandalism. What you both did was worse than vandalism. I will only reply to messages on the talk pages of the respective articles. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 20:39, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re: Question

From Wikipedia:Removing warnings: "Actively erasing personal messages without replying (if a reply would be appropriate or polite) will probably be interpreted as hostile. In the past, this kind of behavior has been viewed as uncivil, and this can become an issue in arbitration or other formal proceedings. Redirecting your user talk page to another page (whether meant as a joke or intended to be offensive or to send a "go away" message), except in the case of redirecting from one account to another when both are yours, can also be considered a hostile act. However, reverting such removals or redirects is not proper and may result in a block for edit warring. If someone removes your comments without answering consider moving on or dispute resolution. This is especially true for vandalism warnings."

[snip]

"Furthermore WP:VAND states: Removing warnings, whether for vandalism or other forms of prohibited/discouraged behavior, from one's talk page is also considered vandalism. It is generally acceptable to remove misplaced vandalism tags, as long as the reasoning is solid."

Sarvagnya, it's vandalism to remove warning templates. However, if that user engages in such an act, please try dispute resolution without engaging in edit warring. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 09:27, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly i was not aware of the above and secondly i really dont deserve those warnings as I was opposing pro-kannadi views mentioned in this article. The dispute has been solved by an admin and still this chap goes no crying foul and badmouthing me.This wont help u as i wont allow Maharashtra bashing here.

WHAT ABOUT DELIBERATE ANONYMOUS EDITS WHEN ADMIN HAD ADVICED AGAINST IT? mahawiki 10:43, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sarvagnya!

I have not accused u for that 'unconfirmed' word.Perhaps ur someone from a Kannadi chavunist gang is being insisting tht word.

>>the word "unconfirmed" should be replaced with "false"<< Ok I try to be as decent I can be. Perhaps u r diagonised with an mental ailment or is that u have low IQ.If i dont have any citations DO U HAVE ANY CITATIONS OTHER THAN DUMBO PRO-KANNADA NEWSPAPERS FOR UR CLAIM THAT KANNADIS OUTNUMBER MARATHIS? So I wanted that sentence to be NEUTRAL.That is logic, perhaps u dont understand it.If Kannadis were more than Marathis than How would MEA win every time there?,How can a Belgaon Mahanagar Palika uanimously pass a resolution to join Maharashtra...Has Bangalore Mahanagar Palike ever asked to join Tamil Nadu???I pity on ur chauvinism and jingoism!U have not only stripped here but also Karnataka's nototrious deeds to our fellow Maharashtrians from so long.

People who speak Marathi are Maharashtrians.Maratha is a caste.I have several Kannadis near my household and they refer themselves as Kannadis.Kannadiga is perhaps a Kannada word, like we have 'Marathi manoos' in Marathi. But I dont converse here in Kannada!!

If u stop ur vandalism and provocation, there's no reason for me to quarrel.I recommend the admin's account of Border issue. Its nice that ur not going to edit the article for few hours. Its my request plz dont edit by being ANONYMOUS or by fakey accounts and also using ur chauvinist gang. Its my promise I wont cause any trouble if u(and ur gang) doesnt act smart.

I dont mind citation of Deccan Herald for FACTS.But this crap is surely not appropriate for judgement.Come on yarr u r such a loser,it explicitly shows the Cauvery or Belgaum issue in the way u jingoists want.If DH is valid so is Maharashtra Times,Belgaon Tarun Bharat,Pudhari, sakal,Loksatta.I oppose using DH's citation for passing judgements.I really like DH,I was going on thru it.Bollywood faces shortage of some good fiction, comedy scripts...!!

mahawiki 10:31, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have modified Belgaum_district so as to match with Belgaum,as u requested.Even I wont edit the page, unless Maharashtra is being targetted and NPOV is disrupted. Thanks. mahawiki 10:58, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A new day

Hello. I'm sorry I could not see your message yesterday. That edit was made in very poor taste. I agree with you. Anyways, I hope the matter is resolved now. Both of you seem to have come to an agreement. I leave it to you to see that the POV of the article is kept neutral. Do leave a message on my talk page if you need more help. Regards, - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 11:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I "bailed out" yesterday because it was 2 am, and I had to go. I will keep your suggestions in mind. There are atleast 3 people now looking at the issue (AreJay, Sundar and me), so there shouldn't be a lot of trouble now. I will look into Sandipan's edits too. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 18:16, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you so ignorant?

When I read you edits on belgaum articles, I thought you know at least a bit about the area. But I guess you are an ignorant about the issue. Do you want a reference to prove Marathi is an official language used in belgaum city corporation? or you are not aware of the Urdu being used as an official language in UP?--Sandipani 21:36, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! I want a reference to prove that Marathi is an official language in BCC. I am tired of saying this, but on Wikipedia every bit of information(especially info which are contested by other editors) has to be referenced. There is no place for original research on WP. Sarvagnya 23:01, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hmmm.. I can see a lots of warnings on your page. It seems your are a trouble maker here, trying to spread the propaganda. Sorry, I was late to respond to your message, but I guess you have enough evidences about the Marathi usage in belgaum. So now don't start your original research and stop aimlessly diverting the issue towards unrelated stories including solapur, mumbai and what not. As for as possible, please don't write on my user's page. Discuss on discussion page. --Sandipani 05:33, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

All i can say to your mindless folly is- I was opposing below version of ur 'Border problem' located at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Belgaum&diff=72456586&oldid=72356098 -

>In 1956, with the Reorganisation of States, Belagavi district became a part of Karnataka. The Maharashtra Government contested this as it wanted Belagavi district to be merged with Maharashtra instead. Under tremondous pressure from the Maharashtra government, The Mahajan Commission was constituted by the Union Government of India to look into the matter. The Commission was headed by Supreme Court Justice Meherchand Mahajan. The commission looked into Maharashtra's claims and recommended exchange of several villages between the two states(Maharashtra and Karnataka), but most importantly, rejected outright Maharashtra's claim on Belgaum city. As soon as the commission came out with its report, Maharashtra made a U-turn and refused to honour the report. Ever since then, the issue has been kept simmering by Maharashtra politicians while Karnataka has continued to press for the implementation of the report. Recently, the Maharashtra government went to the Supreme Court to press their case. The Supreme Court hasnt pronounced anything yet and Belgaum district along with Belgaum city continues as a legal and constitutional part of Karnataka state.

<--- Plz stop ur bugging.I would also request u to add Dinesh kambaadi's 'latest development' along with the mention of resentment and crticism of the centre's decision in Maharashtra. For god's sake stop bitching unnecessarily. In no way I shall allow anti-Maharashtra language in that section. I wonder why u dont allow MES's mention by Sandipani!Or is it u want to suggest that Belgaon is ruled by Kannad Rakshan Vedike or some Gowdas? Its pity that u convinently overlook facts. mahawiki 09:59, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ur edits

I dont like scrabbing ur talk page but its unlikely that u see the belgaum talk page. The recent edit had a sentence- some political observers have described as a severe setback to Maharashtra and MES' stand.

is biased against Maharashtra and u have not included Maharashtra political parties reaction to this mindless decision of spineless centre!I fully believe in ur intellect to understnd this. mahawiki 10:14, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pl dont defame and bad-mouth me

I sincerely apologise if i have had personal attack on u.If u allow,I wish to delete it (personal attacks)from your talk-page.I humbly request delete the warning on my page. Also refrain from complaining about me unnecessarily.I wish u shall co-operate whilst keeping the controversial article's NPOV impact and not fabricating any statements which may be objectional to other party.(Maharashtra,Maharashtra Goverment and Maharashtrians in this case)

The troll

Hah, okay thanks for the tip. I'm glad to see that there are sane people watching the page! --SameerKhan 07:31, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No! My comment was not meant to be taken sarcastically! It would be really mean to use sarcasm through written text, as it would be basically impossible to detect. Sorry about the confusion, and thanks for your concern! --SameerKhan 08:36, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I also just saw that you deleted some strongly-worded comments (from a certain aforementioned troll) directed towards me on the Kannada talk page. If it weren't for your earlier comment, I'd've tried to respond. Now I definitely won't bother - it's probably not worth it. Thanks for looking out for me! :) --SameerKhan 08:41, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop vandalising the Belgaum page.Unless u give proper citations, dont edit out the Marathi name.I have established the fact that the board is in Marathi,Plz check the citations for that.

This is the only warning you will receive. Your recent vandalism to [[:{{{1}}}]] will not be tolerated. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Hello Sarvagnya,

I hope all is well. I have responded to your message on my Talk page. Best,--Amerique 23:54, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it would be in your best interests of getting a good article to not perjoratively debate using terms like "summarily trashed" and using CAPS and also ordering perople around like "Get that straight". Thanks, Blnguyen | BLabberiNg 03:10, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Urdu translation was included because it was written by Mr. Arif mohammed khan and very relevant to that particular section. So pls dont removed the reference as well as the translation. Bharatveer 09:08, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Bharatveer 09:09, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for promptly fixing Bangalore

Thanks for the prompt rv on the Bangalore page. That was an excellent job! Take care. --Antorjal 20:15, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:

Hi, I've added some additional comments to the notice board. To summarize, I don't think it matters if the national anthem is in Hindi or in Bengali masquerading as Hindi, I don't see any added benefit from adding translations in native scripts to articles in the English Wikipedia and per your suggestion, I think we should do away with them. Hope this helps AreJay

Infoboxes for districts

Good job!!. we just need to get the pertinent information in now, including a district map. All districts should preferably have same format. Any Ideas where to get the info from?

Dinesh Kannambadi

Info is easy to get but is a little scattered. For starters, some districts have their websites. You can fine them here. Most info should be available there. Population figures are available here. In a hurry now. District maps can be found by googling or on those district websites. But I dont know if we can use them. Never used an image from anywhere. So dont know about copyright etc. More later. gtg. Sarvagnya 14:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:INCOTW

Hello. I noticed that you started new sections on Vande Mataram and other songs on the above mentioned talk page. Were you intending the comments to be places there? That talk page is only for the collaboration of the week. For topics like this, WT:INWNB would be of better use. I have moved the discussion there. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 16:47, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes

Sarvagnya — good job on the infoboxes for the districts. I was initially intending to work on improving the content of all Karnataka districts, but have been unable to do so due to other committments. The only district that I feel I was able to significantly contribute to was Bagalkot and it was my intention to model other Karnataka districts' content on this. Also, I've had a chance to create taluk-level vector maps for all districts (along the lines of the map in the Bagalkot article), but again, have not been able to upload them as of yet. Just wanted to thank you for your effort and wanted to let you know that I will be involving myself with the improvement of these articles just as soon as I can find some time. Thanks AreJay 23:48, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I typically create vectors using Adobe Photoshop. I just realized the other day that all the vector maps I created got wiped out because my laptop crashed. However, the good news is that it won't take me too long to recreate the maps. As far as your other question, I haven't contributed much to the Chennai page recently, but my understanding is that all population figures for 2006 are estimates taken from World Gazetter. I think the website also gives you estimates for towns and districts in each state. Thanks AreJay 13:17, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sarvagnya

Looks like the Mahawiki goon has started to vandalise my 1 years worth of work on "Rashtrakuta" calling it pro Kannada. We need to come together and teach him a lesson. hope you find time, Dinesh Kannambadi

Calm talk

Please try to remian calm and stay on topic as to what is appropriate info for articles. That way your chances of getting a favourable content resolution increases. And please don't call opposing edits as "vandalism". That is a form of personal attack, I am aware that Mahawiki does have a very aggressive mindset, but please refrain from responding in ways not relevant to article content, thanks, Blnguyen | BLabberiNg 01:15, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No apologies required

I made the same mistake yesterday with Portal:India! - Aksi_great (talk) 19:11, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Autogenerate? If you mean the text of the summary, then no - there is no way to do that. You could just copy the lead and make a few changes to it. Also check summaries at Portal:India. I copied the summaries for the initial 4 Gujarat SAs from there. - Aksi_great (talk) 19:24, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
