Yevgény Ivánovich Charúshin was a painter and author born in 1901. He first became known for his works for children's literature of Gorky and Marshak. Since he painted animals well, he could draw on fairy tales.

His works were mainly for children,which include "Seven Tales" (1930) and "Nikita And His Friends" (1938).
