This is the way to start a new series. CONFLICTED is the first entry in Lark Taylor's series"Born to be enemies. Fated to be mates."
WOW! JUST WOW!
This is the way to start a new series. CONFLICTED is the first entry in Lark Taylor's series Hopeless Blessed, and it was an unputdownable and addictive read. A fated mates, forbidden, enemies to lovers, touch him and die, paranormal romance which pulled on all my emotions. The tears started during the Prologue and continued throughout the entire story; such was the power of Lark's beautiful words.
"I need to be loved, dammit. Why is that so much to ask for?"
One is an angel, the other a demon, sworn enemies yet fated mates. The battle of Hell was about to change everything for angel and leader of the Seraphim Micah, especially when a stunning demon catches his eye and tugs on every one of his senses. It cannot be!!! How could fate match an angel and a demon? Despite being enemies, this match was absolutely EVERYTHING, no matter how hard they tried to fight it Micah and Nox were perfect for each other, the angel who had given up on love and the demon who never wanted a mate.
Micah and Nox couldn't have been any more opposite, forbidden, yet the pull to each other is endless as they fight a neverending battle to ignore it. How can you fight something that is predestined .... you can't. I adored the push and pull between them, their incredible banter, the possessiveness, the adoration, their unalive love language (IYKYK), and their heat and chemistry which were both otherworldly. It was their pain and suffering that truly wreaked havoc on my heart, especially everything that Micah had had to endure of the millennia, their absolute determination, once they got their hearts in the right place, to prove that angels and demons could be mates irrespective of any laws forbidding it.
I have loved every book in this amazing world Lark has created, but CONFLICTED has skyrocketed to the top as my favourite, yes, even surpassing Patience which featured Ferry and Leo. It is a story heavy on emtion, complex, but it also had some wonderful lighthearted moments. I loved catching up with characters from Lark's previous book, and meeting all the new characters, some of which already have me intrigued.
If CONFLICTED is an example of the Hopeless Blessed series and how addictive the stories are going to be .... I say, bring them on!
The Wilder Family fast became my favourite series from Karla Sorensen, and FOREVER STARTS TONIGHT is the perfect reason why. A best Romance Perfection
The Wilder Family fast became my favourite series from Karla Sorensen, and FOREVER STARTS TONIGHT is the perfect reason why. A best friend's younger sister, accidental pregnancy, grumpy/sunshine, age-gap, unrequited love romance which pulled of every one of my emotions. Karla's words were perfect, making me laugh, cry, and swoon with every page turn.
Poppy Wilder has loved Jax Cartwright since she was a teenager, but he was older and only ever treated like a younger sister. With her inhibitions lowered, Poppy finally gives in to temptation and goes after the man she has always craved. Jax has always thought of Poppy as a younger sister, but as she grew into a beautiful, intelligent woman his desire for her grew. He knew he couldn't act on his needs, but an ice storm, a tempting woman, and a burning desire meant he was about to break the rules. A passionate night together gives them so much more than memories, but will it bring them happiness?
The Wilder family has always been one that stuck together in good times and bad, so I absolutely loved the way in which they all came together to help Poppy when she needed them most. Jax has disappeared, gone on one of his treks, just like he always does when he's unsure if he's going to cope with his emotions. He was continually haunted by his past, the trauma he had endured, but it was obvious just how much Poppy meant to him. Upon his return it was interesting to see that the tables had turned, Poppy had friend-zoned Jax, and all he wanted was to be with her. When he finally produced the letter he wrote her while he was away, my heart shattered, it broke me, tears flowed, such was the power of Karla's words.
FOREVER STARTS TONIGHT is not only Poppy and Jax's story, it is a story of family, love, understanding, and acceptance. I cannot give this story enough praise, in my eyes it was PERFECTION, heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time. I simply couldn't get enough of Poppy and Jax and the journey they had to take to reach their HEA. It is a book I will read over and over again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Parker's book is next, and I can't wait. Unfortunately, it will be the last in this wonderful series.
Reynold's Restorations is another Melanie Moreland series that I simply cannot get enough of. SHIFTING GEARS is the stoEmotional second chance at love
Reynold's Restorations is another Melanie Moreland series that I simply cannot get enough of. SHIFTING GEARS is the story of Brett Conner and Kelly Ryerson, an emotional second chance at love that brings out all the feels.
"Take me there, Brett. Show me the stars." "My pleasure."
Brett is a man who loves hard, a man who is happy to just be around all his friends enjoying their company. Kelly is a photographer who lives a carefree lifestyle, travelling constantly from one photo shoot to another. They're total opposites, but in many ways they are the same, both searching for something but not sure what - especially Kelly. The chemistry they share is molten hot, but for reasons only known to Kelly their relationship has only been casual. The last time they were together Kelly broke Brett's heart, and he was determined for it to never happen again, even though he loved her with all of his heart. Will Kelly finally be able to see that Brett is 'her person', or will she continue to run?
"I had no idea what I was searching for until I almost lost it."
Brett and Kelly have a lot of hurdles to jump and walls to climb before they are able to find the peace and happiness, they are both searching for. Together they need to battle through the regrets and pain of their past and secrets that have been hidden away. Yet while traversing their battles they were still able to offer each other understanding and acceptance. I adored Brett because even though Kelly tore his heart apart, he knew something was hurting inside her, and he was willing to help her through her troubles. Kelly always seemed to be in two minds, should she stay, or should she leave, but as Brett chipped away at her walls, she began to realise just what she would find with the man in front of her ... love and home.
"I loved you enough to hope that I was what you had been searching for."
Once again Ms. Moreland delivers a story where emotions are front and centre. I know I've said this before about her writing; however, I'll say it again ... I don't just read her words, I experience them. I loved Brett and Kelly's emotional journey to achieve their dream. I laughed, cried, raged, sympathized with them every step of the way. Not only did I fall for this couple, I also enjoyed catching up with Maxx and Charly (that woman will never change), Stefano, Gabby and Theo (that kid still steals all the scenes), and Chase, they all provided plenty of good times and left me wanting more.
Next up is Chase's story, Under The Radar, and if I know Melanie it's going to be another emotional and unputdownable read.
SHIFTING GEARS: a beautiful, heartfelt story that demands to be read.

Kat Mizera has delivered another entertaining addition to her L.A. Phantoms hockey series with PLAY BOOK. A singlHeartfelt, suspenseful hockey romance
Kat Mizera has delivered another entertaining addition to her L.A. Phantoms hockey series with PLAY BOOK. A single dad (guardian), reverse age-gap, grumpy/sunshine romance which was emotional, suspenseful, and unputdownable.
Canyon Marks, 26, is an NFL player who is dedicated to his sport and enjoying his single life. His interest in committed relationships is zero. Saylor Bonetti, 31, is a former supermodel who has a passin for art, and now own her own art gallery. When Canyon notice Saylor not enjoying her date, he steps in to help her escape. Instantly there is a sizzling chemistry between them, and they find conversation easy. Just as they begin a friends with benefits, no commitment relationship everything changes with with one phone call and a mysterious incident at the art gallery. Clayton has become the guardian of his eleven-year-old niece, Ally, while Saylor has become the target for a stalker. As Canyon and Saylor deal with their new situations, they are also trying to cope with their growing feeling for each other, and deciding what type of relationship they really want. Pressure is coming in from all sides and the two are spending less and less time together, will they be able to find a way through everything that is being thrown at them?
Once again Kat Mizera has given her characters incredible banter, heartwarming moments, amazing chemistry, sizzling heat, and the highs and lows of being in a relationship. I loved Canyon's immediate acceptance of the guardianship of his niece, it was not an easy situation as he hadn't had any contact with her for years. He struggled with his parenting skills, he didn't have any, as he tried to get to know his young niece. The suspense and mystery surrounding Saylor's situation gradullay grew in intensity, providing and interesting twist to this already gripping story.
Kat Mizera did not disappoint with this story, especially when it came to portraying the emotions of a grieving child. I loved catching up with Canyon's teammates, they provided much fun and laughter to the story. I can't wait for the next one in the series. PLAY BOOK is highly recommended.
I can never find enough superlatives to describe how KE Osborn makes me feel when I read, no experien"Sometimes to survive, you simply have to drown."
I can never find enough superlatives to describe how KE Osborn makes me feel when I read, no experience, her words. ALLURING ABYSS, the fourth and final book in the Royal Bastards MC: Tampa series, was the perfect finale for the characters we met. It was also one of the hardest emotionally. Rafe 'Ominous' Novak and Scarlet 'Red' Lapointe share a heartbreaking tale, and I just wanted to wrap my arms around both.
"I don't deserve to be happy. And honestly, I don't deserve her. Not at all - she's too good for me."
From the very first chapter Ominous' story touched my heart. Here was a strong, caring, and loving man constantly waging war with PTSD, causing him to believe that he didn't deserve what others had in their lives ... happiness. He would always put others ahead of himself, including the one woman who only wanted to love him ... Scarlet. She would have to be my favourite heroine KE Osborn has written. A tough cookie who wasn't afraid to push Ominous or challenge him at every turn, even when he was trying to push her away. He feared for her safety, both from himself and an unknown danger. Scarlet and Ominous shared an electric chemistry and always delivered an undeniable heat when they were together. They shared a "crazy" between them like no other couple.
"You're a little crazy, you know that?" "Yeah, but you like my crazy." "Yeah, Red. I adore your crazy."
There was so much that I enjoyed about this book. The brotherhood of the MC, the friendships between the women, Charli, Ominous' best friend and her adorable daughter Oaklyn, the trust, loyalty, and love that this extended family had for one another. Beneath the shadows danger lurked, one that brought much drama and anxiety, suspense gradually building and revealing a perpetrator who was completely unexpected.
With the ending of this book, KE Osborn brings about the perfect ending to this series. Once again, she promised and delivered a spellbinding story. I cannot wait to see what's next from this amazingly talented author.

I know that every time I read a book by Kindle Alexander, they are going to take me on an unforgettable journey oDucky & Chad's slow burn road to love
I know that every time I read a book by Kindle Alexander, they are going to take me on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery, understanding and love. Yet again Kindle had me experiencing deep emotion whilst being thoroughly enthralled by two men who captivated my heart. Duncan "Ducky" Reign and Chad Reeves are two men struggling where they are in life, but also have a void within them they can't explain. Ducky and Chad's story is a beautiful slowburn romance that warmed my heart with every word, gesture and touch.
"Boyhood crushes had metamorphosed into adult crushes."
Ducky is the younger brother of Dallas Reign (Breakaway) and he's conflicted about where he finds himself. With more money than he knows what to do with and a new image forced upon him, he's no longer happy. Chad is the son and stepson of Dylan Reeves and Tristan Wilder (Secret who has reached a crossroad in his life and is no longer sure where his future lies, he's lost and feels his life has no purpose. Ducky and Chad have been friends since childhood, sharing a love of playing video games, however they have never met. They're best friends who have shared everything, except for the secret they've kept close to their hearts. Ducky is a shy, reserved man, content to stay in his own little bubble, while Chad is outgoing, adventurous, yet the two complement each other perfectly. Ducky receives a gift from his brother, a vacation for two to Hawaii, so Ducky decides to ask Chad to join him. Is this vacation about to bring about a reality they have only ever dreamt of?
"I needed this trip with my best friend. You've saved my life."
Hawaii, an island paradise where heat and passion will collide, and friendship finds a new level. Ducky and Chad have always had deep seated feelings for one another; however they have never felt strong enough to share them. Hawaii beings about a change of circumstances, they can be themselves, it is a time for reflection, a time to fulfill their dreams and desires. I loved their shared camaraderie, they way in which they easily slipped into each other's hearts and arms. The chemistry they share runs rampant, a sizzle that burns the air around them. They are the other half of each other's heart. I loved the banter they shared, the support they gave, the way in which their friendship evolved. They both have a deep understanding of each other, are so sweet together, but will they take their new found love and happiness back to Texas?
"My heart isn't searching anymore. I got what I wanted - a stunningly beautiful, special guy who says he wants to be with me too."
LEVEL UP is an amazing story. Two young men on their journey two find true happiness and love. It pulled on my heartstrings while also giving me huge smiles and sighs. Ducky and Chad fast became my favourite men from Kindle, their story touched the depths of my heart. I highly recommend their story to lovers of MM romances, or just lovers of romance in general.

She's done it again!! Yep, that's right, Julie Saman has made me fall heavily for another Fritz man. UNDENIABLY INFATUATEDThe Doctor & his Little Rose
She's done it again!! Yep, that's right, Julie Saman has made me fall heavily for another Fritz man. UNDENIABLY INFATUATED was absolutely EVERYTHING, a grumpy/sunshine, friends to lovers, forbidden romance which had humour, passion, suspense, and incredible banter. I loved returning to Boston and visiting with the Fritz family and, once again, Julie hasn't disappointed.
Dr. Stone Fritz needed to do some serious thinking and decided his yacht was the perfect place to do that, sailing on the wide-open ocean. Pop star and actress Tinsley Monroe needed to escape the pressure around her so she could relax and write some songs, the first and perfect place she thought of was Stone Fritz's yacht. Stone and Tinsley have been friends for years, she is his brother's ex. An agreement is made, ten days, two people, an insane amount of chemistry, and incredible heat, but at the end they would go back to their own lives.
I would never have dreamed of pairing Stone and Tinsley, but they were the perfect balance for each other. Their journey was filled with support, encouragement, possessiveness, protection, and plenty of love. Suspense was added when a stalker set his sights on Tinsley, who is it and why? The most heartbreaking part of this story was the reaction of Foster (Stone's brother) to what was happening between Stone and Tinsley. What's a Boston World novel without the rest of the family making an appearance, yes, even Grandma Fritz, cheeky little devil she is.
From beginning to end UNDENIABLY INFATUATED was a wonderful read, a book I couldn't put down. So many emotions were explored, friendships repaired, and so much swooning!!! Stone and Tinsley's story pulled on my heartstrings, and every pull was well and truly worth it. Thanks to J. Saman I have a new book boyfriend and he's totally swoonworthy.
Next up is Undeniably Married and I can't wait.
UNDENIABLY INFATUATED is a highly recommended read.
Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde have delivered another fabulous addition to their Dare Crossover series with book #4 JUST Lauren & Chase ... fun & sexy
Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde have delivered another fabulous addition to their Dare Crossover series with book #4 JUST A LITTLE CHASE. It is a grumpy/sunshine, fake relationship, he falls first, forced proximity romance which had me smiling from beginning to end.
Events coordinator Lauren Connelly needs a plus one for her sister's wedding, what makes matters worse is her sister is marrying her ex. Her only chance of getting a partner is to bid on one of the bachelors at a charity auction. Financial advisor Chase Gossard was never meant to be in the auction, only agreeing to participate as a favour for his half-sister Billie, when one of the bachelors pulls out. When Lauren bids on and "wins" Chase he tries to pay her off, but she is determined to get what she paid for. Agreeing to spend some time together before the wedding brings up some unexpected emotions. While neither were looking for any type of relationship, they decided to be together while at the wedding then return to their usual lives when it's over. What will they do when the lines between fake and real begin to blur?
JUST A LITTLE CHASE was a wonderful read. It was fun, sexy, and had two extremely likable characters in Lauren and Chase. The chemistry between them was instant, their banter was on pointe, and their heat and spiciness were scorching. This story covered a range of topics from betrayal, relationships, forgiveness, understanding, to love, and was one which left me smiling. Another highly recommended read from this talented duo.
Corinne Michaels has started her new series, Ember Falls, with ALL TOO WELL, a brother's best friend, single dad, second chance, smaFun, sweet & spicy
Corinne Michaels has started her new series, Ember Falls, with ALL TOO WELL, a brother's best friend, single dad, second chance, small town romance. It was a sweet love story, which had tension, spiciness, and emotional pull I've come to love from Corrine's stories.
Ainsley Mackinley has had a crush on Lachlan West since she was a teenager, her brother's best friend, the boy next door. One night they shared a drunken kiss that left them both broken-hearted and haven't seen each other since. Four years have passed, and Ainsley finds herself returning home to interview Lachlan, the former quarterback turned hero firefighter. Putting aside her broken heart, Ainsley is determined to get her interview and then leave. What she didn't count on were her feelings for him to resurface.
Even though there were obstacles to overcome, I loved the development of Ainsley and Lachlan's relationship. Add into the mix Lachlan's daughter Rose and his crazy group of friends, poor Ainsley didn't stand a chance of fighting her feelings. The banter, chemistry, and heat between them were incredible, but it was the humour that made it thoroughly enjoyable. It was such a fun read. Yes, there were high emotions, especially between Lachlan and his father, which were heartbreaking. I loved that the guys played ultimate frisbee, it was fun to read about such an unknown sport.
ALL TOO WELL was such a pleasure to read, it had me laughing out loud so many times. I can't wait for more stories in the Ember Falls series, I already know I'm going to love them. Thank you, Corinne, for brightening up my day with Ainsley and Lachlan's story. Highly recommended.
Kia Carrington-Russell completely surprised me with FRACTURED OBSESSION. I was not expecting Dimitri Volkov and Elanee Lane as the main cWhat a story!
Kia Carrington-Russell completely surprised me with FRACTURED OBSESSION. I was not expecting Dimitri Volkov and Elanee Lane as the main characters, but what a story they had to tell. It was a dark, forbidden, spicy, hate to love you, suspenseful romance with jealousy, obsession, suspense, so many twists and turns, and incredible individual strength.
Dimitri and Elanee went their separate ways after college, he went into the family business while she went off to Russia to perfect her ballet dancing. Five years have passed and Elanee has returned home, a shadow of her former self and Dimitri is determined to find out what had happened to her. Emotions run riot, both wanting to save the other from the man who had destroyed them both. Their stories are heartbreaking, but it is Elanee's story shattered me, the strength she displayed was incredible, she was a survivor.
Dimitri, crazy, volatile, sexy, obsessive Dimitri, wow what a man! There are so many different facets to him, but beneath his coldhearted facade is a man with a heart of gold, a man whose heart always belonged to Elanee. He is determined for her to have the freedom she deserves, and to do that he will need to face the one person he never wanted to see again. Elanee may be broken, but this woman has an inner strength, one others have failed to see, except for Dimitri. Her battle for survival and the survival of those she loves is unwavering, she would happily sacrifice herself before seeing those she loved harmed.
Dimitri and Elanee were always destined to be together. Their history, respect, understanding, acceptance, and passion for each other combined to ensure one thing ... love. Their life journey wasn't an easy one, but the support they gave each other certainly helped them reach their final destination.
As usual Kia's words were simply sublime, leading her characters and her readers on an unforgettable journey of emotions, badassery, power, control, strength, and love. FRACTURED OBSESSION was another captivating and exceptional read from Kia, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Highly recommended.
When Cambria Hebert announced whose story WHISTLE was going to be about, I was all in. WHISTLE is the 8th and finaThe Daddy and his Brat ... heartfelt
When Cambria Hebert announced whose story WHISTLE was going to be about, I was all in. WHISTLE is the 8th and final book in Cambria's Westbrook Elite series, and she couldn't have chosen two better people to finish it with. An age-gap (40-21), forbidden, MM romance which was heartfelt, soulful, heartbreaking, but it was a story of forgiveness, acceptance, and love. I devoured this book, it made me laugh, cry, rage, and sign at Cambria's beautiful and emotional words.
Coach Emmett Resch, the mainstay of Elite's swim team has always come across as the whistle blowing, gruff, stoic man who puts up with the shenanigans of his swim team. There's a side to him not many see, the caring, loving man who has a heart of gold, a man who has a secret. Bodhi Lawson is a brat in every sense of the word, and is exactly what the doctor ordered .. or should I say coach. A traumatic event reshaped his life, he lashed out, lost everything, he was a lost soul. Joining Westbrook's Elite was not on his radar, neither was Emmett Resch.
The relationship between Coach and Bodhi was everything. The possessiveness, jealousy, understanding, and cart just made my heart sigh. While it wasn't always easy, I loved that they were always there for each other. Bodhi was the perfect brat and Emmett was the 'daddy' he needed. OMG!!! Daddy Emmett was simply magnificent; Cambria didn't mess a beat with him. The steam between them was scorching, but it was the emotions, the hugs, the nicknames that were truly special.
As with all the books in this series it is the camaraderie, the friendships, the love, and support which is found amongst the members of Elite and the partners that I love most about this book. I enjoyed the usual witty, sarcastic, and humourous group chats, those Elite boys have no filter whatever. My heart melted with the interaction between Bodhi and Lars, it was what was needed after what happened in Rush's book. Coach and Bodhi were truly perfect for each other, Cambria has delivered their story beautifully. A word of warning though, a caramel trauma latte is definitely needed during reading.
Westbrook Elite is an addictive series and should not be missed. Cambria Hebert's words, characters, and emotions come to life on every page. Highly recommended.
What a way to start a new series! L.J. Shen has done it again, and I couldn't be happier. TRULY MADLY DEEPLY, book #1 in theObsessive Row is delicious
What a way to start a new series! L.J. Shen has done it again, and I couldn't be happier. TRULY MADLY DEEPLY, book #1 in the Forbidden Love series, was a captivating read from beginning to end, completely unputdownable, and grabbed all my emotions. A small town, mutual pining, second chance, nest friend's brother, tough her and you die, slowburn romance which had wonderful banter, delicious spice, a multitude of emotions, and some intriguing suspense.
Calla 'Cal' Litvin and Ambrose 'Row' Casablancas shared a single night that changed everything, not only for them but for others too, friendships were destroyed and hearts broken. Five years have passed, and Cal has returned to the town she never wanted to see again for her father's funeral. Cal is simply adorable, she's quirky, sweet, has flaws, and is eccentric. She's ready to repair the hurts of the past, but will she end up hurting once again? Row is now a successful Michelin star chef who is also back in town running his own restaurant prior to returning to London. He's a broken man who has a lot of stored up anger and an extremely grumpy demeanour. He still holds a huge grudge against Cal, yet he yearns to have her back in his life. Will he be willing to risk everything for her again?
I loved the banter between Cal and Row, it was witty, sarcastic, humourous, and honest. Row may have been abrupt and unkind to everyone else, but with Cal he was completely different, he would do anything for her, this man is the definition of swoony. He loved Cal's quirky ways; in fact, he encouraged them. He knew he should stay away from her, but he couldn't. Cal has trust issues stemming from her past, she believes she is unlovable, yet to be loved is the one thing she desires. Working through insecurities, hurt, anger, and heartache, Cal and Row's friendship begins to blossom. Are they ready to lay their hearts on the line for each other?
TRULY MADLY DEEPLY is another example of the power of L.J. Shen's words, and her ability to draw her reader's emotions. It is a small town, slowburn romance at its very best, a story of second chances, forgiveness, friendship, healing, and passion. Highly recommended.

Returning to Willowbrook, Nebraska, and the Plain Daisy Ranch has brough yet another emotional, heartfelt, and entertaining story in THE ONE I DIDN'T SEE COMING. A small town, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, opposites attract, he falls first, slowburn romance which was both sweet and spicy. I was held captivated from the beginning by the swoonworthy cowboy and the sassy woman who wanted nothing to do with him.
Emmett, the youngest Noughton brother has never been taken seriously, he's a joker, the prankster, yet there is so much more to him. Emmett is a thinker, a planner, full of charm and wit, and, in my opinion, the swooniest of the brothers. He has ideas for the ranch, but no one seems to be listening to him. Briar Adams, yes, she's Gillian's sister, has fled Chicago and returned to Willowbrook with her life in a mess. Briar is a yoga instructor who is feisty, smart, and very independent. The last person she needs in her life is the high school crush who broke her heart, Emmett Noughton. Her choice to ignore him is taken away when her accommodation falls through and she has to move in with him.
The chemistry between Emmett and Briar is obvious from the beginning, yet it is the tension, the banter, the hidden feelings, and their history which makes this slowburn romance unputdownable. While a tentative truce between them is agreed upon, it is not long before a friendship develops, one in which they support and encourage each other. As Briar's walls begin to crumble and she reveals her secret to Emmett, his attraction to her strengthens. He's smitten with her and the care he shows her has her thinking twice about her impressions of him, but she is still wary. Putting the past behind her and looking into the future is the only thing that will bring Blair peace. At what cost though?
THE ONE I DIDN'T SEE COMING was another wonderful addition to the Plain Daisy Ranch series. I loved Emmett and Blair's story, it was a heartfelt journey of self-discovery, understanding, determination, acceptance, and finding fulfillment in life. Of course, a Noughton story must always have wonderful family interactions, brotherly teasing, and the mandatory cemetery talk with mum, and this one has them all.
If you're a lover of small town romances, family shenanigans, and plenty of love, this is the book for you. I can't wait for the next book, especially after the conclusion to this one!!
Emma Foxx is a new author to me, after reading SOME LIKE IT HOT I am definitely going to go and read the earlier books An entertaining & playful story
Emma Foxx is a new author to me, after reading SOME LIKE IT HOT I am definitely going to go and read the earlier books in her Chicago Racketeers world. SOME LIKE IT HOT was a sizzling, humourous, and playful romance which had me constantly smiling.
What you can expect: ✅ Why Choose MMFM ✅ Fake Dating (With A Twist) ✅ Fake Engagement ✅ Sizzling Heat ✅ Three Delicious Men ✅ One Sassy & Sweet Heroine
Elise Starling is the personification of sunshine, a free-spirited woman who has found herself heavily attracted to three completely different men. Blake Wilder the grumpy hockey player, Simon Armstrong the bossy billionaire, and Aiden Burke the sexy firefighter, all want Elise, but who will she choose? A New Year's Eva party sets in motion a steamy, humourous, and sometimes emotional story which captured my heart and left me wanting more.
Emma Foxx delivered a superb story which explored the different layers found within friendships, relationships, and love. I loved that all the characters were open-minded and honest in regard to what they wanted and needed from each other, both as a group and individually. Although sometimes, I do wish that Elise and Blake were true to their feelings for each other, it would have solved at least one of their problems. The chemistry between all four was palpable, and the sizzle between the sheets was explosive - lucky Elise! The banter was hilarious, the teasing and the joking has me laughing out aloud numerous times, yet when the serious moments arose each individual could be very deep and meaningful. I loved that the three men were protective of Elise, constantly looking out for her. While all three men had their obvious flaws, it made them "human" and that's what I loved about them. I loved that they loved the mess Elise was and the fact that they never tried to change quirky ways. Instead, they encouraged and supported her in her endeavours.
SOME LIKE IT HOT was such an entertaining read. It was playful, humourous, sexy, and often heartfelt. It is romance and love at its best, falling for Elise, Blake, Simon, and Aiden was so easy to do. Their personalities just drew me in and kept me wanting more. Don't forget to get the Bonus Scene, it will leave your heart sighing with joy.
I was fortunate enough to read along while listening to the audio of KING, book #1Swoonworthy King is delicious
This review is for both ebook and audio
I was fortunate enough to read along while listening to the audio of KING, book #14 in Sawyer Bennett's Pittsburgh Titans series, and it made my experience thoroughly enjoyable. KING is an age-gap, hockey romance which has one of the most swoonworthy men Sawyer has created. This story is fun, entertaining, and totally romantic, which led me to constantly sighing.
Jack Kingston plays defense for the Pittsburgh Titans. At 25 you would think that he'd be happy chasing the puck bunnies, but not this man, he's more interested in being part of a committed relationship. Former figure skater Willa Montreaux is now a doctor, who has recently divorced from a controlling husband. At 32 she's not looking for a permanent relationship, instead she's content with just casual. When Willa's niece's peewee hockey coach quits, she steps in to help, even though her hockey knowledge is extremely limited. After witnessing Willa's clash with one of the parents, King comes to the rescue and offers his assistance.
Even though there is an age gap between them, Willa and King find themselves enjoying spending time with their little team and with each other. The chemistry between them is palpable, Willa is wary because of her previous relationship and their ages. King is completely smitten with Willa and will do anything for her. He realizes that she has her worries and is determined to show her it means nothing to him. Through all King's sweetness, charm, and genuine care, Willa's walls begin to crumble, but will they fall completely?
The audio narration of KING was perfect. Erin Mallon, one of my favourite narrators, and Robert Hatchet were simply superb, capturing all the emotions, humour, passion, and chemistry of King and Willa. I haven't heard Robert narrate before, but he certainly won me over with his interpretation of King, I could literally see this character and his swoonworthyness (is that even a word?) right in front of me. Erin and Robert have the type of voices I could listen to over and over again.
KING was yet another fabulous addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. As usual there was the awesome camaraderie of the players and their partners, plenty of humour, and this time, even a surprise wedding!! Rafferty is up next, and Sawyer has set the scene for this book, and I can't wait.
After reading the first two books, The Anti-Hero and The Home Wrecker, in Sara Cate's The Goode Brothers series, I couldn't waitIt's funishment time!!
After reading the first two books, The Anti-Hero and The Home Wrecker, in Sara Cate's The Goode Brothers series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on THE HEARTBREAKER. This is a professor/student, grumpy/sunshine, age-gap, surprise pregnancy (not his) romance which delivered humour, heartache, desire, understanding, and some kinky fuinishment. This is Lucas Goode and Sadie Green's story, two people acquainted yet not friends.
Lucas is a workaholic college professor who is determined not to be like his father, so relationships and children are not on his radar. He is known for being stoic, cold, controlling, and meticulously organized, yet even with these traits he has never thought of himself as a Dom, like his brothers, until Sadie walks into his classroom. She's his complete opposite, a mess, a woman who needs someone to help her regain a sense of control and order in her life. Lucs has decided he's the man for the job, even though Sadie continually brings him to his breaking point with her bratty behaviors.
I loved this story and fell wholeheartedly for Lucas and Sadie. Both are struggling with different problems. He's trying not to repeat the mistakes of his father and be like him, while Sadie has always felt she was a disappointment to her family, and now, after a one-night stand and finding herself pregnant, she feels like an even bigger failure. As Lucas gets to know Sadie better, he has belief in her and can see her potential, he also begins to fall for her. Sadie brings out a softness in Lucas, and the way he worships her is simply divine. Their journey is one of self-discovery, individual growth, confidence building, and belief that they, too, can have someone special in their lives. The heat and tension between them is incredibly hot, especially when Sadie is subjected to her funishments.
Once again Sara Cate has delivered an entertaining story which I found easy to read and hard to put down. I loved that Isaac, the youngest Goode brother, was featured, it was an insight into his relationship with Lucas and the other members of the Goode family, I cannot wait to read his story. THE HERATBREAKER was emotional, yes there were several moments I shed a few tears, I also enjoyed experiencing the love that grew between Lucas and Sadie.
THE MASQUERADE: ROOM 2 is book #2 in Eva Haining's Club V series, and every pTemptation lies behind the mask
DAMN GIRL, this story was scorching hot!!!
THE MASQUERADE: ROOM 2 is book #2 in Eva Haining's Club V series, and every page threatened to melt my kindle. It is a Dom/sub, he falls first, billionaire doctor, BDSM, no third act break-up journey of obsession, desire, devotion, heartache, understanding and acceptance of love. Told through dual POVs, Eva superbly delivers a story of self-discovery, accepting the past, and understanding the need to be loved.
Pierce Harrison has shut away his emotions, he's stoic, confident, demanding, controlling, a perfectionist, and a man very much alone. Freya is hardworking, feisty, sassy, career orientated, yet she feels something is missing from her life ... she has a need to explore her darkest desires. Club Venom. A Masquerade Ball. A Lavender Dress. A Mask. All combining to provide Pierce and Freya a night together that will change their lives forever.
THE MASQUERADE: ROOM 2 is so much more than a story about romance, it is intimate, confronting, dramatic. It is an exploration of emotions, a journey of pleasure and understanding, the growth of two individuals as they learn to open their hearts to the one thing missing from their lives ... love. Pierce and Freya's sexual journey was deliciously steamy, often leaving me squirming in my seat, the temperature definitely gets hot. Their journey is not only sexual though, it is once of accepting their past and how it affects their present, secrets are divulged, understanding and acceptance are given. Pierce and Freya complement each other perfectly, yet keeping their relationship a secret puts pressure on them. Drama does occur, but it is not for the reason you would expect, leading to love and support from friends who were always there. Once again, the secondary characters supply plenty of love, wise words, and humour, which ensure this story is even more enjoyable.
THE MASQUERADE: ROOM 2 was yet another of Eva Haining's books which comes under the heading of "UNPUTDOWNABLE". Eva certainly knows how to write addictive, emotional, extremely steamy stories with a touch of humour and drama. Another unmissable and highly recommended read.
M. Robinson is back to her badassery best with FILTHY MOGUL. As age-gap, anti-hero, boss/empLuke & Duchess = intensity & heat
OMG! OMG!! OH. MY. GOD!!!
M. Robinson is back to her badassery best with FILTHY MOGUL. As age-gap, anti-hero, boss/employee, Latina heroine, dark romance which had non-stop action, scintillating heat, violence, betrayal, and two characters with incredible chemistry. FILTHY MOGUL had me transfixed, on the edge of my seat, and constantly fanning myself. It was so good I couldn't put it down, finishing it in one sitting.
Luke Jameson, yes he's one of those Jameson's, is definitely his father's son, the apple didn't fall far from the tree with him. He's intense, broody, demanding, controlling, ruthless, cold, and doesn't trust others easily. Enter Duchess, a new DJ at one of his clubs, he's instantly drawn to her, wants her, but can he trust her? Duchess is one bada$$ woman!! She's feisty, confident, lethal, and the perfect match for Luke. Their chemistry is insane, their banter intense and honest, and their heat is unbelievably hot. Duchess isn't who she appears to be, and her secrets could destroy the fragile relationship that was building between her and Luke. Duchess's backstory broke my heart, yet it explained everything about her.
FILTHY MOGUL was an incredible read, intense from beginning to end. The twists and turns were jaw dropping, leaving me speechless. Monica has outdone herself. I can't wait for more from her.
What a fantastic start to a new series. LOST IN YOU is book #1 in Brenda Rothert's Minnesota Mammoths, a forced proximityA wonderful Alaskan adventure
What a fantastic start to a new series. LOST IN YOU is book #1 in Brenda Rothert's Minnesota Mammoths, a forced proximity, brother's best friend/teammate romance which was emotional, humourous, passionate, and an interesting adventure. Can't say that I've ever read a romance that starts out the way Trinity Lorenzo and Lincoln Rowe's does, but boy did I love it.
After a trip to Alaska to watch her brother's exhibition game, Trinity reveals a secret which has Dalton ensuring she has an escort home, his best friend and teammate Lincoln. A small plane, a crash, a journey through the woods, and a small cabin, lead to an adventure and a connection neither were expecting. Trinity suffers from anxiety and losing her medication in the crash leads to withdrawals and causes her moods to abruptly swing, causing arguments and some unwanted emotions. The more time that passes the more Trinity and Lincoln open up to each other and the deeper their connection becomes. Will their time in Alaska be all they have?
Trinity and Loncoln were wonderful together. Thier banter, humour, passion, and friendship were incredible. I oved the journey they took together, the eventual care they had for each other, and the possibility that they had found the person they were meant to share their life with ... the one, their soulmate.
LOST IN YOU captivated me from the beginning. I laughed, shed a few tears, and fell hard for two people who weren't looking for anything from each other. Brenda Rothert made me love Trinity and Lincoln through her wonderful words and heartfelt emotions she delivered with such vividness and understanding. This was such a terrific beginning to her new series. Highly recommended.
It's time to say goodbye to The Steeles at Silver Island with the final book in the series, ENTICING HER LOVE. I've always Thoroughly enticed by Flynn
It's time to say goodbye to The Steeles at Silver Island with the final book in the series, ENTICING HER LOVE. I've always loved Melissa Foster's stories, they're captivating, emotional, fun, family orientated, and full of love, and this one was no different. A forbidden workplace, opposites attract romance, Sutton Steele and Flynn Braden's story was passionate, emotional, humourous, and included a wonderful adventure.
Sutton and Flynn are co-workers who, after years of working together, have never gotten along. Even their boss has realized something needs to change and decides to send them on an assignment together. In the Amazon!! An assignment that either be a disaster or an eye-opening experience. While there they learn a lot about each other and realise how wrong their impressions were. It doesn't take long for their perceived hatred to become passionate desire. Will they be able to leave what happened in the Amazon behind them, or will their shared experience and chemistry follow them home?
ENTICING HER LOVE was a fabulous read, capturing both my heart and my emotions. Sutton and Flynn won me over the moment they spoke to each other, the animosity was definitely hiding something deeper. The tension, spark, chemistry, and banter between them were superbly written, and the spice was HAWT!! Melissa's descriptions of the Amazon were so vivid, i often felt like I was there too. Sutton and Flynn's families were hilarious, I loved the pranks the Steele family play on each other, especially when the women got in on the act. Flynn's granddad was an absolute treasure. Aside from all the humour and love, Melissa throws in a huge heart stopping moment which had my jaw hitting the floor ... so not nice!!
Another superb read from Melissa and I can't wait for more. The Flynn's brothers and sister need to have their stories told. Highly recommended.
