this is a grumpy x sunshine marriage of convenience between lilianne who desperately needs health insurance and carter whose band needs the pr boost from lil’s successful social media page. when they move in together, despite carter trying to keep his distance, they both fill a desperately needed space in each other’s lives and realize they’re a lot more connected than they ever thought.
this was unputdownable. their grumpy/sunshine banter and forced proximity had me hooked immediately and the bond they developed as carter let her in little by little was truly everything. he went from closed off grump to the sweetest husband who just wanted her to be happy.
this is truly just a story that you need to go into an experience but it gave me allllll of the mariana zapata vibes with the tension-filled slow burn where i was just dying for the little smiles he’d give her and uhhhhh, just so good. ...more
this was so so sweet - it’s a friends to lovers, marriage of convenience hockey romance.
amber’s boyfriend left her when he found out she was pregnantthis was so so sweet - it’s a friends to lovers, marriage of convenience hockey romance.
amber’s boyfriend left her when he found out she was pregnant so she’s been struggling through pregnancy and new motherhood alone but when she finds out she might need heart surgery, she might be in over her head. her childhood best friend, ford, is happy to help however he can and suggests a fake marriage could be mutually beneficial so he can take her of her, help her with her daughter, and… it doesn’t hurt that he’s been carrying a torch for her for years.
this was so so fluffy and cute. ford was so obsessed with her and her daughter and would do anything for the two of them. it’s closed door so no spice but just the perfect fluffy read to make you feel good. ford was seriously the sweetest, most obsessed, shy hero.
this was like cheaper by the dozen meets full house plus a marriage of convenience. i am obsessed.
liv’s boss beckett has deOH MY GOD THIS WAS 20/10.
this was like cheaper by the dozen meets full house plus a marriage of convenience. i am obsessed.
liv’s boss beckett has developed a bad reputation for hating kids when he unknowingly denies a children’s hospital to host their charity at his stadium. to do some quick damage control, his father suggests he date a mom to show just how kid-friendly he is. lucky for him, liv is newly divorced and a mom of three so she’s the perfect candidate. unlucky for him, she declines to tell him she shares a house with her three best friends and their kids too… which beckett has to move into.
first, this was SO funny. between beckett & liv’s banter and all the kid antics (which were actually a great addition) to his brothers ribbing him for everything and the house’s new pet: a pregnant raccoon, there were SO many funny moments. i was giggling the entire time i was reading it because there were so many shenanigans.
second, beckett & liv were EVERYTHING. i loved how it flipped from traditional grumpy sunshine to him basically being a golden retriever in trying to get her to take a real chance on him. he went from mildly disliking kids to having the CUTEST relationships with all of the kids in the house. their story was so sweet and their chemistry was so hot.
third, i loved the female friendships in this so so much. this series is such a cute concept and they have the cutest, most dysfunctional found family ever.
melanie harlow never ever EVER steers me wrong. this is a marriage of convenience, opposites attract romance betone of my new top MH books, FOR SURE.
melanie harlow never ever EVER steers me wrong. this is a marriage of convenience, opposites attract romance between lexi, who needs a husband to save her family’s ski resort from getting sold, and devlin, who just quit the company who wants to buy it and now wants his revenge.
this was sooo fun, emotional, and spicy. i love LOVED their connection and that they didn’t try to fight their chemistry so we really saw their feelings develop throughout the whole story.
her spice always delivers but devlin had noooo right to be so hot. he basically said, even though this marriage is fake, you’re still my wife and i will take care of ALLLL your needs.
so so good and SO MUCH “MY WIFEEEEE” i die!!!...more

this was firmly ok. it's a mail order bride/marriage of convenience/small town romance but it was boring but i was suckered in by the gorgeous cover.

i was fully not expecting to cry but cue the sobbing quite honestly.
one of my new favorite single dad and marriage of convenience books.
beckett needi was fully not expecting to cry but cue the sobbing quite honestly.
one of my new favorite single dad and marriage of convenience books.
beckett needs to convince his child's mother that she'll be okay with him full time for a year and greer wants to fulfill a family member's wishes so what do they come up with? a fake marriage.
and thus sparks the cutest relationship between each other, between greer and beckett's daughter, and between the three of them. i LOVED greer and beckett. they reminded me why i love slow burns so much. it's the build up of all the quiet, sneaky moments to something so special.
greer was 10/10. i love any heroine who will bully a child to protect their own! she just wanted to be in their little family so bad and beckett was happy to have greer's crazy loud family. just such a cute book and obvi, some great 'my wife' moments...more
after an epic, almost one night stand, saoirse runs into that very same guy at a lunch with friends because he t4.25 stars, julia never does me wrong
after an epic, almost one night stand, saoirse runs into that very same guy at a lunch with friends because he turns out to be the elusive luca they’re always mentioning but she’s yet to cross paths with. imagine her surprise when he’s also the ceo of the company she’s temping at. luca’s in hot water for his playboy ways so when he overhears her fib to her mom that she’s dating him, he proposes a solution to both of their problems… marriage.
this was such a fun one. i loved luca and saoirse’s back and forth and marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes ever. this one also had some added boundaries they don’t want to cross so their feelings don’t get mixed up… which they do, obviously.
i only wish this were a couple chapters longer because i would’ve liked to read luca’s pov about proposing the marriage to her and get more insight into when it from being fake to being real but i loved them! ...more

SJ needs to trademark her own subgenre and call it cozy dark romance
why? because nero and king mafia romances with morally charcoal gray heroes and all the death that comes with dark romances but the heroes are SO down bad and obsessed with their women and you never once doubt their love for them so the books are unexplainably cozy.
savannah’s bringing the guy she’s seeing to meet her friend except that when they walk in, there are two other people there… one of which turns about to be her date’s wife. flash forward to the end of the night when she realizes she forgot her keys at her date’s apartment so she goes back for them only to hear him get shot by the guy who was there tonight (the wife’s brother). mafia men have single minded brains so he says whoops, can’t let you go after hearing that! in fact, you actually have to marry me.
king was just sooooooo hot and for what??? he was OBSESSED with her and possessive in the most calculating way. like is your man shipping your exes off to alaska? mine neither ...more
