Paiahahā! We’re thrilled to announce that the field trial of our Possum Spitfire was a resounding success! The main purpose of this trial was to demonstrate the efficacy of our toxin on possums in order to meet the necessary regulatory requirements. The results showed: 1. A huge reduction in possum numbers ✅ 2. New product features successfully validated ✅ 3. The devices performed reliably under harsh environmental conditions ✅ We look forward to sharing the results soon and would like to thank everyone involved, in particular: - Robin Gerding, Bex and the team from Wairakei Estate for hosting the trial and being so accommodating on farm; - Tim Day for the excellent trial design, ongoing support and knowledge sharing of possum behaviour! - UBCO - Electric Utility Vehicles for kindly loaning a bike which made the monitoring super efficient (and more fun!), while also causing minimal disruption during calving 🐮; - And lastly, to the Envico product design team who worked tirelessly to get the product to this stage. Plenty more mahi to do now and the team is excited for the next steps bringing this product to market! #conservationtech #pestcontrol #productdevelopment #predatorfree2050

Māori Are the Only Solution to New Zealand's Brain Drain and Mass Migration Problem Alright, let’s not beat around the bush: New Zealand’s losing its talent left, right, and center. Kiwis are bolting overseas faster than you can say “expat life,” and our economy’s feeling the pinch. The real shocker? Māori hold the keys to fixing this mess. Yep, you heard that right—if we want to stop the brain drain, we need to unleash the economic power of Māori. The Economic Heavyweights We’re Ignoring Māori own a truckload of resources—land, geothermal, fisheries, you name it. Yet, they’re underutilized, often sidelined by those who are risk adverse. Imagine if we tapped into Māori-owned geothermal energy, cranked up fisheries to go global, or turned land holdings into agri-powerhouses. We’re talking billions in potential revenue, jobs galore, and guess what? Talent might actually want to stick around. A Win for Māori and Everyone Else Let’s face it: Māori are getting a raw deal in education, and that’s on all of us. Lifting Māori education isn’t just a “nice idea”; it’s essential. A well-educated Māori workforce means more skills, more innovation, and way more entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a no-brainer—fix education for Māori, and we all win. NZ’s Secret Weapon Māori have been hustling since before it was cool. Navigating the seas, trading, and adapting—entrepreneurship is in the blood. Today, Māori are making waves in tech, agritech, and deep tech. So why aren’t we backing this? Investing in Māori businesses isn’t just a pat on the back—it’s an investment in New Zealand’s future. Capitalists, Time to Get Your Act Together Here’s the spicy bit: If you’re serious about keeping New Zealand on the map, you need to stop treating Māori as an afterthought. Stop seeing Māori as a hurdle or, worse, a handout case. Māori have the goods to drive us forward, and teaming up isn’t just good optics—it’s smart business. Let’s not forget Te Tiriti o Waitangi promised Māori partnership, not pity. Don’t Like It? You’re Part of the Problem Here’s the rub: If you’re not keen on working with Māori, then you’re part of the reason we’re circling the drain. Māori aren’t just a solution; they’re the only solution that makes sense. So, how about it? Partner up with Māori, or keep watching New Zealand flounder. 📷 Envico Technologies Hi-Tech Kamupene Māori o te Tau.

How many Envico Seed Pods did we squeeze into the jar? 🎉 The results are in and we have a winner... 👇 https://lnkd.in/geMTt83r 🎓 "Ahhh so what is an Envico Seed Pod?" Thanks for asking! 🤩 Envico's Seed Pods are nutrient rich pods packed with native seeds which have been selected by our client. We then use our pre-programmed heavy-lift #drones to disperse the seed pods across desired tracts of land. 🌱 Dispersing up to 80 pods per second, our drone system drastically reduces labor and reforestation costs (up to 95% less cost than traditional methods), enabling regeneration of challenging landscapes. With this technology, Envico is massively increasing the scalability of conservation and afforestation efforts, supporting the sector to accelerate seeding projects and restore native flora. 🌳 📈 #win #biodiversity #startup #conservation #scaling #forestry #landguardians #nztech #nzmade

🚀 Milestone moment! This week marked yet another milestone for Envico as we deployed our innovative Spitfire possum smart traps at Wairakei Estate in New Zealand’s stunning central plateau region. The environment team at Wairakei Estate, led by the awesome Robin Gerding have been doing fantastic mahi on the estate, working to control the invasive possums which have been causing destruction to Wairakei’s fragile ecosystems, destroying native fauna, threatening the lives of native birds and carrying diseases like TB, which can infect and decimate farm herds. Envico’s Spitfire traps are bringing the power of technology to Wairakei Estate’s mission for ecosystem revival and herd protection. With custom reset automation and sensor technologies, Envico’s Spitfire traps can be left unattended for up to one year, massively reducing the labour requirements of traditional trapping and enabling the scale that this mission requires. The Envico team were onsite at first light and have deployed 30 Spitfire devices across numerous blocks. We’ll be teasing the possums with our tasty lure for the next couple of weeks, before we flick the switch and arm the Spitfires. And then... it’s game on possums!!! #PredatorFree2050 #conservationtech #biodiversity #naturewins #pesteradication #BecomeABetterAncestor #innovation #agritech #seetomorrowfirst

Mahi tahi - Partnering/Working together. Behind every NZ #startup is a village of supporters. At Envico Technologies, we are extremely blessed to have such a strong village. Our customers, our team, those that support our R&D, the ecosystem of advice and expertise that is available to us, and all of the wonderful folk, both in NZ and across the globe, that cheer us on from the sidelines - all of these people are part of our village. Bringing a solution to market is a journey. And there is no straight line. It's full of crazy zig zags, switchbacks, obstacles and beautiful light bulb moments. Our Envico Spitfire Smart Trap for Possums will deliver huge labour savings for all of the land guardians who work tirelessly to protect wildlife, fauna and herds from the destruction that possums bring. With automated reset technology, multi sensor systems for target identification, long life lure capabilities and no stinky mound of possum carcasses signaling danger to other possums, the Envico Spitfire will be able to be left in the bush without human touch for up to 12 months. A massive thanks to Predator Free 2050 Limited for their support on our journey to market with the Envico Spitfire - you are helping us to bring the power of technology to one of the most important industries on the planet, so that more can be achieved. Ngā mihi nui! #PredatorFree2050 #Fieldays2024 #innovation #conservation #agritech #tech4good #outsmart #forbiodiversity
