This is my first Eden Winters book and I will not be my last! I read this because it had highlanders, I love me a man in a kilt, the accent, castles, the romance, etc. *sigh* This story is a historical, contemporary, tear-jerker, paranormal and a 5 alarm tissue alert! What makes all of this work of course if the superb writing, I could kick myself for waiting so long to read one of this authors books.
Malcolm Byerly is teacher and violinist in England, 1758. He lives in fear of being discovered he is a lover of men. When he is recommended to teach for a family in Scotland, he jumps at the chance to escape his current conditions. Once he arrives in Edinburgh, Scotland he meets his pupils and their older brother Aillil Callaghan *swoon*.
Ok it’s hard for me to talk about this without giving anything away, so I will simply say I devoured this book. Malcolm and Allil, simply took my breath away, broke my heart, put it back together and cleaned me out of tissues!
I read in hopes of finding books that move me like this one did. Highly recommended! ...more

And her McKinnon Ranger series is my all time fav Highlander Series! So as soon as this one came out, i had to read it. And OMG OMG it didn’t disappoint (other then i wish it was longer). This is a Christmas novella and it was sweet, comforting, funny and romantic…YES YES YES!
It was wonderful to catch up with Iain *swoon*, Morgan *swooning again* and Connor *going to pass out from swooning*. And of course the wonderful women in this series, Annie, Amalie and Sarah. And of course can’t forget Joseph and even Lord Wentworth.
This was the perfect small peek into the McKinnon brothers lives. Oh how I wish for more more more….

The sex was hot and steamy if course, but the best part of this book were the emotions and love I could feel between these three. I felt for each of them as I learned their circumstances and what brought together. I was happy, sad and captivated by each of them. I loved both heroes and the heroine!!!
An awesome read!! Thanks Kathy my sweet friend for the rec!!!!...more

This book has been sitting on my TBR shelf forever, i had been ignoring it. Thinking I have so many other more exciting books to read. Well when i finally decided to dive into this book I was swept away. This book was hard to read at times and heart warming at times, it made me mad at the way Native Americans were treated, and pulled at my heart the way the hero and heroine fought to stay together. To me it was an adventure, I could imagine the difficulties of living in this time and the feeling of helplessness to fight against an enemy you knew in your heart would eventually win no matter what you did.
As much as I loved the hero Gaetan, I have to give special mention to Katherine. I loved this woman, she was strong and independent, feisty and so well written I could definitely put myself in her place and imagine what she would be feeling. I have read other books with strong female characters, but to be honest they felt way to extreme and not an honest portrayal of a woman. To be Katherine felt like the perfect blend of characteristics, I loved her!
There are many well written reviews on this book already. So I will only say that this story reached a special place in my heart. This story had depth, it made me think, it made me swoon, it made me mad as hell. I was worried for these two throughout the story, they felt real to me. And when i reached the end I was smiling from ear to ear!

I have been waiting impatiently when I heard Daniel Mackenzie was getting his own story…..
The title of this book is perfect in explaining Daniel, he is wicked. He has wickedly wonderful hands, kisses body (oh my), wickedly sensual smile and a wicked sense of humor., wickedly intelligent mind etc etc. And while I loved Daniel, he did appear to be too good to be true. The man had no faults, and while it bothered me a bit it didn’t take away my enjoyment of this book. For me Daniel was one of those over the top characters that you knew could never exist in real life, but a small part of me wished he did. So Daniel is happily in this book and I enjoyed the wicked rascal immensely.
And Violet is a charming character that i enjoyed. And if you know me at all, you know I have a real issue with “come and save me” heroines in books. Violet is a woman with a horrible and abusive past. Because of her past she has learned to survive by trusting no one, she is a trickster, a con artist and lets no one see the real Violet or let anyone near her heart. What i liked about this character was her strength, despite her past and despite the way she choose to deal with it I admired her a lot.
And the bonus in this story was seeing the Mackenzie men again….OMG OMG OMG!! Ian (yep still swooning over this man), Mac, and Cameron and Hart, they all had enough of an appearance to satisfy and sate my missing them.
Overall a wonderful fairytale feel story, with the prince wearing a kilt! YAY!!! ...more

And to be honest Fellows was never a character in the previous books I liked. Reading his story, didn’t make me love him anymore unfortunately. To be blunt this book was boring,
Fellows is a detective for Scotland yard and half brother the the Mackenzie’s. While Fellow is quite good at his job and he appears to have a simmering anger that he keeps in tight control, i found him unemotional and distant. And then there is Lady Louisa Scranton, wrong accused of murder she is dependent on Fellows to clear her. While Louisa is a sweet enough character she is rather reserved as well. Being that this is a historical romance I understand somewhat, but this story pales in comparison to the other wonderful books in this series.
I enjoyed this story for what it was, a sweet tame romance and a step to the book I was waiting for….
I am giving this 3.5 stars, I really wanted to give it more, but I thought about the other books I have given 4 stars to and I couldn't put this book I am giving this 3.5 stars, I really wanted to give it more, but I thought about the other books I have given 4 stars to and I couldn't put this book in the same category as those.
This is about Elliot McBride, he is a tortured and badly damaged man having been held prisoner while in the military. He returns to Scotland after escaping and takes his indian servant and his family with him. In fact, Elliot was so badly tortured that the people around him fear he is suffering from "madness", even Elliot fears he is mad.
We meet Julianna at the church on her wedding day, she has been left at the alter and while escaping to a quiet place before telling everyone the wedding is not taking place runs into Elliot. Elliot had come to the wedding to stop it from happening because he has always loved Julianna.
Now I really liked the story, I loved watching Elliot fight his demons and struggle to hold on to his sanity. I admired his strength, his determination to find happiness and peace. Julianna I did not care for really, I found her flat and uninteresting honestly. I got tired of the lists she would make about everything and i never found my emotional attachment to her. She never grew in this story and I found myself skipping parts of the book that only included her. I really loved the secondary characters more, McGregor was a funny, entertaining man and the relationship between him and Komal was so cute!
In the end the sex was steamy and I enjoyed the book quite a bit, and I will never forget Elliot and McGregor, but those two couldn't carry the story for me. so 3.5 stars....more
