The most of the found addions are marked/fixed dead links. in dewiki it is used to redirect known dead link/ fixed dead or fixed dead links with clickalbe "original" over this authority. This is a good way to keep the Special:LinkSeach clean of fixed dead links. It is used 24.923 times in main-space in dewiki! --Boshomi (talk) 17:01, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
@Boshomi: Thanks for the note, if it is being actively used, it isn't showing up at linksearch and I had checked. It has been lightly abused and it is acting as a redirecting url, for which there is a general approach of blocking abuseable redirects. We can look to remove it, as it is not being heavily abused, or you can look to whitelist its use.  — billinghurst sDrewth 21:56, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
There is a known bug in Special:LinkSearch (Phab:T89586). You can find theme with SQL-Querys to the eu-table. The redircet of fixed dead links helps a lot for the maintenance of external links. We need at least one authority for this task. When I finde some hundred dead link in a domain, I use the eu-API to make maintenance list de:Wikipedia:WikiProjekt_Weblinkwartung/Toter_Link, when a job is done, the list get empty. Without redirecting the fixed links the list never get empty, as long as templates like de:Vorlage:Internetquelle shows the original URL. --Boshomi (talk) 08:11, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
