As far as sports romances go, hockey books are my favorite. I don’t know why, I just love reading about them! Ryker is the forth book in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series. Ever since the last book, I’ve been excited to read about Ryker and his two daughters and wondering who his love interest would be…

Gray is the newly appointed and first ever female manager to a NHL team. She is more than qualified, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t giving her a hard time. Not Ryker though. Ryker believes in her and treats her with respect from the start. They become quick friends and even though it’s forbidden for them to be together because of their careers, they can’t help but start to fall.
I. Cannot. Be. Involved. With. Him.
It’s that simple.
Except… I’m the type of person who’s known for bending the rules.
Hell, throwing the rules out the door.
I’m a pioneer. A risk taker. A box breaker.
I answer to no one but myself.

 photo 4cd25e4b-bc8e-4570-bd01-0a13ef32e257_zps4losnyvv.jpg

Ryker is a single dad of two daughters. I loved the relationship he had with his girls. It was always his first priority, even above playing hokey professionally. Gray is such a strong female lead. She was tough, a hard worker and put her career first. Then Ryker came along and made her question everything. What’s more important? Her job or love? Or is there any possible way she could have both?

These Cold Fury books are a great mix of sweet, steamy, emotional and fun. I’ve enjoyed every one. I love the team and how there are kids in the stories. I’m not sure if there are any more to come, but if Sawyer keeps writing them, I’ll keep reading them :)
For the first time in my life, I feel interest in something other than my career. I feel needed. I feel happy. I feel cherished. I. Feel. Everything. And I don’t want to let it go.

I LOVE the Cold Fury Hockey Team and CANNOT resist their stories!

I’m not a fan of hockey, it’s not a sport I gave much thought to before I became addicted to this series but I’ve fallen firmly in love with the Cold Fury fictional team, loving each and every male protagonist of the beautiful, heart capturing Hockey world penned by Sawyer Bennett.

Book 4 hails the turn of Ryker. He’s getting to grips with life as a single parent whilst maintaining his position as goalie for the Cold Fury Hockey team. He's experienced both on and off the ice with charismatic sex appeal and warmth in abundance.

Grayson Brannon is an heiress with credentials that have earned her the position of being the first female manager of a professional hockey team. This drives much of the drama, angst, tension and the forbidden love element of the story. I appreciated the depiction of this character and the way the story surrounds hockey, the team, and it's politics.

Ryker and Gray have a powerful, magnetic attraction to each other but their professional lives hinder the prospect of them being together, reputations are at stake. Their clandestine affair piqued my interest and became gloriously HOT! I completely loved this forbidden aspect of the story arc, even though at times, I was left feeling frustrated at their perceived obstacles. It’s a little cheesy in places for my tastes but despite this my heart swelled with emotion and the story, in certain moments, evoked tears to fill my eyes.

The inclusion of Zack and Kate, stars of Cold Fury Hockey #3, warmed my heart with the continuation of their love affair that's magnificent, had me brimming with emotion and made tears fill my eyes. They are a highlight of the story, as is the involvement of other past characters.

I have a soft spot for the Cold Fury series. It’s true, this one is not my favourite, the early dynamic of the story arc did not grab me the way the others did and I found my mind wondering, but even so this is still a read I wouldn’t have missed and, of course, I’m eager for the next in the series.

4-4.5 Stars!

We first met Ryzer in Zack’s book and I was immediately intrigued. I love single dad’s so when he was transferred to the Cold Fury straight off a divorce I was excited to see how things panned out for him.

Gray Brannon has been around working for the Cold Fury, but this is the first time meeting her. Her father is retiring as General Manager and is appointment Gray to take his place. Despite Gray being well educated, an Olympic Hockey Player, she is still not given a warm welcome. But there is one man who is more than happy to give her a shot, he is even excited for her – Ryker.

I love single dads and forbidden love, hello – two of my favorites. While I really enjoyed the sneaky around, their chemistry I just wanted more. I think I expected more of a family type book, like Zack’s and this was just different. I think that’s the worst part of series. The books are judge independently like they should be. So me comparing Ryker to Zack isn’t entirely fair, but it did take away from my enjoyment.

That being said, do I recommend this book, ABSOLUTELY. I still loved watching Ryker and Gray fall in love. I loved the bond they had with each other and the bond with their family/friends. I liked seeing everything come together and how the story played out. I feel like this was another win for the Cold Fury Series!

I don't know why I keep trying but this is definitely the last time I'll be reading this author's work. This book just didn't do anything to me. It felt choppy and discombobulated. I could not connect with Ryker and Gray as individuals or as a couple. I felt no chemistry between them. None. Zero. Nada. Zilch. Zip.

So I guess, this is where Sawyer Bennett and I go our separate ways. It was good while it lasted.

2.5 - "It's just one thing after another and rivals even the most dramatic soap opera." Stars.

I know I am in the minority here, but Ryker was one of my most anticipated reads of the second half of 2015. Sadly due to an extremely slow start, glaringly predictable plot, and no real relationship building between the Ryker and Gray for pretty much 85% of the book, it has turned into my most disappointing read of the second half of 2015...

Stolen touches. That's what we're about.

And that was the main problem, lots of sex, a load of erroneous drama with the ex-wife and douche-bag team mates, not much else...

It's written well I just have extremely high expectations of this series, and the author, the three previous books were absolutely stellar and I'd happily read them again, this one just didn't have that spark, that edge that pulls you in and invests you in the characters and their storyline...

"I'm doing what feels right to me..."

I am not done with this series, or Sawyer Bennett's characters from it. Hawke is scheduled for release March 2016, this is a player who up til now has had absolutely no mention in the previous books, I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes the Carolina Cold Fury team in his book.

As always, I have to begin by mentioning the smokin’ hot covers for this series. Who knew under all that padding there were men with six packs?!

I can see the headlines now. Can a woman run a hockey team?
Gray has become the general manager of the Cold Fury team and as woman in a man’s world she’s has to gain the respect of her team. Of course, there are men who don’t want a woman for their boss. Gray has her haters and in spite of it all she has a stiff backbone. #HatersGonnaHate

… my goal. To turn this team into champions.
Setting goals for her team and players is her first step towards working with the men on her team.

”This is not a fling. It’s not a one-time thing.”
Ryker is a single dad whose wife dumped him for a 19 year old hotshot on his former team. My heart was already won over for him when I knew he stepped up to raise his girls. And then when he backs Gray as their new boss I was on fully on board of the Ryker train.

We’re missing unification.
A team divided is no team at all. The wedge created by the non acceptance of a woman boss makes the team struggle to move forward.

It’s complicated.
Meanwhile, getting involved with your boss on a romantic level further complicates the team’s division. Gray & Ryker’s secret relationship looms over their heads as they progress slowly together.

Another great edition to the Cold Fury series. I love the plotline of a woman running a male hockey team. It's groundbreaking news happen in today's sports news with these stories hitting the headlines: Jen Welter became the first female coach in a men's professional football and Sarah Thomas became the first full-time female official.

If you don't know by know, I am obsessed with Sawyer Bennett and her books. She has seriously become of the those authors that I **ahem** stalk for upcoming new releases. And when I knew Ryker was getting a book, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Okay, before I started Ryker's book, I loved ZACK since he started my Sawyer Bennett obsession but after reading Ryker, I have to say that I am torn because Ryker gave Zack a run for his money.

#Ryker_Sawyer

Cold Fury's goalie Ryker Evans has two important goals that he wanted to accomplish. First, he wanted to give his team a chance to win the Cup and the second most important job is raising his two daughters. As a single father, his life was consumed with training, hockey, and his girls. His personal life was non-existent after him and his wife are in the process of a divorce.

Grayson Brannon is the new GM of Cold Fury. Her new positions has caused a stirred within the sports industry since people began questioning if she could be a GM in a male dominant sport and also of her analytical method of stats. On her first day job as GM, she instantly knew she had one supporter besides her father and that was Ryker Evans.

#Ryker2

From the first moment, Grayson felt a kinship Ryker and likewise with him. Instantly, it didn't take long for them to form a friendship and a bond. Soon Ryker and Gray found themselves crossing the lines of employer and employee. Sparks of attractions and passion ignited such a fierce connection that they couldn't deny but they knew that they had to keep their relationship a secret since people would think she had favoritism. This secretive relationship was taking a tolll on their relationship since both of them wanted to be a normal couple. So when someone discovers their relationship, will Ryker's position be in jeopardy? And how will the public react and perceive Grayson's standing as GM?

Gray has to be hands down one of my favorite Sawyer Bennett's heroine. I might have a girl crush on her. Right off the opening pages, I fell in loved with her character. She had it all from beauty and brains. And to top it off, she had one of the most generous and beautiful hearts that I loved. She never played favoritism and did what was always best for her hockey team. And as for Ryker, he was just perfect. He was sweet, caring, understanding, patient, and a dirty-talker. I loved that this man took time to learn how to braid his daughter's hair. That alone, be still my beating my heart.

#Ryker1

What can I say but I absolutely loved Ryker and Grey's relationship. I loved these two hard!!! As much as I loved Zack and Kate's story,Ryker and Gray's relationship made my heart flutter and race. I loved the deep connection and respect they had for each other. And to top it off, I love love how Ryker can be sweet and a dirty-talker all in a blink of an eye. But what made me fall in love with this book was that there was no long drawn out conflict or drama. The book just flowed at a perfect pace that reflected this couple.

So if you are a fan of office and single father romance then I highly recommend you to read this book!!! Be prepared to fall in love with Ryker and Gray as they embark and take you on a winning sweet contemporary romance!!!!

This book has
1. workplace romance
2. sport theme
3. single-dad
4. lady boss
5. deranged teammate
6. a remorseful ex-wife
6. previous heroes, Alex, Garrett and Zack

For this series, I only read Alex. So I can't give a comparison like everyone else who follow this series religiously. I can assure you however, this book can works as a standalone.

Gray Brannon is the new GM aka lady boss for the Carolina Cold Fury. What is a woman doing in a man position? Well, she is out to make history despite the prejudice against her gender. Gray is very much a brainiac, a woman who never been in a relationship because men was intimidated by her. But that's not the case when she met her employee, Ryker.

Ryker Evans, Cold Fury goalie, recently divorced and single dad to his two young girls. Despite his teammates skepticism towards Gray, Ryker is very supportive of her because fact is she's the one who brought him to Carolina. He had a lot of respect for her talent and managing skills.

This story gives us a little dose of forbidden workplace affairs. Ryker is a man who go after what he want regardless of the consequences, while Gray is more reserve and she's worried about jeopardizing her only chance at success. Despite their attraction towards each other, they decided to keep their relationship a secret affair.

There is something about secret affair that make it so tantalizing. I enjoy their stolen moments and the way they try to make their relationship work despite all these boundaries.

I love the inclusion of Alex, Garrett and Zack and the close friendship they have with Ryker. Zack and Kate also have some surprise in store for readers who miss them.

Ryker's ex-wife make some appearance to stir up a minor drama, which easily curb by both Ryker and Gray. I like seeing how committed they are to each other and will not easily swayed by others.

The best part of the story is the climax towards the end with a dose of danger that put me in suspense. Holy shit! I love seeing how badass Ryker can be. The ending itself was perfect. The way they both willing to make the sacrifices for each other is so heartwarming. I have nothing to complain about Ryker's story. A perfectly feel good romance in every way.

2.5 Disappointing Stars

I'm going to have to dig DEEP within myself for this review. I definitely didn't hate it but for as much as I've enjoyed this series, this one seemed to take me forever to finish and was the very definition of meh reading. Yeah, I've got a shelf just for those.

Review to come if and when the lethargy leaves me.

What a series!

The fourth book in the Cold Fury Hockey series does not disappoint! Ryker is everything I thought it would be, and a bit more.

I knew I would like/love goalie Ryker Evans, aka "Brick" or "Brick Wall" for his sheer size and ability to stop pucks. Ryker is a (soon to be) single dad of two adorable little girls who are now living with him. The first chapters of the book spell out what a kind, devoted, loving dad he is (and he's afraid of spiders!) so what romance reader wouldn't love that? And it doesn't hurt that he's GQ model gorgeous, leading the league in goaltending, and is a leader on his championship hungry team. He's 32 years old and nearing the end of a stellar career, and wants to hoist the Stanley Cup one last time. The Cold Fury came close last year, but this year they're older and more experienced, and they have a great shot at it. But it's early December and the team is about to make a change that could either help, or maybe even hurt their chances...

Ryker...
 photo 1a7cccb1-eb4e-410b-b8e2-e0db025a7ef6_zpsi1vzglvu.jpg

Beautiful, flame-haired Grayson "Gray" Brannon, 31, is about to become the first female general manager of an NHL team. Her credentials? She was the team's pro scout for two years, responsible for bringing some current players (notably Ryker Evans) to the team, a Princeton grad with a Ph.D. in statistics, a genius level IQ, won two Olympic Medals (playing goalie) for the U.S. women's ice hockey team, and clearly knows her stuff. Okay, so it doesn't hurt that her father is the president and CEO of the Cold Fury...

Gray...
 photo 24ef0397-63b9-48c4-8ce0-de86a3d141ef_zps26ddudl2.jpg

Many are skeptical of her abilities, and one punk Cold Fury player is down right hostile towards her. But Gray is determined to prove them wrong/win them over, and her on-the-cutting-edge statistical theories have a lot of merit. Gray's biggest supporter (besides her doting father) is Ryker Evans. While many in the league have seen Ryker as past his prime, Gray's faith in him has resurrected his career. He's playing some of his best hockey ever, and owes a bit of gratitude to Gray for signing him to the Fury. And could there be a personal spark between the brainy, beautiful GM and the league's hottest (in more ways than one) goaltender? Wouldn't that bring a host of complications to what career driven Gray is trying to achieve? But darn, Ryker Evans is a hard temptation to resist...

Loved these two together, no doubt about their chemistry! Although after reading Zack I thought Sawyer Bennett was going to set Ryker up with Zack's sister (forgot her name). But this works so much better! Loved the conflict of their relationship--should the 'boss' be sleeping with an employee? Is it really a conflict of interest since Gray is not his direct 'boss' and does not control his playing time? Can these two ever go public? Oh my, what a mess. How can a relationship ever develop past the bedroom if you can't go be open about it? And who (if any) would be willing to give up their career for that to happen? And what happens if the ex-wife (who you share two beautiful daughters with) wants another chance? Oh, the problems...

Despite all the roadblocks, these two do develop an awesome relationship. Yes, there's plenty of smoke inside the bedroom, but these two connect on more than just a physical level. I just loved how patient and wise Ryker was with Gray. Obviously he was way more experienced in life than Gray was, and could see the big picture. He knew about making sacrifices and was willing to do so for love. Gray had absolutely no experience in loving someone (beyond her father) and had some catching up to do. But I loved how she worked through it and loved the 'this-could-be-a-scene-from-a-movie' ending!

Fans of the series will enjoying seeing Zack, Garrett, Alex and their women again, along with a few other teammates. Is this the end of the series? I don't know, but I hope not. If so, it ended on a perfect note.:)

I've got no quibbles about this book, except one minor one: Gray has a bit of a potty mouth. Which could be explained by her being around a male dominated sport, so I guess it would be reasonable for her to think/talk like a truck driver.:) I don't mind my heroines to think/talk dirty in the bedroom, but outside of it...but that's just me. Overall, this book was a hot, fast, sexy read, and features a smart, sexy heroine, and one awesome husband-worthy hero! 4 1/2 stars

* And yes, Sawyer Bennett, I totally agree with you! As I was reading this book, this Penguin fan totally pictured Henrik Lundqvist
as Ryker. So glad to read that great minds think alike!

A fun, sexy read with some seriously tense moments.

So many elements of this book worked for me ... not sure where to even start.
How about a quick list of the things I loved:

#1. Gray - the leading lady is strong willed, savvy and confident. The fact that she's an Olympic medal holder on it's own is impressive ... but the fact that she's smart enough and bold enough to take on the role of managing a men's professional hockey team? Astounding!

#2. Ryker - as the "old guy" on the team he proves that age is really just a number. He single-handedly manages a household, while caring for his two sweet little girls ... plus, he's the goalie for Carolina Cold Fury and is on a seriously hot streak. Actually, he's really hot in general .... so, yeah.

#3. You snooze you lose, but I won't rub it in your face - Ryker's soon to be ex-wife is treated with dignity and respect ... even when she doesn't fully deserve it. I appreciate how this topic was managed. Putting the children first is always paramount, in my opinion and this book proves that, no matter the situation, divorce can be civil.

#4. Love isn't easy, but it conquers all - of course the book ends with a wonderful HEA ... and getting there is anything but simple. The hurdles that Ryker and Gray face are not all that different from the average couple ... watching them tackle their difficulties head on and with maturity ... Perfection!

Overall, this is a great addition to an already terrific series. Looking forward to the next book!

There is no secret that I'm a sport romance geek. Along with a soft spot for Carolina Cold Fury team I couldn't not like that part. I was waiting for Ryker Evans and I'm not disappointed.

***Quick Review:***

Main characters: Ryker Evans, thirty-two years old, single dad, goalie of the Carolina Cold Fury. Gray Brannon, thirty-one years old, first female general manager of a professional hockey team.
Se. condary characters: Yey! We have our favorites here Alex, Garrett, Zack and their wonderful woman.
Steamy:
Sensitive topic:
Love triangle:
Cheating:
Cliffhanger:
HEA:
Next in the series? Yes. Hawke Therrien but I do not know who the hell he is. Probably someone completely new in the team. Exciting!

For who I would recommend? Absolutely for fans of hot sport romance.

***

About the plot: Gray Brannon is the first female general manager of a professional hockey team. As the first woman on that place her road is not easy. Tough men do not believe that a woman can cope with their world. She has a lot to prove. She also is the one who is responsible for traded Ryker Evans to Cold Fury. She believes in him, when not many other people do.

Ryker wants to prove that he can still play at the highest level. Sport joins with raising two daughters, seven and five years old. He recently get full rights to care and learn to function as a single father.

When Ryker and Gray meet on an individual discussion in matters of the game, something sparks between them. The problem lies in the fact that their attraction is absolutely not professional and can harm them both.

“If you ever decide you want to try to seduce me, I just want you to know I’m not going to stop you.”

Final thoughts: The beginning of their relationship is well built and exciting. To the end it is a lot of insecurity and you don't know how it will resolve. There is only one moment when I was in doubt and for that a lower ranking. It's the quick jump from the we could not to do it now thing.

But I very much like three things in this book. Firstly, there is a lot more sport. I had objections about it in the previous part. As sport romance geek, of course, is for me a plus. Secondly Ryker as a father is absolutely amazing and adorable. I'd love to have more scenes with Violet and Ruby.

“What do we do when we get hurt?”
She hesitates a moment and then says,
“Rub some dirt in it.”

And thirdly ... Zack ( hero from the the previous part) and his attempts marriage proposal. It was so funny that I laughed every time when they talk about it. Wonderful!

For these reasons, for me it was a lovely reading, and I can not wait for the next!

*** 4,5 "Big Bang" stars from me***

Firstly, i have to say that i really love all this hockey players of Cold Fury Carolina's team...

They are hot, young, talented and their stories were full of sentimental and funny moments!!!
They were fighters with a big "F" inside the hockey arena and outside of it!!!
Every single one of them is a unique and wonderfull person...
I won't lie to you... I have a small preference toward Zack, but i really enjoyed Ryker's story...

In the previous book, i felt sympathy about Ryker...
The poor guy had lots of ugly shits to face through his life...
First of all, his marriage was to its end and that's because his wife was cheating on him with a younger teammate of him...

Then he tranferred to a new team in which stayed behind as a second goalie, since in his 32 years he characterized as a veteran hockey player whose carreer was about to end in any moment!!!
And as a chery on the top, his ex wife decided that she wanted to follow around her new toy boy so her time was limited for take caring their daughters...
That wasn't bad at all for Ryker, only a little bit difficult to raise two little girls by himself... but i really admired his efforts!!!

So, in this book, we went forward six months and in this time we were having some changes in Ryker's life...
Firstly, he has a nice routine pattern with his daughters and Ryker is a natural as a single father...
The divorce is almost done and his hockey carrer is in the best phase of his life...
He also had earned really good friends as Zack and Kate, Alex and Garrett...
The only thing that is missing of his life is coming with the form of Grayson Brannon...

Grayson Brannon is a brilliant young woman...
She is very young with a very high IQ and a love toward statistics and numbers...
She adore hockey and she was working as a scout for the Cold fury team...
But now her biggest dream come true as her father gives her the position of General Manager of the team...

Now, Grayson had to work twice than before since there are many persons out there that thinks that she is uncapable for that position since she is woman...
Gray had a long and difficult road to cross and it gets harder when she started to develop feelings toward a player, an employee... Ryker Evans...

Gray and Ryker will tried to stay away from each other but the pull between them is so strong that they can't get away...
But they have to stay hidden and keep their relationship a secret... and that's for many reasons...

Can they do it??? Or as the time is passing by it will become harder and harder???
And what about all the obstacles that get on their way??? Will they manage to overpass them???

I did enjoy and this story as much as i enjoyed and the previous...
Ryker was a liable person... He was honest, real, steady and very loyal...
He knew what he wanted and he never changed his opinions....
He was a great team player and a greater father...
He cared about his teammates and the team and he was doing the best for them...
As for her girls??? They were all his world...

I also liked the way that he faced his ex-wife... It was the most right thing to do!!!
And i really liked how he were with Gray...

Ryker was a real man with big balls and with high opinion about family....

Grayson was a dynamic woman of carreer...
She was strong and intelligent...
She loved her job and she wanted the best of this team...
Even though she was a woman, she knew very well what she was doing with the job...

As for love??? It was her first time that a feeling so strong prison her and in the beginning she didn't know how to react, but the pull toward Ryker was so intense that even she knew that it was wrong to get involve with a player, she just couldn't resist to his charm!!!

Oh, and also i liked very much Gray's father...
He was always by her side but he never interfere in her job...
He let her to do her own decisions and her own mistakes!!!
He was very supportive and when the time came, he just gave the greatest advice...

And for once again, i have to say that i love Zack and i really liked the bond between the two men...

LOL!!! I really like you, dude!!!

What i really liked in those books, it's that there's no drama without a reason...
Yep, all the heroes and heroines had many problems but they have very mature reactions and that's a plus for me... I appreciated it too much...

Now, i can not wait for the next story, even though i don't know anything about Hawke, but i'm really sure that it will be very interesting...
And that's why i really love Mrs Bennett's writing!!! And i'm a big fan of Cold Fury series... I will miss all the guys!!! Until then...

The series may be called Cold Fury but Sawyer Bennett's boys heat up more than just the ice. Rykker was a good addition to the series. In relation to the previous books, I found it the lowest in angst but interesting and enjoyable enough to finish one sitting.

4 Making the Leap Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
This was a solid installment for the Cold Fury Franchise. We had met Ryker already... so readers of the series were primed and ready for his story. Bennett delivered for me a tale of two people capable in their careers. They had individual challenges and both were able to see their way through them.

The beauty of it all was the way they both finally over came all of the obstacles keeping them apart. They didn't let outsiders color their desire for one another... when push came to shove, Ryker knew what he needed to do to make things right with Gray.

All of the past characters from the other books make appearances and Ryker's daughters were edible.
An easy read. Next is Hawk...look for him in Mach 2016.

Ryker would have to be my favorite so far. A soon to be a divorcee after catching his wife cheat on him with an teammate from his old team. He gets traded to Cold Fury’s team (yay) for backup goalie. Ryker isn’t afraid of relationship 😩 and started getting attracted to the newest General Manager of Cold Fury. I love Gray as well, both grown adults and dedicated to their careers. He’s a single dad of 2 girls and he doesn’t bs around.

Brian Brannon, the CEO of Cold Fury, is the most compassionate and understanding man I have ever read.

Overall Opinion: Hmmm. This is a hard one to rate. I did enjoy it. The characters were likeable. The H was pretty darn perfect. Maybe that's it -- maybe it was all too perfect...? I feel like it barely skimmed the surface of their story and I was waiting to feel more about them, but sadly it never came. It might be because there were often times that the characters brought up in their POVs all this talking and connecting that happened between them, but we didn't experience it. I also feel like the conflicts that they faced were resolved way too easily (or we didn't experience the resolution at all but just told about it after the fact -- like the ex-wife). Overall I wouldn't say that this will be all that memorable or even go down as one of my favorite reads, so I'll give a "just ok" 3 stars.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Gray and Ryker's story. Gray is the newly appointed GM for the Cold Fury professional hockey team. Ryker is their starting goalie. He respects what she is trying to do in taking a new statistical approach to managing the team (think Moneyball). They both are insanely attracted to each other, and through some innocent (and not so innocent) encounters, they start a relationship. They have to keep it secret though, because Gray's position as one of the first female managers of a hockey team is already on shaky ground. With hiding the relationship as well as Ryker being a single Dad, they don't get all that many opportunities to spend time together. But that doesn't matter, because stronger feelings start to develop. There is some ex drama, some sexy times, a few funny moments, and some career issues...but the couple get their HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Gray and Ryker's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I did want some more time with them as an official couple (and out of the closet so to speak), but otherwise it flowed well and I didn't skim.

Instalove: No. I felt like it was adequate time for the feelings to develop.

H rating: 5 stars. Ryker. Well I have no complaints here for this hero. He told her flat out that he is a relationship kind of man and that he didn't want a fling with her because he saw them becoming something more. He was a great dad. He knew what he was doing in the bedroom. And he was completely loyal to the h even to the point of sacrificing some of his own happiness to make her happy.

h rating: 4 stars. Gray. She was sassy and a total nerd, and I really liked her! I was a little disappointed when I thought that she was going to fall for the H's ex's bs--but luckily she snapped out of it and saw the ex for what she really was.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Heat level: Moderate. They have some great chemistry and I think it was just the right amount of scenes to where it wasn't taking away from the storyline.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Safe sex: Yes. There is condom use at first, but after having a talk about std status they go without.

OW/OM drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: This had a cute epilogue with some closure, but I wanted more. I wanted more actual commitment for them and maybe a further jump into their future as a successful couple. I would call this a HFN ending.

How I got it: I paid the $0.99 on Amazon for it.

Safety: Safe with exception

Ryker was such a light easy beautiful story.
I know I rated 3 star but I really did enjoy it. It was just maybe too easy, too cute for my taste

Ryker is a 32 goalie for the Cold Fury. If you've read the other books in the series, you already met him in Zack's book.
He is the father of two beautiful girls and he has their custody while their mother comes and visits

I loved Ryker's easy going attitude. From the beginning he has this natural aura that surrenders him. He is always positive and his girls meant the world to him.

Gray is a woman with a career in a man's world. Freshly nominated as the Cold Fury General Manager, she knows she has to prove her position wasn't given because of her father.

« Ryker didn’t question my abilities either as a woman or as a general manager. He is the only one other than my dad so far who has decided to give me a fair shot »

Ryker and Gray are in the same circle but for obvious reasons they can't really start a relationship. Yet the attraction can't be denied for long.

«I’m doing what feels right to me. You feel right to me.” “We can’t,” I murmur. “We can,” he cuts me off, rubs a thumb on the side of my neck. “I’m your boss . . . it’s inappropriate.” “And yet I don’t give a shit.” »

Once more, I liked Saywer Bennett's story. I simply like that woman's writing
With Ryker, she gave me a little more than a love story between people. She gives a real meaning to the story.
She treats delicate subject as divorce and cheating, how to deal with a relationship at work. She also deliver a fantastic story about respect.

Ryker is a sweet lovable character that will make your heart melt. He never leads women on. He respect Gray and what she does. He respects his ex-wife even after what she did and most of all he is a great support for his girls

If you are looking for fun, cute and swoon-worthy man and a story with a strong female lead, Ryker is your pick.

« You don’t get to choose who you fall for »

I'm just going to put these here...

Ladies, feast your eyes on Henry Lundqvist, Goalie for the New York Rangers

Um yeah, anyway

Gray Brannon takes over as General Manager for the Cold Fury Hockey Team. But with that comes doubt and negativity from players who don't believe that a woman can do the job. Ryker never doubted her, though, and supports her as much as he can. Their friendship quickly turns into a deeper attraction, but because Ryker is basically Gray's employee they can't start a relationship. That's a lot easier said than done, though.

Ryker is a single father to his two girls and the parts we got with him in father mode made my panties melt. When he was going after Gray and trying to convince her to give their relationship a shot I loved him even more. He was sexy as hell and so tenacious and just all around a complete sweetie. Their relationship was Hot with a capital H, and Gray is one lucky girl.

I really liked that she was so smart but didn't live in her head. She had a genius IQ and two Olympic medals for female hockey, which I thought was pretty damn cool. She didn't do relationships and needed a little pushing to actually take a chance on Ryker, but it didn't take too much convincing. I liked that she wasn't fighting her feelings the whole time and jumped into the relationship with everything she had.

I did find myself looking for more interactions with Ryker and his girls and wish that there was more father time in the story. His daughters were mentioned a lot but not really in the picture and I just think it would have made Ryker a stronger character if we got to see how much he truly cared for them. There was a little bit of drama but not too much that it ruined the story. Some of the drama didn't seem to get finished, but honestly I didn't care about it so I wasn't looking for it to be finished to complete the story.

Overall, this is a sweet, sexy story of two people who shouldn't be together but can't stop the attraction that consumes them. Any fan of Sawyer Bennett will love this story and any Hockey romance fans should give this series a try.

First off, this cover...

I have read all the books in the Cold Fury series and while Garrett is still my favorite story..I mean that epilogue was epic, Ryker is my favorite leading man. He was such an all around awesome guy, I loved him with his daughters, and I loved him with Gray. The reason I keep coming back to this series is the characters all seem to discover something within themselves, through the struggles of accepting that to get what they really want out of life they have to be willing to make difficult sacrifices, but they always end up with much more than they ever thought they are giving up. I know that was a long winded ramble...but I hope I made some kind of sense. This couples journey was hot and steamy but there was still a lot of heart too, and I guess I would just say read it!!

Ryker is the fourth book in the Cold Fury Hockey Series. Anyone that enjoys a smoking hot forbidden romance MUST MEET RYKER NOW! Although each book in the series is critical for understanding the overall story arc of the characters, each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. The Cold Fury boys have become one of my go-to hockey teams when I am looking for a quick smoking hotfix. Readers beware once you start this series, you will not be able to stop!

description
"I can't stop thinking about how you tasted when you came. I'm dying for another taste."
Ryker is the goalie for the Cold Fury Hockey Team. Near retirement, he is enjoying the last few seasons of his career. Ryker is recovering from a messy break up with his wife and loves his two daughters more than anything in the world. Although finding love again is the last thing on his mind, he cannot deny his attraction to the team's manager Gray Brannon. Gray is an independent woman who has accomplished so much in the hockey world. Where men reign, she has made history by working with the team and taking them to greatness. Gray might have found professional success but her personal life is lacking. Gray is very close to her dad and together they run the Cold Fury Team with pride. When Ryker Evans shows interest in Gray she knows there is no way they can be go out on a date. It would be highly unethical and unprofessional for her to have a romantic relationship with one of her players. As tensions continue to rise between the two, the attraction between them becomes more than either can deny. Ryker and Gray begin a secret affair and as the lines between love, lust, and professional obligations begin to blur, a truly epic love match is made.

description
"Love drives you past the hard shit."
Told in dual POV, Ryker is another perfect blend of smoking hot passion, hockey action, and characters who are loyal to each other and the game. The connection between Ryker and Gray is passionate, tender, and full of hope for a better life for both of them together. The forbidden element enhances the plot as both characters are devoted to their work in hockey and to each other. Additionally, the father-daughter relationship between Gray and her dad and the father-daughter dynamic between Ryker and his girls kept the plot centered around the importance of family. The writing flows naturally as the plot unfolds and of course, Ryker brings back all of our favorite characters from the Cold Fury crew.

description

Overall, Ryker is an absolute must-read for Cold Fury Hockey fans. Each book has a unique plot and yet one central theme remains, each book is full of love, passion, and hot hockey action. I have officially become a true Cold Fury Hockey addict and I will never get enough!

I can officially say that I am in love with this series! These books are like candy and I cannot seem to get enough of them. This book fits into the series perfectly. I was thrilled when I found out that Ryker was going to be the Hero in this book. I just loved everything about him in his appearances in the previous installment, Zack. Each of these books can be easily read as a stand alone novel but readers of the series will find some familiar characters from earlier books.

The story is told from alternating points of view. I am a fan of this style of storytelling when it is done well as it is in this story. I have read tons of romance novels that are told only from the female point of view and I really enjoy a book that lets me spend some time in the man's head. I really think that both points of view in this story has a distinctive voice and felt authentic and likable.

As the story begins, Gray has just been named as General Manager of the Cold Fury Hockey team. She is the first woman to be named to this position in the NHL and not everyone is thrilled with the idea. Ryker is adjusting to life with his two daughters as a single father. He is one of the veterans on the team and is open to the idea of a woman holding Gray's position.

The pair start spending time together outside of normal work but keep everything hidden so that they will not jeopardize either of their careers. With the spotlight on Gray's position and on the hockey team that is playing with largely due to their veteran goalie, Ryker, keeping their relationship a secret becomes very difficult.

I liked Ryker and Gray as a couple. How can anyone not like Ryker? He is sexy and he knows what he wants. He puts the needs of other people before his own and he is an awesome father. Not to mention, he is a very good hockey player. Gray was easy for me to like. She knew that it was not going to be easy stepping into the GM position but she handled everything perfectly. She was smart and able to figure out what really mattered. I loved the chemistry that they had together and thought that the sexy scenes between the pair were very well done.

I would highly recommend this series to fans of contemporary romance. This book is a relatively quick read but it really packs a lot into the pages. There is a lot of excitement, emotions, sexy times, as well as some hockey. I plan to continue to read Sawyer Bennett's work including future books in this series.

I received an advance reader edition of this book from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley for the purpose of providing an honest review.

Initial Thoughts
Another great book to add to the series. I really liked Ryker.

RYKER!

description

We already met him in the last book - he's the new goalie and he just got sole custody of his two little daughters. (Because his idiot wife had an affair with an ex-team-mate of his, and she doesn't have time to take care of kids when she's on the road with a hockey star.)

The team and most fans don't really love their new goalie yet - because they think he's at fault for losing an important game last season - but there's one person who still believes in him:

GRAY!

She's the new team-manager.
The first ever female in this job.
Not everybody on the team is accepting her ....

She's the one who recruited Ryker last season and she's convinced he will be perfect for the team - and perfect for her too? Yes, he's hot and funny and smart and adorable - but the boss can't start something with a player....or can she??

Well, she can - but nobody can know!!!

description

Ryker's ex might also show up again and stir up trouble!
She wants him back.

And the whole secret affair thing might be too much for Ryker and Gray....

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO RYKER & GRAY????
WiLL THE TWO OF THEM GET THEiR HEA?
WiLL EVERBODY SURViVE???

description

I'm not telling you that of course...

Finally a new book in this adorable Hockey series.

description

Ryker.
He's so adorable - the single dad with his two cute girls.
And he's falling for the tough new boss-lady.
Only Gray is not really all that tough.
She's sweet and smart and she just wants to be loved by a guy that loves her back.
But to get her HEA she'll have to fight everything and everyone in her business life.

But - of course, as we all know - being with Ryker will be sooo worth it ☺

description

And I especially loved that we got to see all our old hockey friends again - like Zack - who's soooo funnily trying to propose to Kate ☺☺☺

RYKER was another adorable and sexy and funny and cute Sawyer Bennett Hockey-Romance! You'll love it!!!!!

Book #5 will be about Hawke - either I missed him, or he wasn't mentioned .... but I can't wait to get my hands on him!!!

What do you get when two driven professionals with equally loving hearts are attracted to each other but know their paths mustn't cross? I got whole lot of sweet smiles, tender hugs and sexy moments and a feel-good story about love conquering all.
“If it’s real love… it’s supposed to be hard… because you feel deeper. Things are more important. The risks are greater and the rewards surpass anything you could hope for.”

Ryker “the Brick” Evans has mastered being a single parent to two adorable little girls. He’s also on a hot streak he needs to keep in order to secure his contract renewal. Even as a veteran goal tender with a stellar career in the NHL, many seem to believe Ryker has no more to give, but the new general manager has faith that his fortitude will take the Carolina Cold Fury all the way to Stanley Cup championships.

Gray Brannon is making history and setting precedent. She’s been appointed as the first woman general manager in the male dominated world of the NHL. With her take charge attitude, prior hockey experience in two Olympics and a certified genius IQ, she’s determined to create an indestructible championship team.

In order to do so, she shouldn’t be crossing professional lines that could potentially ruin both hers and Ryker's careers. But their attraction is undeniable. Will she give up her career in order to pursue love? Will he? Can they find a way to have everything?

I don’t know how many books I need to read for it to be official, but I think I’m a certified Sawyer Bennett fan. Before I read the blurb, even before the cover reveal, just from a couple of appearances from Ryker in the previous Cold Fury book and I knew I would fall for him hook, line and sinker. What I didn’t realize was that I would love his partner just the same. But I should have, since I know Sawyer Bennett has the capacity to draw you into a story with great characters and make you want more.

There are so many great things about Ryker to love starting with his devotion to his two little girls. He’s tough yet sensitive and completely sure about himself. After he was cheated on by his wife he could have easily turned to meaningless flings, yet he continued to believe in love and marriage.

Gray was wonderful and perfect for Ryker. She's a gorgeous, smart, motivated woman who grew up a funny, vibrant and warm with a lovely, passionate heart who just needed the right man to show her there was more to life than statistical models and championships.
“For the first time in my life I feel interest in something other than my career.
I feel needed.
I feel happy.
I feel cherished.
I. Feel. Everything.”

They tried to be just friends in order to assuage their pull. They got along so well though, the lines were easily blurred. Especially since they were open and honest with their wants and feelings which lead to a sweetly mature, deep relationship that allowed them to see that what they had was worth taking the risk.
“I’m doing what feels right to me. You feel right to me.”
“We can’t…”
“We can…”
“I’m your boss… it’s inappropriate.”
“And yet I don’t give a sh!t.”

I liked how much Ryker understood her geeky methods and wasn’t intimidated by her. I got happily dizzy just imagining this big, powerful, model worthy man, teasing her with the cutesy nickname.
“I can handle anything you throw my way, Big Bang.”

And I loved how Ryker put Gray before him, how he was willing to step back from his career in order for Gray to continue with hers. But it was a heartfelt two way street with them. Because once Gray realized her attraction to Ryker was soul deep, she would equally stand aside for him.

A team sport wouldn’t be complete without the rest of the team and I was glad to see the gang back, especially Zack and Kate who, among stolen moments, steal a lovely one for themselves.

Taking moments in between games, hockey controversy, and family drama, Sawyer Bennett gave us sweet, sultry romance that had me smiling wide with its incredibly happy ending of Big Bang proportions.

Ryker is the fourth book in the Cold Fury Hockey series by Sawyer Bennett. It can be read as a standalone with interconnecting characters from previous books. With no cliffhanger and a happy ending.

4.5 Big Bang stars

Making my way through the Cold Fury Series, I could not wait to devour Ryker Evan’s story. He was…. dreamy.

Ryker’s a scorching hot hockey player, a great dad, a passionate lover and funny. I couldn’t resist his charms and now I’m a giddy goalie groupie. But, what made this an extra delicious read for me was my muse. (The insanely sexy Henrik Lunqvist. - the incredibly hot NY Ranger).

Ryker flooded my imagination the minute I was first introduced to his character in ZACK. This gorgeous man haunted me ever since and kicked up my anxiety to a new level waiting for his turn on the ice.

Newly divorced single dad, majorly screwed over by an unfaithful wife, Ryker quickly became my favorite in this series. All these heroes had major challenges, which I championed them to overcome. However, Ryker had a more lighthearted, humorous quality to his character. I loved the relationship he has with his daughters, from braiding hair to killing (and almost freaking out) spiders, he’s both a mom and dad to these adorable girls. It added to his sexy, gentle-giant persona. Ryker’s the perfect combination of sweet tenderness and raw animal magnetism.

My poor Ryker. Starting over in his mid-thirties has him dealing with ton of complications. Aside from being a single dad, he’s in a new town and facing the pressure of upholding his position on a new team. Add to that the undeniable and sizzling attraction to the forbidden. He’s got it bad for the team’s new general manager, Gray Brannon, the first female GM who consumes his thoughts.

I liked Gray. She’s a strong willed, intelligent businesswoman and the type of female lead that did not drive me insane by being all wishy-washy. She stood her ground and went after what she wanted, regardless if it put her career in jeopardy. Gray was a smart chick that exercised caution when perusing Ryker, while dealing with her own fears of establishing a relationship with his kids. She too had challenges – a job promotion, making her way in a male dominated field, resistance from some team players – she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders and worked hard to prove herself daily. A relationship with Ryker added to the complications in her life, but he was so well worth it. This couple was fantastically steamy.

RYKER was a good read that had it all. A hot, juicy romance filled with passion, love of friends and family (so happy to see Alex, Garrett, Zack and families pop into the storyline), touch of drama courtesy of an unsuspecting plot twist and humor. It was a lighthearted kind of love story that left me feeling all happy-happy.

Oh yeah, another great Cold Fury book. Ryker was amazing and so wonderful not only with his daughters but with Gray. I was expecting her to be a little harder and was pleasantly surprised that she was not. I loved seeing all the old crew hanging out together. I loved all of Zack's attempts at proposing. I can't wait to see who's up next.

Ryker was introduced in Zack, as the newly single dad an veteran league goalie. It’s undeniable that there was something about Ryker that was likable while we read briefly about him and his new situation with a new team during Zack, so getting his story was something I was greatly looking forward to.

It didn’t take long to fall head over heels for this one. It was a few simple scenes with his little girl, and this woman was done for. I loved that although his wife cheating and leaving him could have left him devastated and a tad bit irresponsible, he knew that his number one job was taking care of his daughters. That right there had me swooning.

His relationship with those girls also showcased his character and perfectly set up just the kind of man he was. Then we meet Gray Brannon. Daughter to the former GM of Cold Fury that just stepped down and handed over the reins to his daughter; former two-time Olympic medalist for Woman’s Hockey. Gray’s as driven woman who has focused her entire life on goals. She did not do relationships or love. But there is just something about Ryker that pushes all of her buttons. Something about the man that makes her, for the first time, want to risk all her hard work for something that might just mean more than any accomplishment has before.

Ryker was another fantastic story given to us by Sawyer Bennett, an author that I just can’t seem to stop reading. For me, she can just do no wrong. You get this completely sweet contemporary romance with characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with and everything about this story was solid and flowed so perfectly.

I loved the way that both characters saw exactly what they had, what it was worth and were so willing to take the leaps in order to keep it. There was some drama, but nothing overwhelming and nothing that detracted from just how lovely both these characters were.

I am excited to find out just who we’ll see featured in the fifth installment of the Cold Fury series!

Ryker is the 4th book in the Cold Fury series and I would recommend they be read in order.

Ryker is the goalie for Cold Fury hockey team he is at the peak of his career and not too far from retirement. He is a single father he has full custody of his two young daughters and a relationship is the last thing on his mind.

Gray Brannon is the new General Manager of Cold Fury the only woman to have this position in the league, her career is her life.

There is chemistry between Ryker and Gray they try and ignore it but one thing leads to another and they soon get physical. Can this work between them or are their careers more important. What will happen when the truth comes out?

The reasons Ryker was not a 5* for me is I did not feel the emotional connection that I felt with the other books in this series. I would have liked more family time with Ryker and his girls and I found the last few chapters predictable as I knew what was coming and it was not a shock.

As usual there are great characters, plenty of steamy moments between Ryker and Gray, lots of funny banter between the guys on the team and I loved the epilogue CLASSIC Sawyer Bennett.
