The biggest takeaway is that the Japanese police is crazy corrupt and utterly ineffective. Also they don't give a flying fuck about dying white girls.
Unfortunately unsurprising.
Some stuff seems self-aggrandizing to say the least. Some stuff I don't believe happened. Especially the last quote where a woman says something very movie quote about Jake being like his enemy, driven, workaholic, loyal, but without any of the negative traits. Came off as complete BS....more

Don't play video games, have fun at work, only ever work towards a goal. Rest and restitution is for pussies. Maybe if you have an extremely specific mindset, this book can work for you. Maybe things are different in the US "Be me, with my dreams, in the time in history I was. Also make sure you don't have fun with anything but your vision."
The absolutely best part of the book is that Arnold himself is reading it to you....more

I doubt the tales of people having done heroin for 14 years, then stopping overnight with *no* withdrawal symptoms. I don't doubt Jackie Pullinger helped a lot of people and that's good, this book however, isn't.
Did not finish: at page 99, after the whole narrative had moved entirely away from Kowloon Walled City, I couldn't take any more....more

That guy is such an egomaniac. This is mostly a book where William Shatner teaches us how to make a book look like it's about one thing, but really it's about another.
Also turns out that whenever Trek ran into a problem and someone had to heroically set their foot down, it was always Shatner. Why we need to be told this in a book about Leonard Nimoy, I don't know.
