Full of emotional angst, scorching love scenes, and a compelling story line. jewel has yet again proved she dominates the angsty genre like a queen. She's built a wild high-altitude ride that will have your emotions soaring to the euphoric highs and then sometimes crash down with frustrating despair all in the same breath. Multi layered characters starring in a powerful gripping plot make for a delectable experience from start to finish.
We met Fisher Mann in The Naked Fisherman and the stroy stood still on the edge of a cliff when we left it.

description

"if a fifty-micrometer sperm could join with a point-one millimeter egg and result in an entire human being, then two cruciverbalists could fall in love … twice."

The leap of faith takes 5 years and a handful of months before Fisher and the prodigal daughter, Reese get to be in the same town again. The situation is a quagmire of memories now, the more they struggle to escape, the more trapped their souls become and it deepens...oh how the churning passions make the proximities lethal for the hearts and minds.

“I know how I want it to end right now. But I’m so fucking scared of the plot twist because there are just too many chapters left. And I no longer trust life and its plot twists.”

Jewel Deviously pushes the reset button wiping the slate clean. Both characters have to start afresh. Reese's sanity is threatened, Fisher's mind is lost in a fog, and everyone involved is walking on eggshells.
The ensuing story had me furiously flipping pages, I couldn't sleep, eat or get any work done. I never wanted the book to end and even though I could see the oncoming catastrophe, I voyeuristically wanted the crash to be big and momentous.
Jewel delivers and How!!! She's made sure the clash & bang can be heard for pages and chapters from then on.

description

"Love's messy....thats how you know it's real!"

I'm emotionally drained by the end, my heart whipped and thrashed till the epilogue sets me free.
What a twist!!
What a conniving turn of events!!
I couldn't believe what I just read, had to go back and read it twice!!
Oh jewel!! You Diabolical Genius!!

"And it’s big. And all-consuming. It’s scary. It’s exhilarating. And real."

description

Two scenes...no...actually THREE scenes are momentous in the story.
The sit-down of Rory-Rose-Reese where Reese explains the dynamics of their current predicament.
The sidewalk scene where truths tumble out.
And the last scene, the blind trust and acceptance of Reese, her POV.
These scenes are stories unto themselves. I've NEVER read anything like this before, NEVER seen situations handled like this before and NEVER experienced the turmoil of this magnitude before.
A quicksand of Desires that pulls you and sucks you deep, embellished with wittiest, hottest banter from jewel i've ever read. That tripping on the weiner sure did sharpen her horny side of humour I think 😜

Love. It was love. I knew it always would be love. A tragic love, but nonetheless love.

*this review could vaguely spoil parts of book 1

The Lost Fisherman was the perfect ending to Reese and Fisher’s story. While it’s most likely responsible for my current tension headache from all my anxiety induced jaw clenching, it was 1000% worth the pain. I mean Jewel E. Ann truly knows how to twist the knife before giving me life, and twist she did but the life is just… *chef’s kiss* worth.

So TLF is Reese and Fisher’s second chance at love. They’ve spent some time apart, and Reese has grown and changed and LIVED, so they truly spend this book navigating their second chance. Trust and believe it is not as simple as I made it sound by any means. There are many obstacles in their way. Obstacles that I will not be sharing with you, but obstacles a plenty which are the cause for the stressful read.

What I love so much about this book is that we get Reese a number of years later. She’s moved on in so many ways from the end of book one, and truly experienced things she most likely never would have had she gotten her HEA/HFN with Fisher. I love the growth in her voice from TNF to TLF, because she’s the same sassy and light Reese but with confidence and surety mixed in. In this book she still has some things to realize, some questions to ask, but it’s like she’s come into her own and she’s really experiencing life and love in a completely new way.

Fisher has some things going on, and he really has to man up in this one and choose love over everything else. The heat between them was a bit milder in my opinion, but I think their sexual chemistry was so electric in the first book that it needed more balance with their emotional connection in this book. I know I’ve already said it, but these two had a lot to rebuild with each other.

To close, this book was a great conclusion to this duet. I’m so sad that I read it so fast because I know I’m going to be missing these characters! If you enjoy coming of age/new adult/age gap/second chance romance, or hell even if you don’t, I still highly recommend this duet.

Then I saw you. And it was … Nine across: Eleven letters. Hint: A calamity. Catastrophe.

"Are you going to kiss me?"
"I'm thinking about it."

okay so i still liked this, just not as much as the first one. i think that has less to do with the actual book and more to do with my own preferences/expectations, so take this review with a grain of salt.

basically there is a time jump of 5 years where the MC's are not in contact, they both do a lot of growing as characters on their own (which is good), and then the book begins when fisher (H) gets into an accident and loses his memory, forcing reece (h) to come home.

i’m not going to dwell on the selectivity of his memory loss cause i’m not a brain expert but let’s just start by saying that who fisher did and didn’t remember was… convenient to the plot to say the least 💀 like, he somehow didnt remember his fiancé who he knew since age 6 but remembered reece's mom? i- okay.

still tho, it didn't really bother me. the problem i had w the amnesia trope was that memory-less fisher wasn't hitting quite like memory-full fisher 💀 he seemed almost larger than life in the last book but in this one.... idk i wasn't rly feel any like butterflies over his character. which is understandable w him being so off-center cause of his brain injury but it brings me to my next point:

i felt like this poor guy was getting conned this entire book 🤡

so bc of his accident, fisher doesn't remember his fiancé who he got engaged to during the time him and reece were apart. he also doesn't remember reece either. so he wakes up and everyone is telling him he loves his fiancé, but he has no memory of her and he's basically living w a stranger who he's supposed to have feelings for but doesn't. traumatic, right?

THEN reece has it in her head that not telling him about their history together and proving that they could fall in love a second time around without him having any knowledge that it had happened once before was romantic and a test of their love. she also thinks by not telling him, she's the underdog against his fiancé who he knows he is supposed to love.

sorry, but i dis-a-gree.

fisher is already struggling in his life post-accident. he's living w this woman who says she's his fiancé and who is getting mad at him for not remembering her and not loving her, his family is all stressed cause they want him to get his memory back, and it feels like he can do no right. then reece, this mysterious, enigmatic, younger stranger presents herself as this like carefree escape from all that. she comes w no baggage from a life he doesn't remember and she also knows all his cheat codes of exactly what to do and say to get him to fall in love w her, since she already knows him intimately.

idk, the second chance love story just wasn't that satisfying to me bc of all this. i'm not saying they wouldn't have fallen in love again, bc they definitely would've. i'm just saying i didn't really see reece as this noble underdog. andie (the fiance's) strategy was shit 😂 she was smothering him and made it way too easy for reece to swoop in as this breath of fresh air and steal him. ya, the fiancé just did not bring her A game and she should've gone with reece's approach.

finally tho, the biggest reason i didn't love this as much as the first one was cause i had some expectations of a role reversal. in the last book, reece was pining after fisher the whole time and he had all the power (being older, more experienced, etc). i was really excited for reece to grow up and them to meet again more as equals. this happened, and it was nice, but the roles didn't exactly switch.

in this book reece was still the one clawing tooth and nail to keep this unattainable man. through this whole duet this girl was never not in a state of panic that she was gonna lose him. i'm pretty sure reece had like 700 jealous scenes and fisher barely had any. she was always fighting for their relationship and i wanted to see fisher fight, just once. i think it's probably just a me problem cause i'm biased towards a possessive hero, but in the end i never felt like fisher was as obsessed with reece as she was with him. i never felt an equal distribution of love. i DO still think they're soulmates, i do think he loves her and will always choose her, and i do think they're a fantastic couple w a lot of great moments. but idk i just wanted... more.

even tho i felt a little unsatisfied by the end, i still think this duet was fantastic and it's the first books in a while that have made me feel actually excited about a romance. i loved loved loved their banter and dynamic and have really positive feelings about this couple overall.

“I’ve missed you,” he mumbled.
“It’s only been five days.” I ran my free hand through his hair.
“And nights.” He lifted his head. “Nights too. Don’t forget nights.”

Overall Opinion: This was an enjoyable conclusion to the duet. I would’ve really liked more time after they get everything sorted out and are an official couple before it jumped into the epilogue though. I liked the epilogue, but it simply wasn’t enough! I also would’ve really liked to get Fisher’s POV! This part of the duet made me think of The Opportunist series and I was anticipating a similar plot twist like that going down (another re-read to do 😜). Overall, it was an enjoyable duet that tapped into the feels with forbidden/unrequited love and an averaged rating of 3.75 stars.

*Please don’t continue on with this review if you don’t want spoilers! Everything to follow has the potential for spoiling the storyline for the duet*

no because i was this 🤏🏼 close to coming back here in goodreads and rant about this book but i quite simply do not choose violence today.

but just gotta say this quickly << spoilers >>:

if your girl loves you enough to forgive and forget that you possibly had sex with your ex-fiancee in Costa Rica and failed to mention that she brought a ton of lingerie, had your own one-bed trope moment with your ex, that "she's still showering" comment, and saw your almost naked ass cuddling with her because apparently the ex loves to show off on her instagram, then you should love her enough TO TELL HER THE TRUTH. like bestie,,, it's not your girls responsibility to bring up your side of the story, it is YOURS.

anyways, done with the rant imma go back to my mini hiatus goodbyeeee.

Trigger Warnings:

First, he was the naked fisherman and now he is the lost fisherman. This was recommended by my lovely friend Bookishly Baking. This is the second book in the Fisherman duology, you have to read The Naked Fisherman before getting to this since it follows right after. I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the stuff that happened in this book, I’m not gonna spoil the book for you but here’s the summary I had for the first book, Imma copy and paste.

This ain’t about a fisherman, it’s about a guy named Fisher Mann. Therese or Reese is 18, just outta high school, and decides to meet up with her mother who got outta prison. While she’s there, her mother got a job offer and Reese is forced to spend time with her landlord and boss, Fisher instead. Reese is a religious, innocent soul who is blinded by the ways her grandparents have raised her, in her conservative Christian household. Hanging with Fisher changes Reese’s outlook on the world, for better or worse.

So this book deals with a lotta things I don’t like and I can’t really talk about it without spoiling the book. I don’t wanna spoil the twists or the unexpected storyline for you so just check my trigger warnings if you are worried since they pretty much give it away, or read the spoilers, but it’ll ruin the story for you.

Now for spoilers

I’ll be off, stay safe folks!

Reese Capshaw has spent some time pursuing her dreams and finding her passion. She's a confident woman who has learned to love herself and put herself first. Her life is full of endless possibilities. Then due to unexpected circumstances, she finds her path changes as she returns to the place where she once left a part of her heart. She'd loved Fisher Mann with reckless abandon, but she was no longer that naive eighteen year old girl. It's been five years since she's seen him, but one look and those unsettled emotions feel real and all consuming again. Is she only destined to feel heartbreak and something always out of reach when it comes to this man, or could their timing finally be right? Will their story come to an end, or are they meant to be?

-Everything about us felt all-consuming.

-What we have is effortless. It just... happens. What we have doesn't care if it's right or wrong. It doesn't care about timing. It doesn't care about age.

-My heartstrings were so tangled in Fisher, I could barely breathe. Every move seemed to create a new knot. When we got too close. When we were too far apart.

The Lost Fisherman by Jewel E. Ann is the second book in The Fisherman Duet. It's a forbidden, second chance romance about undeniable connections and the unexpected people and experiences that shape your life. This duet was just everything I wanted and more. It was messy, complicated, unpredictable, and makes you feel it all. It had sarcasm, humor, passion, and so much heart! What a beautiful, unforgettable love story Jewel E. Ann gives us. I still can't quit thinking about these characters. Fisher Mann completely stole my heart, and left me wanting more! This book will definately be in my top reads of 2021, and reminds me why I love reading so much! <333

I’ll be honest, the first book in this duet was not great for me. I was a little nervous to read the second book, but I knew so many who loved these books so I thought I’d give it a go. I’m so glad I did! This book was SO MUCH better for me. Both of the characters were much more likable and had growth!

The Lost Fisherman takes place five years after ‘The Naked Fisherman’ ends. I really don’t want to spoil this, but I love this kind of plot point in books. I found this one to be so much more romantic than the first, and I completely adored the hero. And that epilogue, it was *chefs kiss* perfect! I’m so glad I got to the second book because it was fantastic for me!

I have been waiting on pins and needles for the conclusion of this story because if I’m being completely honest, I was not a hamper camper with the first book. I needed more from the characters and I didn't feel the connection between as much as I had hoped for. This book to me, was going to salvage everything for me and put a lot of things to bed so we could finally see the true nature and endless possibilities for this couple. Did I get that? Nope.

fddea34af468c01716940023fc0bb355.gif

It’s been five years since Reese has seen Fisher. Between traveling and making a career for herself and trying to find what is best for her, moving on was the best thing that she could have ever done for herself and she has no regrets. But that all changes when returns home and she learns quickly that nothing and no one will ever be the same again.

Due to a major plot twist in this story, my review is going to be short and extremely vague because even though I didn't love this duet as much as the author’s previous books, I know that others will and I don't want to be the one to spoil anything for them. What I will say is that I wanted more out of this duet and I didnt get it. I tried to love these characters as much as I could but due to the nature of the story, things became complicated and quite messy which I was not a fan of. Now don't get me wrong, there were some things that I really liked and for that alone I had to bring my rating up because those moments, made me feel.

Even though this wasn't my favorite duet, I still think that fans of this author will still enjoy it. What didn't work for me, might just be the thing that makes you love this story even more.

Jewel E. Ann delivers big time with the second installment of the Fisherman Duet. I had huge expectations after I finished The Naked Fisherman and with The Lost Fisherman she exceeded them. I knew I was in for one very special and emotional story when I reached the end of chapter 1. It felt so right and I couldn’t have been more excited and also anxious for what was to come. The evolution of Reese and Fisher. I thought I had it figured out but Jewel E. Ann put her own little twist on it. Just brilliant!

I had my struggles with Reese in book 1 but here in TLF she completely won me over. Her growth shined through in everything she did. Her behavior, her thought process and how she articulated herself. This was a woman, secure in herself, her sexuality and she fought for what she wanted.
Fisher showed so many new sides to him as well and I was a goner. Lord! I swooned so hard. He may have been crude in TNF , he still is, but he’s also a romantic at heart. The chemistry just continues from TNF and now it’s just bursting into flames. These two gave me everything. Angst, romance, steam and love. My romance loving heart was pounding frantically from the first page to the last one.

Jewel E. Ann is a literary genius. I crave and need dialogue and story with a plot. Ann always excels in her books but here it’s just on a whole new level. The Lost Fisherman is just superbly and cleverly written and had me on the edge of my seat. The story is a wonderful mix of humor and seriousness. It was such a great combination and it worked cause it was flawlessly executed. I was attentive from the get go cause I was obsessed with this couple. The Jewel E. Ann magic had successfully cast its spell on me and I was spellbound.

The Lost Fisherman is a must read. Talk about wanting a HEA and I got it and so much more. It was one hell of a ride with all that entails. Especially emotionally. I’m easily to tears and yet again Ann succeeded in making me cry and I couldn’t be happier. I was invested and it showed. The story of a certain Fisherman and Reese Capshaw is not to be missed. Their conclusion is damn epic.

All’s fair in love and war …

Sorry to all the religious folks but this is why you have sex before marriage. If it doesn’t work in the bedroom, 9 times out of 10 you won’t succeed out of it. Plus, you want an experienced man, at least if you want to enjoy yourself.

She’s either naively optimistic or exceedingly masochistic.

Of course, deja vu with Fisher soaking wet in nothing but a towel. But are we really gonna complain about this? I think not!

I’m digging the role reversal, now he’s the clueless one and she’s the smartass.

I really love the older, snarky version of Reese. She’s totally my kind of girl.

“Are you going to kiss me?” he said. He. Said. It! It flipped my world on its head. Opposite world. A new kind of déjà vu.”-Whoop! There it is!

Kinda wished I hadn’t given the first one five stars or at least had the ability to give this one more stars.

I love mancala. It’s the favorite game between me and my kiddo.

Honestly, Reese really did play pretty fair even when I wish she hadn’t. She was very good at being the middle man and pointing out each side of the equation even if it did the opposite of benefiting her. She wanted it to be a fair fight.

Ooph! Rory’s got a lot of nerve, being so judgmental. Hello pot, don’t throw stones n glass houses and all that jazz.

So much drama but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was worried I wouldn’t get all the answers I wanted but Fisher didn’t fail me. In fact he gave me more than I bargained for and it was a doozy.

PREVIOUSLY, ON FISHERMAN #1

Book 2 was slightly better than the first, but still as messy as Naked Fisherman was.
There's a timejump between this book and its prequel. Stuff happened, things chaged and Fisher is not the same man Reese's left behind, just like she's not the same scared teen she was when she and Fisher called things off for good before she left.
I appreciated that Reese finally got her head out of her ass and took back her life and opinions after her grandparents and their overly religious beliefs twisted her brain and made her feel guilty for having biological needs and an open mind.
She was an unexpected breath of fresh air after meeting her old self in book 1, but still, I couldn't bring myself to like her.
For example, our heroine keeps pushing herself onto this poor, stupid man, and their love picks up once again, and it's more ridiculous than ever.
There's really not much I can say about this because everything is a spoiler and I need everyone who will pick this up to experience this mind-fuck of a romance novel the same way I did.

What I can say, though, is that I've read another JEA book after this, and finally found the JEA factor I loved in the Look the Part (aka, the book that started it all) and that seems to have gone vacant in this absurd duology.
So, my faith in this author has been restored for good.
My faith in illustrated covers, on the other hand: gone forever🥲

I love you today.

Did I feel like I may pop a blood vessel in my week long wait until book two? Yes.
Did I start this book the second it landed on my kindle? Yes.
Did I stay up until the buttcrack of dawn finishing it? Also yes.
Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not!
I thought we were strong enough to make it through. I thought it was finally our time. I thought wrong.

So how do I even begin to review this book when one of the most integral parts of the story is a huge spoiler? Well, I don't. I'm not going to tell you much details beyond what you can gather from that blurb, and you'll thank me for it. Trust me.

What I can tell you, is this book takes place five years after the first one. It's one of my now favorite second chance romances. And I devoured it in one sitting.

I fell hard for Fisher and Reese in The Naked Fisherman. I loved Fisher and his unapologetic crudeness. I loved the way that Reese got to see a side of him that no one else saw. Fast forward 5 years, and I think I loved these two even more. Reese is now a young woman rather than the naive child she first met Fisher as. She's seen the world. She's lived. She's experienced. She knows her mind and isn't afraid to speak it or go for what she wants. Her personality really shone through this story. She was more self assured. She also just grew into her own in a way that she never could have as an 18 year old girl.

The romance element was one of my favorites. It still echoed a bit from the forbidden parts of book one, but in a different way. I lived for the angst. I loved the emotion. And I died for the chemistry.

So why not 5 stars even while I clearly loved it? Well, I couldn't help but feel like there was just a little something missing for me. I wanted to know more about Fisher, and while I get the POV is constructed the way that it was for a very specific reason, I still couldn't help but wish for more. Yes, we got to learn him through Reese, but I would have loved to be in his head just a bit more than what we ultimately got. Now the part that we did get was extremely potent, but still.

That very minor detail aside, I loved this duet. I loved the feels, the chemistry, the once in a lifetime love. It was as beautiful as it was painful and I devoured every page.

ALL THE STARS...every single star!!

Here are some facts about myself, JEA and The Lost Fisherman…first I had this story on my kindle for a full 41.5 hours before at 12:35am I decided it was time to bite the bullet and see what Ms Jewel E Ann had in store for me, ( I was a bit nervous)…fast forward, NO SLEEP WAS HAD. My next fact would be this…JEWEL E ANN IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A ROMANCE MASTERMIND…now let me see if I can back up this last fact whilst not giving away anything about this journey. Let’s fn do this

No one, I repeat NO ONE can so effortlessly blur the lines of right, wrong, good, bad, love, friendship, loyalty and every other emotion known to man kind quite like Jewel E Ann. She can take minute, speck of a feeling and compound it into words that sear your soul. I truly do not know how to explain it but a simple sentence, a tranquil mindless moment can be a tipping point in her stories, that leave you breathless, angry, struggling but always…always wanting more. The more only JEA can deliver. This love story is patient, angsty but not dramatic, a simple way of loving that may not be conventional to some but exists perfectly between two. Breaking my heart while also taking time to nurture it?!? Simply put I can’t stop thinking about this journey. I am always left speechless, in awe of Jewel E Ann’s talent. A complete wonder of how characters can live in my heart and exist for only me, while simultaneously wanting me to be a better human too. Like what? What is this devil voodoo shit you have ensnared onto me, Ms Ann? And how do I get more? Lol

This story exists in my soul now. I know…I know how dramatic that sounds but this duet is PURE PERFECTION and I can’t for the life of me convey in this small amount of fangirly words the importance of READING THIS FUCKING BOOK. So I am going to hope you one click book one and after you finish you pre-order book two and experience EVERYTHING. I swear no one writes like JEA, you won’t be disappointed. A must read favorite that is seriously part of ME now. xo

Writing a combined review for book one & two because I’m cool like that.

Did not like this series

Okay that’s a little harsh, I meant that there are too many aspects of this series that I didn’t like

What I DIDNT like

🔪 Reese
🔪 Reese
🔪 Reese
🔪 Reese
🔪 Reese

I couldn’t stand her. I wanted to DNF this so so bad but I told myself it would get better.

She grew a backbone in this book after the 5 year time jump, lost her V card, broke a man’s heart, had all her dreams come true but had to come back because she’s a masochist and needed to get her heart broken a second time; because the first time could’ve been a fluke. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

It wasn’t all that bad. I think I would’ve liked it a lot more if I got Fisher’s POV too. I’m a little biased, I traditionally don’t like many books with a single PoV but my lord, two 300 paged books with only HER PoV? I should get a medal for finishing this. ☠️🤦🏽‍♀️😥

I’m going to pull the age card for the heroines shit in book one. I mean she was 18 and green so I kind of understood where she was coming from. But her actions in this book was a little too much for me to handle. The whining and crying. So much crying. 🙄It pissed me off and her blaming and accusing Fisher because of her trust issues or whatever issues she has going on felt a little more than unfair to me. Not that Fishers Aloof remarks made the situation any better.

I think. I might try another book or series by this author but I’m keeping my hopes down. Like the Mariana Trench down.

2.8 stars!

So, a girl recommend this duet to me and instead of reading the first book like a normal person would I started with the book 2. And oh god, I regret it so much. Because I hated the hero.

I don't think I can read the book 1 after this disaster of book 2. I kept waiting for him to grovel or you know some sort of explanation of why instead of chasing the heroine, he went ahead and got engaged to the OW. But there was literally none. It seemed like the heroine loved the hero more than he loved her. I believe if the heroine hadn't come he would surely marry the OW or if not her then any other woman. I really don't understand, why the fuck didn't he chase the heroine if he loved her so much? It makes no sense.

And I felt so bad for the heroine. She deserved so much better than him. He was such a loser. Even after having sex with her, he went to a trip with the OW.

Anyways, lesson learnt. Don't start book 2 without reading book 1.

4.5 ⭐️ 2🌶️

I absolutely devoured this duet in a matter of 24 hours. It was messy, full of angst and tension. Like genuinely you could not pry this from my hands, so unputdownable and perfect for a slump IMO . It’s a neighbours age gap romance and I really loved the growth that took place in this for the characters from book 1 to book 2. Did not expect to love this so much, ahhhhh I had the actual best time! If you read this, better believe you’ll be diving into book 2 right away!

If I thought I loved Jewel E. Ann’s The Naked Fisherman, I’m going to need to find some new adjectives for The Lost Fisherman. Five stars is not enough to convey how much I loved this book and the return to Reese and Fisher. This was such a great way to do second chance romance and I did like the time jump from the first book and the maturity it brought to Reese along with it. This is definitely a sequel in the truest sense, so you can’t jump in without having read the first book, but trust me - that one is worth reading!

Thank you to Valentine PR for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This is best duet I’ve ever read in my entire life
________________________________________

Coming off the high that was book one and my jaw being on the floor from the cliffhanger... Some time has now gone by and circumstances have changed. Reese is back in town and Fisher is engaged but that's the least of the obstacles that stand between them. Watching them find their way back to each other ›>>>

When I tell you book 2 did some MF things to my heart!!!! Just the genius of this story and how it played out was NOTHING like I had ever seen before. Reese has grown so so much from book I her character growth was so damn astonishing I was so proud of her!

The absolute undying and unyielding love that has crossed time and circumstance for these two? Oh my God. Honestly I couldn't possibly imagine it IRL. I can only dream of being loved the way these two loved each other. You know when a book is so damn good it pisses you off be vou remember it's not real? Yeah This was the best damn time or my life and I don't regret a single thing. Everyone should read this duet I promise there is no way you would not enjoy watching their journey.

Yes this review is vague as hell because I refuse to ruin it by listing a bunch of tropes. This duet is more than it's tropes. Plus if you read book one there's no way you won't start book 2. Read them, I promise it will change your life. I haven't written a review in months and I had to come through for this duet. That's saying something.

☆ All The Epic Love stars ☆
I love you today

If book 1 (The Naked Fisherman) was addicting... The Lost Fisherman was my next hit. The hit to keep my addiction going.
Literally unputdownable. I can't remember the last book I read in one sitting.
And why do all amazing reads have to end? Why do they have a last page 😭 completely unfair because while the book is finished and there are no more pages to turn, my heart can't let go.

You are my favorite place in the world

This was everything it needed to be and nothing I was expecting and it was perfect.
Honestly, I was a little nervous to start this one but I hadn't finished chapter 1 before I realized it would be soooo worth it.

I was so so happy with Reese's growth as she became the woman she was meant to be. As she learned to trust her heart and keep her faith.
I absolutely fell in love with Fisher AGAIN. Not that I had fallen out of love, I just didn't know there was a chance I could love him even more.
This one is a bit less steamy than book 1 but I felt it was important to see another aspect of their connection, their love. It worked well for this part of their journey.

Fisher and Reese are the epic love story. The kind of love that can't be denied.

I wanted to know if you felt this sense of awe and fate like it was impossible for us to not fall in love at every possible opportunity

Let me gather my heart real quick 😭

Reese + Fisher #2

We all remember how the first book ended? Reese went away to go to Thailand with Brendan and be a good Christian.
After a year she wanted to come home, but she wasn't ready. So she went and made something of herself. College. Midwife.
But now her mom asks her to come back to Denver to work closer to family.
Which also means closer to Fisher - who is kinda engaged. 😱
And that is not the only new development ...

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN ....

What will happen to Reese + Fisher?
Will there finally be a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

Adorable!

I liked this second book so much more than the first one. I wasn't the biggest fan of the very young-girl-age-gap thingy. And the whole religion part was horrible for me.
But now we're all five years older and wiser and this 2nd book was just adorable.
And a bit heartbreaking too of course. And funny and sweet and sexy and frustrating and sad and adorable.
I just loved reading this. You so want to fast forward to that happy end, but it's not an easy journey for our darlings. It might take a while.
I'm still not the biggest fan of the 10 year age difference and I don't like love triangles at all, but it didn't bother me much here.
Beautiful love story!
READ IT!

THE LOST FISHERMAN was the perfect ending to this adorable and funny and sparky and sexy and heartbreaking love story! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Fisher - he'll be sold out in no time!!

And now I'm going to repeat what I mentioned in my review for book #1 - for all future readers who - like me - were afraid that this would be a series about a naked guy sitting in his boat with a fishing rod all day - nope. FISHER MANN IS HIS LEGAL NAME!! There's not a fish to be found in this book! LOL!

📚And before he kissed me on the mouth, he paused, letting his gaze ghost along my face. “I didn’t think I could love you more.” He swept my hair away from my face before weaving his fingers through it. “I was so fucking wrong.”

📚Fisher’s heavy breaths washed over my cheek as his lips found my ear. “You are my favorite place in the world.”

📚“I love you today.” He shrugged a shoulder. “And I’m going to wake up and do the same thing tomorrow.”

📚“Can I do it now?”
“Do what?” I asked with a soft voice, running my fingers through his messy hair.
“Can I love you forever?”
“Yes.”

Duygudan duyguya sürüklendiğimiz; duvardan duvara atıldığımız; bazen öldüğümüz, bazen güldüğümüz, sonra yine öldüğümüz, bolca öldüğümüz bir hız treninin daha sonuna geldik🤕❤️‍🩹💔❤️‍🔥♥️😍

Reese, kuuuuuzuuuummmm♥️♥️ Ben, senin hiç yorulmadan sevmene, imkansız aşkına tutunmana, cin gibi aklınla kadere boyun eğdirmene ÖLÜRÜM😍😍 Senle gurur duyuyorum😍😍 Sen, yüreğinden yaralı bu aşkı sonuna kadar hak ettin🥳🥳😍😍❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Mihri’yle, kitabın yarısına kadar 4 veririz buna diyorduk. Kitap bittiği an koşa koşa, paşalar gibi 5’i bastık.

Ve KRALİÇEM’in önünde yine saygıyla, aşkla, hayranlıkla eğiliyorum♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Wow! Just wow! The second part of this duet blew my mind, made me question my taste in romance tropes, challenged me, made me rethink right and wrong and some of my beliefs and made me incredibly emotional.
The writing style is so fantastic! The book is told solely from Reese's POV. The way she entertwined her faith with adulthood and real life was amazing. There is a 4 year time jump in this book and I loved how Reese grew into a confident and smart young woman.
There is the premise of cheating in this book and I struggled to make sense of why it felt wrong but not really. Reese and Fisher are messy but they have this amazing chemistry and banter. They are complicated but simple at the same time.
We only get to know the truth of the situation in the prologue, told from Fisher's POV.
Highly recommend it!

Safety: 4+ scenes with explicit or midly explicit sexual content.

Wow! My first Jewel E Ann book and will certainly not be my last. I love forbidden, age-gap, second chance love and Jewel blew this duet out of the water. We watch as Reese grows into her own over two books, young love maturing into something so beautiful and pure. Oh fisher with his smirks, his winks, his humor and arrogance...I just loved him. The twists and turns I didn’t see coming...it was perfection *le sigh*

As if this book was going to be anything less than an instant favorite. In truth, it was everything.

I say this every time I read a book by Jewel, but she always knows how to take everything I expect and do the ole’ switcheroo, and give me everything I NEED and WANT by doing exactly what I’d never expect.

If you loved Fisher and Reese in the first book, you’re going to worship them in this one. Reese has become the trailblazing woman Fisher always hoped her to be, and she’s grown so much from the first book. Don’t get me wrong, I loved who she was then, but seeing how much she had grown since then was empowering and inspiring.

And Fisher, oh Fisher. How I loved him. Everything and nothing at all has changed in Fisher’s life, and we get to see that man we had a glimpse of in the final chapters of The Naked Fisherman. It’s fascinating how the worst thing to happen to someone can also be the best thing for them.

You’re going to love every moment of this book, even the parts that hurt!

Both of these books are powerful, thought provoking and rawly emotional, while also being sexy, full of chemistry and off the charts angst. I still cannot get this story and these two out of my head, which is something Jewel is highly skilled at doing!

✨4.25 beautiful fisher starts✨

🛠️The Naked Fisherman-4.75⭐
🛠️The lost fisherman-4.25⭐
The Fisherman duet-4.5/5⭐

“I’m always running from you because you are the worst, Fisher Mann.
The. Worst. You make it impossible to love you and just as impossible to
not love you. But the worst part is you make it impossible to be with you.

The best duet Ever❤️ I've never read something like this before,a coming of age story filled with so much emotions. This duet is far ahead of the ones we see regularly. As it is this book is a continuation of the first book "The Naked Fisherman".The development of both the characters were very nice.Reese into a confident person and Fisher who developed emotions.Okay but I missed the mean side of him🤣But if it were for his mean side I wouldn't love him. Also the ending was wonderful. The most important thing about this book is that is was real,so damn read,it's not just sneaking out of house, crossing your limits, boundaries and making mistakes.NO!!!It was in such a way I was able to relate because each action of Reese had consequences.Real.Life.Consequences.
