Wow!

Just thought I'd stop by to say "Wow". I haven't been so active in recent months, but when I come back from time to tine I see all your great work on historical football topics. It is great to see someone relatively new working so diligently in this area and generating quality work. Cbl62 (talk) 16:55, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:07, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Help on big project

I am thinking of making a draft for a list of former NFL stadiums, with a couple of categories, stadiums used in the early era (1920-1940), stadiums used in the merger era (1941-1970), stadiums used in the current era (1971-present), and stadiums used due to damage of previous stadium. Tell me what you think, but right now I am focused on making a draft for Lakeside Park in Canton Ohio, most known for being the one used by the Canton Bulldogs. This is a table where I got the idea from. Sportsfangnome (talk) 19:22, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Found it from League Field article. Sportsfangnome (talk) 19:22, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Done working on Lakeside Park, it was difficult to find any, if all, infomation. Sportsfangnome (talk) 19:50, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Sportsfangnome: Good idea with the list. I found a source that will probably help here, which lists every stadium ever used for an NFL game. BeanieFan11 (talk) 13:10, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Duncan and Brad D. White

I've noticed sometimes you create articles for football players that may not have one. Recently I've added Paul Duncan and Brad D. White to the Deaths in 2022 page, just tipping you off about them in the event they warrant an article. Rusted AutoParts 18:33, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for letting me know about White. I am absolutely stunned he does not have a page (I doubt anyone missing an article has more NFL experience than him, 73 games). Once I have time, I will get to creating that. About Duncan, I'm not completely convinced that he's notable, as there's only one non-death related piece of SIGCOV I could find (although there has been extensive coverage since he died which may bring him over the GNG bar). Notice

The article 1915 Biddle football team has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Notability guideline for sports

The notability quideline for sports (Wikipedia:Notability (sports)) has recently been revised. Having played in a certain number of NFL games is no longer enough to confer notability (in the Wikipedia sense) on a person. The "basic criteria" of that notability guideline states; A person is presumed to be notable if they have been the subject of significant coverage, that is, multiple published non-trivial secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject. - Donald Albury 17:24, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
