Kelly Boyce is a multi-published author of historical romance in both independent and traditional formats, including The Sins & Scandals Series, The Lindwells, The Brides of Fatal Bluff Series, and The Salvation Falls Series.

Kelly lives on the beautiful Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia with her husband and clownish golden retriever who is in firm possession of a stubborn streak a mile wide. When not writing, she runs her hand-dyed yarn business, Loch Briar Knits.

Kelly is currently working on her new historical romance series, THE LINDWELLS. A Duke In Gentleman's Clothing is now available, and Once Upon A Gentleman will arrive early in 2025.

I was taking a bit of a break from writing to give my brain a breather and then got taken out by shoulder injury/surgery. But I have re-started The Scandalous Lord Grenville and hope to have it released by this coming Christmas (2019). So glad you're enjoying the series. I'm already thinking of what comes next following the end of the Sins & Scandals Series so stay tuned! :)(less)

You need to write from a place inside of you where you feel this undeniable pull to tell stories. Don't worry about getting published, worry about telling the best story you can. Focus on that. Then, once that part of the equation is completed, move on to the publishing part. The great thing about the industry now is that the writer now has the ability to be their own publisher, to take control of their own work and not wait for someone else to 'discover' them. By all means, if traditional publishing is something you truly want to do, take all the steps to get there. Have a good critique partner or beta readers to give you feedback, even hire an independent editor who can give you feedback that will put you that much further ahead. Don't worry about statistics or percentages. Don't weigh your writing mojo down with thinking about what people say 'can't' happen. Think of the possibilities of what can happen. Then write a damn good book. And when you're finished that great book, write another one. Focus on the writing. Without that, the all the rest of it is a moot point. Be creative. Then worry about the business end of things afterwards.(less)

Happy New Year all!

I have a confession – I took a month off.  December to be exact. Not all of it, but most. I hadn’t intended on doing that. What I had intended was to put the nose to the grindstone, get lots of writing done while on vacation from the day job over the holidays and make massive headway on A HINT OF SCANDAL, the last book in the SINS & SCANDALS Series.

I did none of those things. I

I would put this in the 3.5 category. This book kept me turning the pages. There were some twists I expected and some I didn't. I definitely enjoyed the book, but I'm not sure I would say I loved it. I felt more connected to the characters in the WW2 ...more

Kelly Boyce, An Invitation to Scandal

“I expect it is her dowry and family connections he is entranced with, not whether she is fair of face. One can do much with the first two and only need blow out the candles to live with the last.”
