EmmyLoser replied to the topic SURVIVOR Season 42- in the forum Reality TV 1 day, 11 hours ago
It feels like kind of a boneheaded move to vote out the person who secured your tribe its supplies just because you were mad about him being mad that the tribe lost. He did seem arrogant and annoying at times, but everyone is going to seem annoying if they keep losing rewards and having to go to tribal council. I don’t necessarily think the person…

EmmyLoser replied to the topic DAYS Drake Hogestyn (John Black) passed away………. in the forum Daytime TV 1 day, 12 hours ago
This was devastating news to read. After the news broke, I cried my eyes out Saturday night reading all of the wonderful things that people who worked with Drake had to say about him and processing my own feelings about it. Like Djoko, I’ve watched DAYS my whole life, and I don’t really remember a time before Drake Hogestyn was a central figure…

I just watched the premiere episode so I can try to make better predictions this week. It was kind of a rough one. I usually think fans are being too stuck in their ways when they complain that the show is too many twists and not enough actual gameplay, but this episode was a good example of why people complain. It seemed like we spent a lot of…

The Alexis story is a little hard for me because her decision to get rid of the gun without even talking to Kristina and the way in which she decided to do it were both pretty stupid decisions that I have a hard time chalking up to the panic of a concerned mother. She could have done all that debating and trying to call Diane from her car instead…

The casting news so far has been very exciting! I’m looking forward to more of it.

I’m catching up on the show now after a couple of weeks away, and this Body and Soul storyline is unbelievable. I think what galls me most is that the writing of this storyline feels outright contemptuous of the audience. For one thing, the fictional town in Body and Soul is an amalgam of two ABC soap towns, when clearly a name that was a wink to…

EmmyLoser started the topic FINALLY Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso Back at DAYS Together in the forum Daytime TV 2 weeks, 1 day ago
You know these forums are dead when this many days go by with no one posting this kind of news: Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell are back at DAYS filming a story arc to air in mid-2025!
The details are scant, but honestly, I don’t imagine they could do worse than what they did to Bo during Peter’s last return, having us watch a brainwashed Bo…[Read more]

EmmyLoser replied to the topic Alexa Havins is now GH's Lulu… in the forum Daytime TV 2 weeks, 1 day ago
I do agree that Emme Rylan was always a poor casting choice for Lulu. It seemed like the show just wanted a different character. Alexa Havins certainly is a better fit. I will admit that I was not much a fan of Alexa on AMC, maybe because I just didn’t like Babe. But I look forward to seeing what she does as Lulu!

I’ve been away and not online much since the news was announced, but the decision to fire Kelly Monaco still feels really shocking. I don’t really know the circumstances surrounding either Michael Easton’s departure (though there had been rumblings that he was looking to exit the show, and honestly even if he wasn’t, the writing and refusal to get…

It’s nice to get any of the defunct soaps back in any form frankly. Hopefully these movies will be good and lead to more.

EmmyLoser replied to the topic Alison Sweeney Back to DAYS! in the forum Daytime TV 1 month, 2 weeks ago
In addition to Ali Sweeney’s return, Kyle Lowder basically confirmed that he’s back filming as Rex. There were also rumblings that Louise Sorel and Christie Clark were both seen in Los Angeles recently, leading to speculation that we might be Vivian Alamain and Carrie Brady back on screen sometime soon.
I don’t love Rex, but if Sami, Rex and…

EmmyLoser replied to the topic The General Hospital Thread (Part 2) in the forum Daytime TV 1 month, 3 weeks ago
My interest in most of the show was flagging, and I had fallen almost two weeks behind, but then I saw that Kristina went through a window at the Metro Court and into the pool, and that got me back in. The writing in the surrogacy story has not been good. No one looks particularly good, but I thought Molly and TJ came across worse than Kristina.…

I wonder if the show will ever mentioned again that Li specifically identified Gabi as his killer when he was in the hospital dying? I imagine not, since not only would they then have to come up with an explanation for it (though they’ve done just fine spinning nonsense to explain any number of other things happening in that storyline), but it…

Hot on the heels of news that Ron Carlivati has been replaced as headwriter by Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford, TV Insider has announced that Alison Sweeney is back filming at DAYS as the one and only Samantha Gene Brady!
The only way I could be more excited for Sami’s return to our screen is if it were happening sooner, but as it stands, we…[Read more]

^^^Eric Martsolf is incredible in these scenes. It’s really time for him to win another Emmy. Emily O’Brien does a great job as well. This storyline really benefitted from having its climax delayed by the WGA strike. I doubt the show would have let it run as long as they did if not for the regular writers not being there for finish out the story,…

EmmyLoser replied to the topic Ron Carlivati OUT at DAYS; Cwikly and Ford IN! in the forum Daytime TV 2 months, 1 week ago
I agree, the writing delay is a huge problem, and getting bigger every year! But honestly there are, at this point, things that any person should be able to see on paper that don’t work. Things like telling us that Aaron and Felicity are being raised by their hot doctor brother and then having Aaron say that his mom is having a barbecue just…

Some of the excuses they use for people not going to weddings are hilarious. It seems like they could have just gotten Charles Shaughnessy and Patsy Pease to show up for a couple of days, especially considering how many extras are at this double wedding. Kayla, Theresa’s aunt and basically Sarah’s best friend, has to work? Okay. Though this would…

Yeah, that story took an underutilized veteran and really propelled her into the spotlight. I don’t know that the show currently has anyone with that kind of potential, but it’s exciting to think of more of a shift in terms of who could get a lot of focus. I remember there being a big focus on family during the Cwikly/Brash run, which hopefully…
