Ahir vam gaudir d’una jornada molt instructiva i reflexiva sobre comunicació científica i la sequera al Campus Gutenberg – CosmoCaixa 2024 en el marc de les XIV Jornades de Comunicació i Divulgació Científiques. Des del #CTTC hem aportat eines per a facilitar la gestió i monitorització del cicle de l’aigua. 📢 Call for papers, special session proposals, and tutorials are now open for the IEEE ICMLCN 2025, the IEEE International Conference on Machine Learning for Communication Networking. The #CTTC hosts the second edition of the event, that will take place from May 26th to May 29th 2025 in Barcelona. This conference aims to bring together experts in machine learning, communication, networking, and signal processing to explore and discuss advancements and applications in these fields. 📩 The deadline for researchers, academics and industry professionals to submit their latest work and special session proposals ends on October 31st. CTTC researchers M. Eulàlia Parés Calaf and Eduard Angelats have received the Jack Bono Award for Engineering Communication for their contribution to the article “Use of Unmanned Aerial Systems in Outdoor Firefighting”.   The Jack Bono Award for Engineering Communications is endowed by UL Research Institutes and recognizes authors who have most contributed to the advancement and application of professional fire protection engineering. The focus of this paper, written by a group of several international researchers, is to discuss the challenges that are currently faced in using Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).   Congratulations M. 🏔️ Investigadores del #CTTC trabajaron durante tres días en el glaciar del Pico Besiberri Norte (Val d’Aran) como parte de la expedición de un equipo multidisciplinar del proyecto europeo PERMAPYRENEES. Este proyecto POCTEFA, cofinanciado por la Unión Europea, estudia el estado del permafrost (suelo permanentemente congelado).   Aunque el proyecto se encuentra en la fase inicial, se espera que los resultados ayuden a analizar el comportamiento del permafrost tras los efectos del cambio climático:   🔍 Los perfiles geofísicos permitirán determinar la profundidad del permafrost. 📡 La colocación de 12 reflectores medirá la estabilidad y velocidad de movimiento del glaciar rocoso mediante imágenes de radar. 🌡️ Sensores en roca y suelo proporcionarán un registro continuo y preciso de la temperatura durante los próximos años.  🗺️ La cartografía de formas glaciares y periglaciares, junto con su datación, ayudará a entender la evolución del paisaje en esta área. 📸 ARIÑO VISUALS CSIC University of Perpignan, France Universitat de Barcelona Andorra Recerca + Innovació | Andorra Research + Innovation Cerema Interreg POCTEFA #Permapyrenees #Interreg ICERCA - Centres de Recerca de Catalunya

Aquesta setmana hem rebut al CTTC l’Eloi Genebat i el Nil Medina, Premis Extraordinaris del Batxillerat 2022-2023, i estudiants de Telecomunicacions de la Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. Tots dos van ser distingits pel seu bon rendiment acadèmic durant el batxillerat i han triat el Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya per realitzar la seva estada a un centre de recerca i investigació. Durant la seva visita, han tingut l’oportunitat de conèixer les diferents branques i projectes de recerca del #CTTC, visitar els diferents labs i equipaments, i també compartir espais amb alguns dels nostres investigadors i investigadores. Last Thursday, we had the honor of organizing the 1st International Workshop on Explainable and Responsible AI/GenAI for 6G Networks (6GBRAIN) during IEEE MeditCom2024 in Madrid. A heartfelt thank you to all conference committees and attendees for making this event a success. Our focus was on emphasizing the critical importance of Trustworthy AI/Generative AI for the future. We were privileged to host two distinguished Professors from the USA. Special thanks to Prof. Walid Saad and Prof. Houbing Herbert Song for accepting our invitation and sharing their valuable insights on AI with us.
