The latest report from the U.S. Department of State – Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs offers some exciting insights into the U.S. space economy. Released in June 2024, it sheds light on the sector’s contribution to GDP, employment, and compensation from 2017 to 2022. In 2022 alone, the space economy contributed $131.8 billion to the U.S. GDP, making up 0.5% of the total economy. Even more impressive, it outpaced the broader U.S. economy with a real GDP growth of 2.3% (compared to the national average of 1.9%).
