We went of the deep end and they helped him get clean and sober. Lissie is a new detective to the area. She is also recently clean and sober. She has other demons though. Family trouble. She branching out on her own for the first time. These two just share a connection. Lissie is part of team looking into some bodies found in the area. She also is looking to the disappearance of her best friend. Could the two things be linked? This book was different from the other MC books I have read. It seemed deeper and not necessarily about the MC life or the 1% life. I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading the first book in the series. Great job Freya.

Ashley Anderson is a single mother working her but off. She doesn’t have time to date nor does she want to. Dallas finds himself in a bit of a situation. He gets some community service. This leads him to meeting Ashley. Ashley is getting a home through Houses for Hope. Dallas has a chip on his shoulder about certain things. People getting things they don’t earn is on one them. Ashley has worked for everything she has ever got. She has raised her daughter by herself. Neither Ashely nor Dallas have ever had it easy. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. Dallas and Ashley are great characters. They manage to help each other in ways that surprise both of them. Ashley hasn’t really had anyone to help her or be there for her since her daughter was born. Dallas had a lot of responsibility thrust upon him when he was young. Dallas has a habit of messing things up. He isn’t great about communicating and he does jump to conclusions. This book has romance, angst, and is emotional at times. I look forward to reading more books by Michelle in the future.

I couldn’t wait for their book after getting a taste of them in the last book. Gray is a retired marine turned security professional turned chef. Scottie is a former rugby player turned night club manager. He is also a falling down drunk. Gray is a dominant and sees how submission could help Scottie. Scottie is confused by why is willing to do the things Gray tells him to do and how they make him feel. Scottie has been fighting his sexuality for awhile now and Gray makes him want to stop. Neither Gray nor Scottie had the best childhoods. They find something in each other neither expected. Scottie is still going through so much though. Will Gray be able to provide him with the support he needs to be able to make the changes he wants/needs to in his life. Gray and Scottie have a powerful story. Scottie grows and changes a lot in this book and its great to read about that change. I truly love this series and all the characters. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Dahlia is a fantastic author and I always look forward to reading her next book. I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Will BC be the one to change his mind and show him how great being with one person can be? This book has a twist like no other. I didn’t see it coming at all. This book had me laughing one minute and wanting to cry the next. The boys are shit at relationships and they admit it quite often. However I don’t think that they are as bad at it as they think. Ruby has married a proper English man and is a proper English woman. She knows the proper etiquette for every situation and how to make all kinds of fancy food. Her mother left one day and never came back. Her father remarried a wonderful woman named Vanessa and was a great step-mother. However Vanessa wants Ruby to be a certain way and maybe Ruby doesn’t really want to be that way. Ruby finds herself in Kansas, USA instead Paris France when her new husband is transferred for work. A whole another way of life is opened up to Ruby with the move. She makes new friends who do things differently and are unlike any friends she has had before. She meets two men who move like her husband never has. She likes her husband and he is her friend however she doesn’t believe she is in love with him and after meeting these other men. Ruby goes through a bit of a new awakening in Kansas. She is doing things she wants not things that are expected of her. I love Ruby. She maybe a little crazy and misguided but she is a great character. She is learning all kinds of things and not just about herself either. In this book Y2K is rapidly approaching and Ruby is a hypochondriac and gets sucked into being a prepper. Ruby has lived a very tightly controlled life and with all this new found freedom she may be experiencing some brake failure. With all these new feelings she must also learn how to deal with them and how to express them. This book has humor, romance, personal growth, and so much more. This book starts near the end and then goes back to the beginning and does a bit of back and forth. Normally I don’t like these types of books as much but I liked this one. The characters a funny and provide Ruby with a great friendship when she needs it most. I recommend this book if you like comedies and romance.

This the second book in this series. While they could be read as a standalone, I think they are better read in order. Davis is a single father who owns a coffee shop and Scott is the recently outed veterinarian. Davis and Scott have a moment at a party. Neither knows who the other is and then when they find out they discover things are going to get tricky. Scott has been an ass lately. There is a reason Scott acted the way he did. It doesn’t excuse it but it makes it easier to understand. Now he is trying to find his way in this new life he is creating for himself. Davis must decide if he is going to follow his feelings for Scott or if he needs to worry about himself and his daughter more. These two manage to help each other is ways neither predicted. Scott still has many things to overcome but Davis and so many as there for him. He just has to let them be his support system. I can’t say enough about this book or the series. I love these characters so much and want to read more about them. Congrats on a fantastic book Becca....more
